American forces killed a senior ISIS leader and two of his adult sons in Syria early Friday morning, the U.S. military announced. 
U.S. Central Command said that senior ISIS leader Dhiya’ Zawba Muslih al-Hardani was killed during a raid in al-Bab, Syria. All-Hardani “posed a threat” to American and coalition forces as well as the new Syrian government, CENTCOM said. 
“We will continue to relentlessly pursue ISIS terrorists wherever they operate. ISIS terrorists are not safe where they sleep, where they operate, and where they hide,” <a href="https://www.centcom.mil/MEDIA/PRESS-RELEASES/Press-Release-View/Article/4255485/centcom-forces-kill-senior-isis-leader-in-al-bab-syria/">said</a> CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla. “Alongside our partners and allies, U.S. Central Command is committed to the enduring defeat of ISIS terrorists that threaten the region, our allies, and our homeland.”
Two of al-Hardani’s adult sons, Abdallah Dhiya and Abd al-Rahman Dhiya Zawba, were killed in the raid. CENTCOM said that both were affiliated with ISIS. Three women and three children present at the location were unharmed. 
There were no American casualties during the raid, which took place about 29 miles northwest of Aleppo.
In recent months, the Trump administration shifted American policy on Syria, dropping sanctions and moving to relax export restrictions. The move came as President Donald Trump has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-lauds-syrian-president-as-attractive-and-tough-after-vowing-to-remove-sanctions">been friendly</a> with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who overthrew Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. 
During a May meeting with al-Sharaa, Trump called him a “young, attractive guy. Tough guy. Strong past. Very strong past. Fighter.”
Al-Sharaa, who has portrayed himself as a moderate, has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/syrias-jihadist-president-calls-for-peace-as-his-forces-slaughter-political-and-ethnic-minorities">previously been tied to</a> various terrorist groups like Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Al-Qaeda. Trump pushed him during their meeting to help the United States target ISIS.
In recent days, the Trump administration has also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-calls-on-syrian-muslims-to-end-attacks-on-druze-rape-and-slaughter-must-end?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Rubio+Calls+On+Syrian+Muslims+To+End+Attacks+On+Druze%3A+‘Rape+And+Slaughter+…+Must+End’">pressed</a> al-Sharaa to crack down on terror groups attacking religious minorities in the country. 
U.S. forces have continued to target ISIS operatives throughout the Middle East. In March, an American strike <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/his-miserable-life-was-terminated-trump-announces-top-isis-leader-dead-after-u-s-strike">took out</a> Abu Khadijah, a top ISIS leader who was hiding in Iraq. Khadijah was the chief of global operations and the delegated committee emir for ISIS and, officially, the second-in-command for the Islamic terrorist organization.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to crack down on homelessness across the country. 
The <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/07/ending-crime-and-disorder-on-americas-streets/">executive order</a> aims to make it easier to house homeless people with serious drug addictions and mental conditions in humane “long-term institutional settings” and encourages states to enforce existing laws against public drug use and squatting.
“Endemic vagrancy, disorderly behavior, sudden confrontations, and violent attacks have made our cities unsafe. The number of individuals living on the streets in the United States on a single night during the last year of the previous administration — 274,224 — was the highest ever recorded,” the order states. “Shifting homeless individuals into long-term institutional settings for humane treatment through the appropriate use of civil commitment will restore public order. Surrendering our cities and citizens to disorder and fear is neither compassionate to the homeless nor other citizens.”
As part of the order, Trump directed his administration to seek to reverse federal and state judicial precedents and consent decrees that prevented the commitment of “individuals with mental illness who pose risks to themselves or the public” into “appropriate facilities for appropriate periods of time.”
The order also encourages his administration to offer grants that motivate states to crack down on public drug use, urban camping, loitering, and urban squatting. 
Trump also directed his administration to stop funding programs that promote “harm reduction” or the “safe consumption” of drugs. During the Biden administration, there was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-sent-the-black-community-crack-pipes-social-media-erupts-in-response-to-crack-pipe-racial-equity-initiative">public outcry</a> after a report said that the administration was distributing free crack pipes in “safe smoking kits.” 
In 2024, homelessness reached its highest total since 2007, when data collection began, <a href="https://www.congress.gov/crs_external_products/IF/PDF/IF12985/IF12985.1.pdf">according</a> to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. On a single night in 2024, there were roughly 771,480 people without homes, including 274,224 who had no shelter at all. California had the largest homeless population in the country, with <a href="https://www.huduser.gov/portal/sites/default/files/pdf/2024-AHAR-Part-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimates</a> placing the total around 187,000. 
The Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-rules-in-favor-of-oregon-citys-ban-on-homeless-encampments">ruled</a> last year that local ordinances restricting camping on public property do not violate the Constitution’s prohibition against enacting cruel and unusual punishments under the Eighth Amendment.
On Friday, Trump was asked about a group of homeless people camping outside the Treasury Department. 
“I think it’s terrible and we’ll have them removed immediately,” he told reporters. “We’ve got to get the mayor to run this city properly. This city has to be run. You know, I have the right to take it over, and I think it’s terrible.”

