<p>President-elect Donald Trump is throwing his support behind two candidates to replace Florida Reps. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/matt-gaetz-says-he-will-not-rejoin-congress-after-withdrawing-from-ag-consideration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matt Gaetz</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-taps-mike-waltz-as-national-security-advisor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Waltz</a>, after Gaetz resigned from Congress and Waltz was tapped to serve as Trump&#8217;s national security adviser.</p>
<p>Trump is backing Florida&#8217;s chief financial officer Jimmy Patronis to take Gaetz&#8217;s place and endorsed state lawmaker Randy Fine to fill Waltz&#8217;s seat.</p>
<p>Trump urged Patronis to run for the 1st district seat, writing on Monday, &#8220;As your next Congressman, Jimmy would work tirelessly alongside of me to Grow our Economy, Secure our Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Incredible Military/Vets, Restore American Energy DOMINANCE, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.&#8221;</p>

<p>President Donald Trump said on Friday that U.S. Steel will partner with the Japanese company Nippon Steel, and remain headquartered in Pittsburgh.</p>
<p>The partnership comes after Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-revives-possible-sale-of-u-s-steel-to-japans-nippon-steel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ordered</a> a review of the possible sale of U.S. Steel to Nippon Steel in April. Former President Joe Biden blocked the $14.9 billion sale of U.S. Steel to Nippon Steel, citing national security concerns and risks to U.S. supply chains. Now, the two companies will form a &#8220;planned partnership&#8221; that will result in 70,000 jobs, according to the president.</p>
<p>&#8220;I am proud to announce that, after much consideration and negotiation, U.S. Steel will REMAIN in America, and keep its Headquarters in the Great City of Pittsburgh,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;For many years, the name, &#8216;United States Steel&#8217; was synonymous with Greatness, and now, it will be again. This will be a planned partnership between United States Steel and Nippon Steel, which will create at least 70,000 jobs, and add $14 Billion Dollars to the U.S. Economy.&#8221;</p>

<p>In December, one month before Biden blocked the deal, Trump said he also opposed the sale to the foreign company, vowing to &#8220;make U.S. Steel Strong and Great Again.&#8221; The White House confirmed that Trump received a recommendation from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., which reviewed the proposed deal between the American and Japanese steel companies, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-05-23/trump-backs-us-steel-nippon-partnership-following-cfius-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Trump reportedly spoke with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba over the phone on Friday, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick met with Japan&#8217;s top trade negotiator to discuss tariffs. It&#8217;s unclear if either of those conversations included talks about the U.S. Steel-Nippon deal. Trump added that he will speak at a &#8220;BIG Rally&#8221; in Pittsburgh on Friday, May 30.</p>

‘Made In America’: Trump Says U.S. Steel Will Remain In Pittsburgh, Partner With Japanese Company

<p>Elon Musk, who has taken a step back from his role in the Trump administration, said on Friday that he came to the &#8220;obvious conclusion&#8221; that &#8220;accelerating GDP growth is essential&#8221; to saving the United States from the national debt crisis.</p>
<p>Musk, whose massive donations to President Donald Trump and Republicans in 2024 helped secure the White House and Congress for the GOP, said earlier this week that he would donate &#8220;a lot less in the future&#8221; in political contributions. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has also taken a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-significantly-cut-back-doge-time" target="_blank" rel="noopener">step back</a> from his role guiding the Department of Government Efficiency to focus more on his companies.</p>
<p>Responding to a conversation on X about the Republicans&#8217; &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; Musk revealed more of his thinking on his decision, which he confirmed was focused on pushing for &#8220;radical&#8221; GDP growth through humanoid robots.</p>
<p>The conversation was sparked when one X user <a href="https://x.com/BarrettHoffarth/status/1925595695610044438" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, &#8220;Given the disastrous GOP bill, the only chance the US has is explosive GDP growth. If that doesn&#8217;t happen in the next 2-3 years, we are cooked.&#8221;</p>
<p>Another person <a href="https://x.com/BarrettHoffarth/status/1925595695610044438" target="_blank" rel="noopener">replied</a> to the post, writing, &#8220;I wonder if this [is] why Elon has somewhat moved away from politics in order to accelerate GDP growth with humanoid robots. If he believes this is the only solution then this would be his most logical choice.&#8221;</p>
<p>Musk, who goes by the name &#8220;Kekius Maximus&#8221; on X, <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1925787762927554651" target="_blank" rel="noopener">responded</a> to the second post and confirmed that it accurately depicted his thinking on the issue.</p>
<p>&#8220;I have come to the perhaps obvious conclusion that accelerating GDP growth is essential. @DOGE has and will do great work to postpone the day of bankruptcy of America, but the profligacy of government means that only radical improvements in productivity can save our country,&#8221; Musk <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1925975507759243741" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>.</p>
<p>Tesla is currently <a href="https://www.tesla.com/AI#:~:text=Tesla%20Optimus,of%20our%20hardest%20engineering%20challenges." target="_blank" rel="noopener">developing</a> an &#8220;autonomous humanoid robot capable of performing unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks.&#8221; Musk appears to be re-focusing on the project after spending months around the White House advising President Donald Trump and pushing to cut government spending. Last week, the Tesla CEO posted a clip of a robot dancing with human-like movements.</p>

