OUCH: Two More Billboards Pop Up In NYC Ripping ‘The Boss’ Ocasio-Cortez

Two more billboards ripping into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have popped up in New York City.

The billboards hanging on the side of a skyscraper in Times Square, first reported by Reuters, poke fun at the socialist for her widely-criticized Green New Deal and her recent comments applauding herself for her effort, labeling herself “the boss.”

“Hey AOC, you’re the ‘boss’?” one of the billboards reads.“WE DON’T THINK SO. The American PEOPLE are the boss,” the other says. It also publicizes a link to TheGreenRawDeal.com, which is critical of the freshman rep’s Green New Deal.

The billboards were funded by the nonpartisan pro-jobs organization Job Creators Network, which was founded by Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus.

The group chose to highlight Ocasio-Cortez’s comments earlier this month regarding the Green New Deal. The freshman congresswoman dismissed criticisms and cheered her own efforts, declaring herself “the boss” for “trying.”

“I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago, and it’s creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried,” she said. “Because no one else has even tried. So people are like, ‘Oh it’s unrealistic. Oh it’s vague. Oh it doesn’t address this little minute thing,'” she added. “And I’m like, ‘You try. You do it. Cuz you’re not. Cuz you’re not. So, until you do it, I’m the boss.’ How about that?”

When the Green New Deal was released, it was hit with harsh criticism for her hefty price tag and unrealistic demands. Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro called the deal “one of the stupidest documents ever written.”

“How bad is the Green New Deal paper? Putting aside the fact that, as written, it would receive a C+ in any high school English class, it essentially articulates a magical world in which the skies rain chocolate, the world is powered by unicorn farts, and AOC dances through the gumdrop meadows to Lisztomania,” blasted Shapiro.

Even Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) distanced herself from the plan, which she categorized as “enthusiastic,” which she “appreciates.”

Job Creators Network hit Ocasio-Cortez last month, too, sarcastically “thanking” her for botching Amazon’s plan to build a $2.5 billion campus in Queens. The move would have brought some 25,000 jobs to her district and created nearly $30 billion in tax revenues to New York.

“Thanks for nothing, AOC!” the billboard screams.

“If we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district ourselves, if we wanted to,” said Ocasio-Cortez, defending her anti-Amazon position. “We could hire out more teachers. We can fix our subways. We can put a lot of people to work for that money, if we wanted to.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) reacted to the sabotaged plan in a statement. “The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage,” he said. “They should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity.”
