President Donald Trump said Monday that he was going to lead a charge against the use of mail-in ballots for elections. 
In a Truth Social post, Trump said that he would be signing an executive order to restructure the American election system and called for Republicans to take action to implement new election integrity measures. 
“I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we’re at it, Highly ‘Inaccurate,’ Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES, which cost Ten Times more than accurate and sophisticated Watermark Paper, which is faster, and leaves NO DOUBT, at the end of the evening, as to who WON, and who LOST, the Election,” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115049485680941254">wrote</a>. “We are now the only Country in the World that uses Mail-In Voting. All others gave it up because of the MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD ENCOUNTERED. WE WILL BEGIN THIS EFFORT, WHICH WILL BE STRONGLY OPPOSED BY THE DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections.”
Trump added that states were &#8220;merely&#8221; agents of the federal government for the counting and tabulating of votes. 
“ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING, and everybody, IN PARTICULAR THE DEMOCRATS, KNOWS THIS. I, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WILL FIGHT LIKE HELL TO BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY BACK TO OUR ELECTIONS. THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!! REMEMBER, WITHOUT FAIR AND HONEST ELECTIONS, AND STRONG AND POWERFUL BORDERS, YOU DON’T HAVE EVEN A SEMBLANCE OF A COUNTRY,” Trump added. 
The post went on to argue that Democrats would be in trouble because of their support for transgender-identifying men playing in women’s sports, transgender policies, and lax border policies. 
Trump has long been a skeptic of mail-in ballots, arguing that they open the door to fraud. A Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/swing-state-voters-receive-mail-ballots-for-relatives-who-died-moved-away">investigation</a> before the November 2024 election found that mail-in ballots across the country were sent to voters who were deceased or had moved states. 
While speaking to reporters on Monday alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump again called for Republicans to take action. 
“We gotta stop mail-in voting. And the Republicans have to lead the charge. The Democrats want it. Because they have horrible policy. If you have mail-in voting, you’re not going to have many Democrats get elected. That’s bigger than anything having to do with redistricting, and the Republicans have to get smart,” Trump said.
Trump added that his lawyers were currently crafting an executive order taking aim at mail-in ballots.

President Donald Trump said Friday that he would fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook if she doesn’t resign over mortgage fraud allegations. 
Cook, appointed to the Federal Reserve by former President Joe Biden, has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-calls-for-fed-official-to-resign-now-after-mortage-fraud-allegations">faced pressure</a> from the Trump administration to step down after Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte — an ally of Trump — urged the Justice Department to investigate alleged mortgage-residence misrepresentations by Cook. 
“I’ll fire her if she doesn’t resign,” Trump told reporters on Friday morning. “What she did was bad so I’ll fire her if she doesn’t resign.”
Trump first called for Cook to step down on Wednesday, shortly after Pulte publicized an August 15 letter he sent to Attorney General Pam Bondi alleging that Cook falsified documents to get better loans and interest rates. 
Pulte alleged that Cook simultaneously claimed primary residency for two homes—one in Michigan and one in Georgia — in order to secure more favorable mortgage rates. He wrote in his letter that Cook “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud under the criminal statute.”
In a statement, Cook said that she learned of the criminal referral through the media and that she had no plans to leave her position at the Fed. 
“I have no intention of being bullied to step down from my position because of some questions raised in a tweet,” she said. “I do intend to take any questions about my financial history seriously as a member of the Federal Reserve and so I am gathering the accurate information to answer any legitimate questions and provide the facts.”

Trump has repeatedly clashed with the Fed over its reluctance to lower interest rates and has previously floated firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. Cook, who is slated to stay at the Fed until 2038, has backed Powell’s decision to hold interest rates steady.
Last year, The Daily Wire and City Journal conducted an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trouble-at-the-fed">investigation</a> into Cook’s academic record and found that, in several papers, she had lifted language from other scholars without proper quotations, and repeatedly republished text from her own prior work — or that of coauthors — across multiple academic journals without adequate attribution.
For example, in a 2021 paper titled “The Antebellum Roots of Distinctively Black Names,” Cook copied and pasted verbatim language from Charles Calomiris and Jonathan Pritchett, without using quotation marks when describing their findings, as required.
Much of Cook’s academic work also focused on race activism rather than quantitative economics.

Trump To Fed Governor: Resign Now Or Be Fired Over Fraud Claims

The FBI raided the Maryland home of former National Security Adviser John Bolton on Friday morning as part of a national security investigation involving classified information. 
The New York Post, which first <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/08/22/us-news/patels-fbi-raids-john-boltons-home-in-high-profile-national-security-probe/">reported</a> the raid, said that it was conducted as part of a “high-profile national security probe.” FBI agents began the search around 7:00 am at Bolton’s Bethesda home, the Post reported.

