In an interview Thursday, Donald Trump unloaded on the sketchy, politically foolish, secretive meeting between Bill Clinton and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who is currently investigating him and his wife in a case that could determine who is the next President of the United States. The incident, said Trump, is just more hard evidence that what he’s been saying all along is true: the system is “rigged.”
The same day that a reporter told Fox News that the FBI had instructed the press not to take any photos or recordings of the meeting between Lynch and Clinton, Trump spoke with radio host Mike Gallagher about the “terrible” incident.
“I think it’s so terrible,” Trump told Gallagher (video below). “I think it’s so horrible. I think it’s one of the biggest stories of this week, of this month, of this year. I’ve been talking about the rigged system, about how it’s rigged, and this is terrible, and I don’t understand why nothing’s happened.”
The meeting was “so out of bounds,” he said, even the media couldn’t ignore the story.
The secretive meeting, he added, demonstrates that the Clintons have poor judgment—a reversal of one of Hillary Clinton’s repeated digs on Trump.
“And you see a thing like this. Even in terms of judgment, how bad a judgment is it for him or for her to do this. Who would do this? I think it’s a massive story,” he said.
As Fox News reports, not only is Hillary Clinton currently under investigation by Lynch’s Department of Justice for the use of her unauthorized, unsecured email server, her husband is also a key player in the expanded investigation into the Clinton Foundation: “The FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of private email as secretary of state has expanded to look at whether the possible “intersection” of Clinton Foundation work and State Department business may have violated public corruption laws, three intelligence sources not authorized to speak on the record told Fox News.”
To make matters worse, Lynch’s department recently “filed a motion in federal court late Wednesday seeking a 27-month delay in producing correspondence between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s four top aides and officials with the Clinton Foundation and Teneo Holdings, a closely allied public relations firm that Bill Clinton helped launch.”
So, yeah, the system is rigged.
