Speaking to the leftist precept of relative truth, Donald Trump surrogate Omarosa Maginault said she would “speak [her] truth,” when challenged on a speculative comment she made about Senator Ted Cruz’s daughters being distressed about their father’s supposedly unethical presidential campaign.
With the segment initially and abruptly cut short by CNN anchor Don Lemon, its resumption saw Omarosa calling for a shift of public discourse towards policy issues and away from her boss’s retweets about Heidi Cruz.
Asked by Kellyane Conway – president of Keep The Promise, a super PAC supporting Cruz – about how she wanted her role to be remembered in this presidential campaign season, Omarosa took the opportunity to impugn Cruz’s character.
“When [Cruz’s daughters] Google it, they’ll see the maneuvers that Cruz has used in the past, in Iowa, they’ll see that he has certainly been a hypocrite in this situation,” said Omarosa. “They’re gonna say, “Daddy, you really haven’t playing by the rules.’ They know that he’s underhanded. So they’ll see all of the whole story.”
Conway interject with disagreement.
“No, I don’t think they’ll say that about their father. I think that’s a terrible comment to say,” said Conway. “I gave you a nice softball and you struck it out.”
“I’m gonna speak my truth, and you will never control that,” concluded Omarosa.