Commenting on FBI Director Kash Patel&#8217;s social media post shortly after the news broke that said &#8220;NO ONE is above the law,&#8221; FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said &#8220;Public corruption will not be tolerated,&#8221; and Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote, &#8220;America’s safety isn’t negotiable. Justice will be pursued. Always.&#8221;
Fox News reported that FBI agents were also seen removing boxes out of Bolton&#8217;s office in Washington, D.C.
When asked about the raid, the FBI told NBC News that it was &#8220;conducting court authorized activity in the area. There is no threat to public safety.&#8221;
The Post also reported that an official said that a previous investigation into Bolton had been quashed “for political reasons.” 
President Donald Trump said Friday morning that he did not know about the raid until he saw the news.
&#8220;I saw it on television this morning. I&#8217;m not a fan of John Bolton. He&#8217;s a real&#8230;lowlife,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;He&#8217;s not a smart guy. But he could be a very unpatriotic guy&#8230;we&#8217;re going find out. I know nothing about it.&#8221;
Bolton served in the first Trump administration from April 2018 until September 2019. After Bolton left the White House, he became a frequent critic of Trump. Bolton was previously the ambassador to the United Nations under President George W. Bush. 
In 2020, he published a book called “The Room Where it Happened” that the Trump administration argued endangered national security. Trump’s Justice Department sued to block its publication and distribution, but that lawsuit was ultimately dismissed after Joe Biden became president in 2021.

The book was cited as one of the reasons for the Trump administration to yank Bolton’s security clearance earlier this year. 
“The book was rife with sensitive information drawn from his time in government,” the White House <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/holding-former-government-officials-accountablefor-election-interference-and-improper-disclosure-of-sensitive-governmental-information/">said</a>. “The memoir’s reckless treatment of sensitive information undermined the ability of future presidents to request and obtain candid advice on matters of national security from their staff.  Publication also created a grave risk that classified material was publicly exposed.”
Trump also moved to pull the Secret Service security detail that was assigned to protect Bolton shortly after he took office in January 2025. Last week, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/he-really-really-hates-the-president-ex-trump-chief-of-staff-unloads-on-john-bolton">slammed</a> Bolton as &#8220;dumb&#8221; in a Truth Social post written in response to criticism over his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 
CNN reported that Bolton was not home at the time of the raid.

FBI Raids Home Of Former Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton

Nearly two months after winning a landmark Supreme Court case that cemented states&#8217; ability to protect kids from transgender medical procedures, Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti says the decision triggered a nationwide reckoning on radical gender ideology. 
The case, United States v. Skrmetti, centered on a Tennessee law that prohibited doctors from performing transgender surgeries on kids and giving them puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. Discussing the impact of the case during an interview in Nashville with The Daily Wire at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/america-is-not-a-short-term-thing-lawmakers-urge-young-republicans-take-up-the-fight">National Young Republican Convention</a>, Skrmetti said that the case may have sounded the death knell for radical gender ideology. 
“It&#8217;s almost like there was a balloon that kept getting filled up and filled up and filled up with this radical ideology. And as soon as it&#8217;s popped, all the air’s gone and everybody starts looking around and realizing, you know, maybe they did something they shouldn&#8217;t have,” he said, noting that the public&#8217;s faith in so-called medical experts had been shattered because of their promotion of transgender ideology. 
“The biggest thing that surprised me is the cultural effect, because it seems like it&#8217;s really sparked a lot of introspection about how we got to where we were, and a lot of people kind of went along with what they were hearing from experts are questioning the validity of that,” Skrmetti said.
In the years leading up to the Supreme Court clash, hospitals across the country opened gender clinics for kids, and groups like the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association all promoted the life-altering procedures.
The ruling coincided with efforts from the Trump administration to crack down on hospitals nationwide that have performed gender procedures on kids. Skrmetti pointed out that some hospitals may now face legal repercussions for performing transgender procedures on kids. 
For example, detransitioner Chloe Cole has sued the doctors who oversaw the removal of her breasts and hormone procedures, accusing them of pushing her to medically and surgically attempt to change her gender while she was struggling with mental illness and was incapable of fully consenting as a minor.
“If you give a kid a life altering procedure and it turns out that there was any coercion or that they didn&#8217;t really consent or that you were doing it knowing about risks that you didn&#8217;t disclose or whatever, that could potentially cost some of the hospitals that have done this incredible amounts of money,” Skrmetti said. 
Skrimetti said that he was unaware of any hospitals in Tennessee that were not complying with state law, adding that it would be “bonkers” to do so.

