<p>The United States has authorized the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment for precision bombs to Israel as the country fights to eradicate Hamas after last month&#8217;s terrorist attacks.</p>
<p>The Biden administration sent the formal <a href="https://static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/documenttools/5b66fdb955baeecd/5608873d-full.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">notification</a> to Congress on October 31 of its authorization to allow the sale of $320 million worth of Spice Family Gliding Bomb Assemblies, which are weapons kits that turn unguided bombs into precision guided bombs, to Israel. The order comes on top of another order for the same kits that was valued at over $400 million that the Trump administration sought congressional approval for in 2020.</p>
<p>The Israeli-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is purchasing the equipment directly from Rafael USA, an American company that has ties to Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and not through the U.S. government.</p>
<p>The weapons transfer comes after Hamas, an Islamic terrorist organization that is backed by Iran, launched an unprecedented terrorist attack on October 7, murdering 1,400 Israelis, wounding 5,300+, and kidnapping more than 240.</p>
<p>Some of the stories and images that emerged from the attacks were among the most barbaric acts of violence imaginable, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-israeli-emergency-services-official-gives-horrifying-account-of-what-hamas-did-during-attack" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including</a> cutting a baby out of its mother&#8217;s womb, stabbing the baby to death in front of the mother, and then shooting the mother in front of the rest of her family before killing her remaining children.</p>
<p>Israel has responded to October 7 attack by launching ferocious bombing campaigns on Hamas targets inside of Gaza. Israel later began its ground operations inside Gaza as it seeks to root out the terrorist organization for good.</p>

<p>The precision kits will go on the bombs currently in Israel&#8217;s arsenal — mostly 1,000- and 2,000-pound bombs which are among the largest and most powerful used by any military in the world, according to a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/06/world/middleeast/us-israel-bomb-equipment-sale.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from The New York Times.</p>
