UFC fighter Colby Covington gave an impassioned post-victory speech on Saturday night, saying that President Donald Trump’s victory over Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden would be more impressive than his own victory during the fight.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the silent majority is ready to make some noise,” Covington said. “If you thought that was a beating, wait till November 3 when Donald Trump gets his hands on Sleepy Joe. That’s gonna be a landslide.”

Covington dedicated the fight to first responders and slammed left-wing athletes who double as social justice warriors.

“I want to dedicate this fight to all the first responders, all the military out there,” he said. “This world would not be safe without you guys. You keep us safe and not these woke athletes. I’m sick of these woke athletes and [these] spineless cowards like LeBron James.”

MMA Fighting wrote the following about Covington’s fight victory:

After a high-paced night of impressive finishes, the grudge match years in the making between Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley wasn’t close to the fiery fight many expected.

Instead, Covington took down a listless Woodley round after round before an injury to the former undisputed champ brought a swift end to the fight at the 1:19 mark of the fifth and final round.

As far as action in the cage, there were other bright spots throughout the night, none more than the 17-second knockout win of Khamzat Chimaev, which left fighters’ jaws open.

ESPN noted that the two fighters have been bitter rivals for years, adding: “Saturday’s main event was billed as one of the biggest grudge matches in the history of the UFC welterweight division. Covington and Woodley have a long history, including both once representing American Top Team. Woodley flew the younger Covington into his hometown of St. Louis as a training partner in 2014, and the two had a falling-out.”

President Donald Trump later called Covington during an interview on ESPN, telling him: “You are a great fighter, man, I’ll tell you. You make it so easy, I don’t know how … you do that. Congratulations. I wanted to watch that fight tonight. I wanted to watch it, you were great.”

“That was easy work, relatively easy work for you,” Trump continued. “I’m proud of you, man. I’m proud of you.”

Covington later added on Twitter: “Nothing makes me prouder than fighting for the people who fight for America!!! THANK YOU to all the brave men and women of law enforcement and the military!!! Thank You @realDonaldTrump for all the love and support!! The silent majority is ready to make some noise November 3rd!!”

The pinned tweet on Covington’s Twitter account, from 2018, stated: “Like @POTUS @realDonaldTrump always says: Promises made. Promises kept. Pleasure to finally meet you Mr. President. Thank you for always putting America first! #maga #GreatAmericanWinningMachine …”