Trump has long <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-gives-d-c-mayor-ultimatum-on-unsightly-homeless-encampments?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Gives+D.C.+Mayor+Ultimatum+On+‘Unsightly+Homeless+Encampments’">threatened</a> to strip the authority of Washington D.C. from Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser. Bowser has previously said that homeless encampments are “not technically permitted in the District” and has signaled she would be open to working with the White House to address the problem.

Trump Moves To Get Homeless Off The Streets, Into ‘Appropriate Facilities’

President Donald Trump made endorsements for two critical Senate seats on Thursday in high-profile races that are expected to draw a lot of attention. 
In a Truth Social post, Trump told his followers to support Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley in representing North Carolina in the U.S. Senate. While Whatley hasn’t officially announced a campaign, it is widely expected that he will jump into the race in the coming days. 
“Mike would make an unbelievable Senator from North Carolina. He is fantastic at everything he does, and he was certainly great at the RNC where, in the Presidential Election, we won every Swing State, the Popular Vote, and the Electoral College by a landslide! But I have a mission for my friends in North Carolina, and that is to get Michael Whatley to run for the U.S. Senate. He is STRONG on the Border, stopping Crime, supporting our Military/Veterans, cutting Taxes, and saving our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump posted. 
“I need him in Washington, and I need him representing YOU!” Trump added. “So, should Michael Whatley run for the Senate, please let this notification represent my Complete and Total Endorsement. HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
The North Carolina seat became open after GOP Senator Thom Tillis announced he would not seek re-election after he opposed Trump’s signature spending package and the president threatened to support a primary challenger. Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law and a Fox News host, had been floated as a potential candidate for the seat, but she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lara-trump-steps-aside-clearing-path-for-rnc-chairmans-senate-bid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Thursday that she would not launch a campaign. 
On the Democratic side, former Governor Roy Cooper is expected to launch a campaign on Monday, aiming to flip the seat. 
Trump also endorsed former Florida Republican Party chair and state Senator Joe Gruter to head up the RNC if Whatley runs for U.S. Senate. 
Former Congressman Mike Rogers also earned Trump’s backing in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race. Rogers narrowly lost a previous Senate election in 2024 to Elise Slotkin, but is running again after Democrat Sen. Gary Peters announced his upcoming retirement. Trump praised Rogers as an “America First Patriot.”
“From the U.S. Army to Congress, Mike has served our Nation with distinction, and will bring that same Fighting Spirit to the U.S. Senate,” Trump said on Truth Social. “As your next Senator, Mike will work tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE by keeping the price of Gasoline, Oil, and all forms of Energy VERY LOW (CHEAP!), Help Secure our now VERY Secure (Record Setting!) Southern Border, Support our Incredible Military/Veterans, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.”
Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI), who had been considering a Senate run, announced Thursday that he would not enter the race. Huizenga, who reportedly spoke to Trump last week, did receive the president’s endorsement for his congressional seat. He is up for re-election in November 2026.

Trump Endorses Two ‘America First’ Candidates In Battle For Senate Control

A new bipartisan bill would make FEMA directly accountable to the president and officially prohibit political discrimination in disaster relief. 
The new <a href="https://transportation.house.gov/uploadedfiles/fema_discussion_draft_text.pdf?utm_campaign=198289-345">bill</a>, officially introduced Thursday, would make FEMA an independent agency and look to cut down on the red tape that has bogged down the agency for years. It would also add explicit protections for political beliefs after an employee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-fema-official-ordered-relief-workers-to-skip-houses-with-trump-signs">was caught</a> last year directing emergency responders to skip the homes of Trump supporters. 
“The American people need an emergency management system that works quickly and effectively, not one that makes disaster recovery more difficult,” <a href="https://democrats-transportation.house.gov/news/press-releases/committee-leaders-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-dramatically-reform-fema">said</a> Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO), the chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. “But time and time again, we’ve heard the same story from state and local officials, emergency managers, and disaster victims: the federal process is too slow, complicated, and disconnected from the realities on the ground.”
The bill was also introduced by Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA), the top Democrat on the Transportation Committee, and Reps. Daniel Webster (R-FL) and Greg Stanton (D-AZ). 
A previous draft of the legislation was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lawmakers-renew-efforts-to-protect-disaster-victims-from-political-discrimination?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Lawmakers+Renew+Efforts+To+Protect+Disaster+Victims+From+Political+Discrimination">introduced</a> in May for public comment and input from emergency management professionals. 
The bill would seek to incentivize states to save up their own funds for emergencies, speed up the emergency grant approval process, close out the roughly 1,000 disaster declarations dating back to Hurricane Katrina, and streamline the application for aid.  
One of the key components of the draft legislation is that it would add “political affiliation” as a protected status under current federal law. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-senator-vows-to-stop-fema-from-discriminating-against-republicans">previously introduced</a> legislation in the Senate that would do the same thing.
This proposal comes after The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-fema-official-ordered-relief-workers-to-skip-houses-with-trump-signs">reported</a> in November that FEMA supervisor Marn’i Washington ordered relief workers in Lake Placid, Florida, to skip the homes of people “advertising Trump.” Washington and three other FEMA employees were fired over the instructions, which caused over 20 homes to be skipped by FEMA workers.
President Donald Trump has called for dramatic reforms to FEMA and floated the idea of getting rid of the agency completely. In an executive order, he called for the creation of a federal council to look at the possibility of getting rid of FEMA and shifting responsibility to the states.

