<p>One Democrat governor and one Democrat member of U.S. Congress spoke out against President Joe Biden pardoning his son on Sunday night despite his repeated lies that he would not do so.</p>
<p>Biden issued a sweeping pardon for his son that covered every crime he committed &#8220;or may have committed or taken part in&#8221; over an 11 year period.</p>
<p>Far-left Colorado Governor Jared Polis posted on X: &#8220;While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden ’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;When you become President, your role is Pater familias of the nation. Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.&#8221;</p>

<p>Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ) posted on X that Biden &#8220;got this one wrong.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;This wasn’t a politically-motivated prosecution,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Hunter committed felonies, and was convicted by a jury of his peers.&#8221;</p>
<p>President-elect Donald Trump slammed Joe Biden for pardoning his son despite his promise that he would not.</p>
<p>“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” Trump asked on social media. “Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!”</p>
<p>A spokesperson for the president said in a separate statement that “the failed witch hunts against President Trump have proven that the Democrat-controlled DOJ and other radical prosecutors are guilty of weaponizing the justice system.”</p>
<p>“That system of justice must be fixed and due process must be restored for all Americans, which is exactly what President Trump will do as he returns to the White House with an overwhelming mandate from the American people,” the spokesperson added.</p>