The Tennessee official added that he had expected to end up before the Supreme Court at some point during his tenure as attorney general, but that he hadn&#8217;t expected it to be such a high-profile case. The case came after the ACLU and the Biden administration sued Tennessee over the law. Tennessee was represented by Matthew Rice, the state&#8217;s solicitor general and a former professional baseball player. Skrmetti praised Rice for spending months preparing for oral arguments. 
Remembering the atmosphere of the case, Skrmetti described the Supreme Court as “a really special place,” adding that “you feel the weight of history in there.” 
Skrmetti added that it was surreal to be sitting so close to the justices of the court alongside Tennessee Solicitor General Matt Rice, who argued the case. He said he didn’t expect ever to have a similar experience again.
“I read about them all the time,” he said. “They&#8217;re the justices of the Supreme Court, and then all of a sudden, you&#8217;re sitting there in a case with your name on it, with Justice Gorsuch and Justice Barrett, like 10 feet away. It almost doesn&#8217;t feel real.”
Tennessee&#8217;s victory at the Supreme Court has already had legal ramifications for other states looking to shield kids from transgender procedures. Last week, a federal appeals court overturned Arkansas&#8217;s first-in-the-nation ban on such procedures, citing the Skrmetti ruling.

‘All The Air’s Gone’: Tennessee AG Says SCOTUS Win Deflated Transgender Movement

ICE arrested a Mexican man who killed his nephew while driving drunk in Texas, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire on Thursday.
The department arrested 39-year-old Mexican national Jose Luis Gonzalez-Montiel alongside four other “worst of the worst” criminal aliens during enforcement operations on Wednesday. The arrests come as the Trump administration seeks to carry out the president’s mass deportation plans.
Gonzalez-Montiel was convicted of intoxicated manslaughter in Bexar County, Texas, after he drove off the road near San Antonio in his Ford SUV with his nephew in the vehicle back in 2017. Both Gonzalez-Montiel and his nephew were ejected from the vehicle.
Gonzalez-Montiel was arrested on vehicular manslaughter charges after his nephew died from his injuries 13 days after the crash. He <a href="https://foxsanantonio.com/news/local/accused-drunk-driver-apologizes-for-deadly-crash-at-victims-memorial-service-say-police">reportedly</a> told police that he drank up to eight beers before driving.
“Every single day, our brave ICE law enforcement risk their lives to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens,” a senior official with the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. “From pedophiles to drunk drivers killing innocent people, President Trump and Secretary Noem will not allow criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American citizens. Our message to criminal illegals is clear: LEAVE NOW. If you don’t, we will find you and we will deport you.”

The department also picked up multiple other criminal illegal aliens on Wednesday, convicted of heinous crimes from the East to the West coast.
ICE arrested 58-year-old Viroth Phannavong, an illegal alien from Laos, convicted of first-degree child molestation in Providence, Rhode Island. His crime <a href="https://law.justia.com/cases/rhode-island/supreme-court/2011/10-256.html">involved</a> molesting the daughter of his former girlfriend.
The agency also arrested 40-year-old Meljim Ramirez-Perez, an illegal alien from Guatemala convicted of continuous sex abuse of a child in Los Angeles; 35-year-old Andre Etienne, a criminal illegal alien from Jamaica convicted of child molestation in Conyers, Georgia; and 45-year-old Zhiping Liu, an illegal alien from China convicted of theft by extortion in Brookville, Pennsylvania, Homeland Security told The Daily Wire.
Under Trump, ICE arrests have surged as the agency targets illegal aliens convicted of violent crimes.

EXCLUSIVE: ICE Nabs Mexican National Who Killed Nephew In Drunken Crash

A top IRS lawyer who once advocated for action to “resist” President Donald Trump has been placed on administrative leave as officials probe whether he has put his words into action at the powerful tax-collecting agency, The Daily Wire has learned.
The inquiry was launched after The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-irs-lawyer-under-trump-pledged-to-resist-president-is-former-dem-aide?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Top+IRS+Lawyer+Under+Trump+Pledged+To+%E2%80%98Resist%E2%80%99+President%2C+Is+Former+Dem+Aide">reported</a> on Wednesday that Anthony Sacco, a lawyer for the IRS Chief Counsel’s office, has a history of advocating for far-left positions, including fighting back against Trump, whom he now serves under. Sacco holds a key role at the IRS, where he interprets how convoluted federal tax law is applied in specific situations. 
Sacco was brought on by the Biden administration as a career employee in September 2022. The vast majority of positions at the IRS are considered career roles, with only the commissioner and chief counsel being politically appointed. Before joining the IRS, Sacco <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthony-sacco-5a4319a4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">worked</a> under Oregon Democratic Senator Ron Wyden for the Senate Finance Committee, according to his LinkedIn.