New Bill Would Overhaul FEMA, Ban Political Discrimination In Disaster Relief

Over three dozen economists are urging the Senate to pass a bill that would codify President Donald Trump’s executive order requiring health care price transparency, which they say could save the American economy $1 trillion. 
In a Thursday <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2025/07/Economist-Letter-Marshall-Hickenlooper.pdf">letter</a>, 40 economists across the political spectrum asked the Senate to back a <a href="https://www.marshall.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/BAI25371.pdf">bill</a> from Senators Roger Marshall (R-KS) and John Hickenlooper (D-CO) that would require hospitals to inform patients of medical costs before receiving care. Conservative economists Steve Forbes and Art Laffer, who signed the letter, told The Daily Wire that the proposal would cut waste and help the American economy. 
&#8220;The Patients Deserve Price Tags Act would give Americans access to actual prices in healthcare, allowing consumers to make informed decisions and finally hold hospitals and insurers accountable for wide price variation and overcharges,” Forbes told The Daily Wire. “Unleashing the free market would drive enormous savings for consumers and employers, boosting the economy to the benefit of all Americans.&#8221;
Laffer pointed to a study from the Journal of the American Medical Association that estimated that about 25% of America&#8217;s $4.9 trillion in health expenditures was spent on administrative waste, overcharges, over-treatment, and fraud. Laffer estimated that pricing transparency could save the economy $1 trillion per year. 
&#8220;Beyond lowering healthcare costs through choice and competition, price transparency will substantially benefit the American economy and the American worker,” Laffer told The Daily Wire. “When upfront prices empower businesses and unions to significantly reduce health plan costs, they can redirect savings to productive pursuits, including higher worker wages, generating an enormous economic stimulus for years to come.&#8221;
Other economists who signed the letter include representatives from Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Vanderbilt, Duke, and other major universities. 
“As professional economists, we are united in our belief that real price transparency is urgently required to reverse the nation&#8217;s runaway healthcare costs that place a tremendous financial burden on patients, employers, workers, and the national economy,” they wrote. “Patients and employers need upfront prices to avoid overcharges, spot wide price variations — such as $300 to $3,000 MRIs and $1,200 to $12,000 colonoscopies — and choose affordable care.”
Most Americans <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/most-americans-back-trumps-radical-actions-to-reform-health-care-industry">support</a> more transparency in health care pricing, with 74% of Democrats, 83% of independents, and 91% of Republicans all supporting Trump’s February executive order that tasked his administration with putting for new regulations for hospitals to share more pricing data with customers. 
Andrew Bremberg, a former assistant to Trump, told The Daily Wire that the policy would be an “historic part of President Trump’s legacy and will forever change healthcare for the American people.”
The bill is also backed by Republican Senators Chuck Grassley (IA), Tim Sheehy (MT), Joni Ernst (IA) and Democrat Senator Maggie Hassan (NH).

Economists Urge Senate To Back Healthcare Bill They Say Could Save Americans $1 Trillion

An illegal alien from Senegal attacked multiple ICE officers last week after he was detained in New York City, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. 
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on Thursday announced charges against Bass Ndiaye for allegedly assaulting ICE officers and about one dozen other detainees on July 18 with a pair of scissors. Ndiaye faces one count of assaulting an officer of the United States using a deadly or dangerous weapon. 
“This criminal illegal alien, who released into the country under President Biden, will face justice for his violent crimes,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. “Our ICE law enforcement are facing an 830% increase in assaults against them. Secretary [Kristi] Noem stands with the brave men and women of law enforcement as they risk their lives to remove criminal illegal aliens and protect Americans.”
Ndiaye was first arrested on July 17 in New York, where he was taken to the 26 Federal Plaza immigration center in Manhattan for processing. The stabbing incident occurred the next day and the ICE officers were able to disarm Ndiaye, the Department of Homeland Security said
Ndiaye illegally crossed the border on October 22, 2023, when he was arrested by Border Patrol. He was then released into the country by the Biden administration. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. 
In recent months, ICE officers and Border Patrol officials have faced increased attacks and hostility. 
Over the weekend, an off-duty Border Patrol officer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspect-in-shooting-of-border-patrol-officer-released-under-biden-dhs-says">was shot</a> during an attempted burglary in Manhattan. Both suspects are illegal aliens with extensive criminal histories. 
“These violent thugs have committed a smorgasbord of crimes and been arrested multiple times and yet New York continued to release them, ignore an ICE detainer and allow them to continue to prey on Americans and terrorize our streets,” McLaughlin said. “How many people have to die, how many lives have to be changed forever for Mayor [Eric] Adams and his sanctuary politician ilk to end these performative politics?”
