Following the horrific terror attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando, Donald Trump called out his Democrat adversary Hillary Clinton on her family foundation’s acceptance of tens of millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia, a country where homosexuality is punishable by death. Clinton, demanded Trump, must “immediately return the $25 million plus” her foundation received.
“Saudi Arabia and many of the countries that gave vast amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation want women as slaves and to kill gays. Hillary must return all money from such countries!” demanded Trump in a Facebook post Monday.
“Crooked Hillary says we must call on Saudi Arabia and other countries to stop funding hate. I am calling on her to immediately return the $25 million plus she got from them for the Clinton Foundation!” he wrote.
Trump’s statements came in response to a speech (video below) by Clinton on Monday in which she said that the governments of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait must end their funding of terrorism and radical schools and mosques.
“For starters, it is long past time for the Saudis, Qatari and Kuwaitis and others to stop their citizens from funding extremist organizations,” said Clinton. “And they should stop supporting radical schools and mosques around the world that have set too many young people on a path towards extremism.”
After immense pressure to release the list of donors to their scandal-plagued foundation, the Clintons revealed that they received millions from countries notorious for their persecution of homosexuals and women, most notably Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, all of which Clinton hypocritically singled out Monday.
“The governments of Kuwait and Qatar are also on the list, as is Saudi businessman Nasser Al-Rashid, who has close ties to the Saudi royal family,” reports CNN. “Saudi Sheikh Mohammed H. Al-Amoudi, reputed to be one of the richest men in the world, is among the donors as well. Both Saudis contributed in the $1 million to $5 million range. A group called Friends of Saudi Arabia and the Dubai Foundation appear in the same category.”
Trump is not the only person to call out Clinton on the hypocritical donations. Several Republicans have noted it before, and even her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders has knocked Hillary for her LGBT and feminist hypocrisy over the issue in the past.