In his role at the IRS, Sacco has co-authored multiple revenue rulings under both Biden and Trump, including as recently as April 17, 2025. Revenue rulings are authoritative IRS interpretations of how tax laws are applied by agency officials. 
Sacco locked his X account shortly after The Daily Wire reached out to him for comment, but not before his posts were archived. His posts included calls for Democrats to “pack” the Supreme Court as a way to &#8220;resist&#8221; Trump.

The disciplinary action came as the Trump administration works to root out government bureaucrats who may attempt to stymie the president&#8217;s agenda.
On Thursday, Treasury Secretary and Acting IRS Commissioner Scott Bessent received a briefing from IRS officials that included a discussion of the Trump administration&#8217;s push to de-weaponize the federal government, the department told The Daily Wire. They discussed Bessent&#8217;s desire to make the IRS a non-political agency after years of accusations that it was targeting Christian groups and conservative advocacy organizations. 
Present at the meeting were IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who investigated Hunter Biden over his shady tax practices. Both Shapley and Ziegler said the Biden administration retaliated against them based on their investigation into Hunter.

When made aware of the posts, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) called for Sacco to be fired. 
“With deep state leftists in its leadership, it is no wonder the IRS has repeatedly targeted conservatives and conservative organizations,” Cotton told The Daily Wire on Wednesday. “This individual should be fired immediately.”
In another post, he shared a call from anthem-kneeler Colin Kaepernick to “abolish” the “white supremacist institution of policing” and another post that claimed “policing is based on race” and that the job itself was “racist.”

‘Resist’ IRS Lawyer Put On Leave After Daily Wire Report On Far-Left Advocacy

The European Union will move to end all tariffs on U.S. industrial goods and invest billions of dollars in the American economy as part of a wide-ranging trade deal, according to a framework of the agreement released Thursday. 
More details of the trade deal first agreed to last month were outlined in a <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/2025/08/joint-statement-on-a-united-states-european-union-framework-on-an-agreement-on-reciprocal-fair-and-balanced-trade/">joint statement</a> from the White House and the European Union. The plan stipulates that the European Union will “eliminate tariffs” on all American industrial goods and give preferential market access to seafood and agricultural products from the United States. The deal will set the total tariff rate for most European goods coming into the United States at 15%, including pharmaceuticals, lumber, and semiconductors. 
“This Framework Agreement will put our trade and investment relationship – one of the largest in the world — on a solid footing and will reinvigorate our economies’ reindustrialization,” the statement said. “It reflects acknowledgement by the European Union of the concerns of the United States and our joint determination to resolve our trade imbalances and unleash the full potential of our combined economic power.”
The joint statement comes after President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-secures-biggest-of-all-trade-deals-with-eu">announced</a> that they had negotiated a trade deal last month in Scotland. 
The agreement adds that the European Union will also buy around $750 billion of American liquified natural gas, oil, and nuclear energy products through 2028 and buy $40 billion in American AI chips for its computing centers. Additionally, European companies are expected to invest another $600 billion into the American economy through 2028.

“This investment reflects the European Union’s strong commitment to the transatlantic partnership and its recognition of the United States as the most secure and innovative destination for foreign investment,” the framework said. 
The United States will reduce tariffs on European cars and autoparts once Europe takes concrete steps to end tariffs on American industrial goods. Tariffs on European cars are currently set at 27.5%. 
Europe will also agree to “substantially increase procurement of military and defense equipment from the United States, with the support and facilitation of the U.S. government” to strengthen NATO and transatlantic defense cooperation. 
Von der Leyen <a href="https://x.com/vonderleyen/status/1958485259407786268">said</a> the framework would bring “predictability for our companies &amp; consumers,” “stability in the largest trading partnership in the world,” and “security for European jobs &amp; economic growth in the long-term.”
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also praised the trade agreement, calling it “historic.”
“The America First Trade Agenda has secured the most important trading partner creating a major win for American workers, U.S. industries, and our national security,” he posted on X. “Tariffs should be one of America’s favorite words.”
