Tucker Carlson declared during his Tuesday monologue that the “trans movement” was the “mirror image” and therefore the “natural enemy” of Christianity – and it wasn’t long before media outlets had twisted his words to make it appear as though he was targeting people.

Carlson addressed the tragic Monday shooting that took place at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, and argued that radical gender ideology was the antithesis of Christianity – and that being the case, the two could not peacefully coexist. But at no point did he name transgender people as the “enemy.”

Despite that, media and news site Mediaite ran with a headline suggesting that he had done exactly that: “Tucker Carlson Deems Trans People the ‘Natural Enemy’ of Christianity.”

“I said that trans theology is inherently at odds with Christian theology. That’s true. The recent mass murder in Nashville is one result of it, obviously,” Carlson told The Daily Wire. “The shills at Mediaite and in the rest of the media would like to keep lying about this, which is why they aren’t pushing to see the killer’s manifesto.”

The article went on to quote Carlson accurately, however, noting that he had actually claimed the trans movement was Christianity’s “natural enemy.”

“The trans movement is the mirror image of Christianity and therefore its natural enemy,” Carlson said, going on to explain that Christian theology was rooted in a belief that humans are not God — and the trans movement claims human dominion over nature.

“People who believe they’re God can’t stand to be reminded that they are not. So, Christianity and transgender orthodoxy are wholly incompatible theologies. They can never be reconciled. They are on a collision course with each other. One side is likely to draw blood before the other side,” he said.

But Mediaite was not alone in its mischaracterization of Carlson’s words — a HuffPost article railed against the popular Fox News host in its headline: “Tucker Carlson Spews Truly Evil Trash About Trans People In ‘Christianity’ Rant.”

Complaining that Carlson had not addressed gun control at all, the article went on to allege “the Fox News host sought instead to peg Monday’s violence as evidence of a war between Christians and transgender people.”

Later in the piece, the HuffPost writer again accused Carlson of claiming that “transgender people” were the “natural enemies” of Christians.

“Pushing his trademark ‘us against them’ rhetoric, Carlson then suggested that trans people and Christians are ‘natural enemies’ that can never be reconciled,” the article continued, despite the fact that he had only referenced the movement and ideology.

The Hill Reporter ran with a nearly identical headline to Mediaite’s: “WATCH: Tucker Carlson Says Trans People are the Natural Enemy of Christians.”

A similar scenario played out after the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) when The Daily Wire host Michael Knowles called for the eradication of transgender ideology — and media outlets quickly accused him of calling for the genocide of transgender people.
