Trump: Pelosi’s ‘Tantrum’ Claim Is ‘A Lie,’ And There’s Proof

   DailyWire.com

After a closed-door infrastructure meeting unraveled Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA) accused President Trump of throwing “a temper tantrum for us all to see” — refusing to shake hands with Democratic leaders and storming out, in a rage about the Democrats’ attempts to effectively get a “do-over” on the Mueller report. But in a tweet Wednesday night, Trump said Pelosi’s characterization of his actions is “a lie” that’s “easily proven.”

“In a letter to her House colleagues, Nancy Pelosi said: ‘President Trump had a temper tantrum for us all to see.’ This is not true. I was purposely very polite and calm, much as I was minutes later with the press in the Rose Garden. Can be easily proven. It is all such a lie!” Trump wrote.

“Zero is getting done with the Democrats in charge of the House. All they want to do is put the Mueller Report behind them and start all over again. No Do-Overs!” he added in a pair of follow-up tweets. “Democrats don’t want to fix the loopholes at the Border. They don’t want to do anything. Open Borders and crime!”

The breakdown of the meeting Wednesday inspired breathless media coverage about the potential “fallout,” with outlets like USA Today portraying the “warfare” between Trump and Pelosi as “risk[ing] even more gridlock” and potentially derailing Trump’s attempts to replace NAFTA with a new trade deal with Canada and Mexico.

“Trump has already indicated he’s prepared to push most of his legislative agenda off until after the 2020 election, a recognition that Democrats and Republicans were unlikely to reach consensus on much of anything as nearly two dozen Democratic presidential candidates barnstorm early primary states in the hunt for the nomination,” USA Today reported.

Prior to his “such a lie” tweet, Trump berated Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (NY), and Rep. Adam Schiff (CA) for wasting “tremendous” time and energy “playing their games” with their various investigations.

“So sad that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will never be able to see or understand the great promise of our Country,” Trump wrote in a series of tweets Wednesday. “They can continue the Witch Hunt which has already cost $40M and been a tremendous waste of time and energy for everyone in America, or get back to work. But they really want a do-over! You can’t investigate and legislate simultaneously — it just doesn’t work that way. You can’t go down two tracks at the same time. Let Chuck, Nancy, Jerry, Adam and all of the rest finish playing their games. In the meantime, my Administration is achieving things that have never been done before, including unleashing perhaps the Greatest Economy in our Country’s history. Democrat leadership is tearing the United States apart, but I will continue to set records for the American People — and Nancy, thank you so much for your prayers, I know you truly mean it!”