Musk Reveals More About His Decision To Step Back From Politics … And It Involves Humanoid Robots

<p>Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent argued on Friday that the country&#8217;s massive debt can be controlled by growing the U.S. economy.</p>
<p>Bessent addressed concerns over President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill&#8221; adding to the national deficit during a segment with Fox News host Bill Hemmer. A Congressional Budget Office <a href="https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/2025-05/61422-Reconciliation-Distributional-Analysis.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> released earlier this week said the Republican bill passed by the House on early Thursday morning will add $3.8 trillion to the deficit over the next decade. The national debt is <a href="https://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rapidly approaching</a> $37 trillion as the federal deficit currently sits at over $2 trillion.</p>
<p>&#8220;We think that we can both grow the economy and control the debt,&#8221; Bessent said. &#8220;And what&#8217;s important, Bill, is that the economy grows faster than the debt.&#8221;</p>
<p>He added that Americans should focus on the debt-to-GDP ratio &#8220;because we can grow our way out of this.&#8221; In December, U.S. debt accounted for <a href="https://www.ceicdata.com/en/indicator/united-states/government-debt--of-nominal-gdp#:~:text=United%20States%20Government%20Debt:%20%25%20of%20GDP,-1969%20%2D%202024%20%7C%20Quarterly&amp;text=United%20States%20Government%20debt%20accounted,Mar%201969%20to%20Dec%202024." target="_blank" rel="noopener">124%</a> of the nation&#8217;s nominal GDP, which was down from the all-time high of 130.4% in March of 2021.</p>

<p>The approach touted by Bessent focuses on reducing taxes, a major part of Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill.&#8221; The idea is that lower taxes and deregulation will create a thriving economy and boost manufacturing, sales, and consumer spending, which will in turn increase tax revenue without raising taxes.</p>
<p>Last year, however, the Congressional Budget Office <a href="https://www.cbo.gov/publication/59711" target="_blank" rel="noopener">projected</a> that the deficit would continue to outpace economic growth over the next 30 years.</p>

<p>&#8220;The deficit increases significantly in relation to gross domestic product (GDP) over the next 30 years, reaching 8.5 percent of GDP in 2054,&#8221; the office stated. &#8220;That growth results from rising interest costs and large and sustained primary deficits, which exclude net outlays for interest.&#8221;</p>
<p>During the 2024 campaign, Bessent said that his goal is to &#8220;cut the deficit to 3% by 2028; achieve 3% real economic growth, largely through deregulation; and then add 3 million new barrels of energy per day.&#8221; He told <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-08-07/five-questions-for-trump-adviser-and-key-square-group-founder-scott-bessent?sref=17aozLHf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bloomberg</a> that Trump is concerned about addressing the national debt and wants to get it under control &#8220;without causing a recession.&#8221;</p>
<p>Some conservative Republicans raised concerns about Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill&#8221; not doing enough to cut back on government spending. Two House Republicans, Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Warren Davidson of Ohio, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/gop-holdouts-sound-alarm-36t-debt-crisis-trumps-big-beautiful-bill-passes-house-vote" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted against</a> the legislation, citing the federal deficit.</p>
<p>&#8220;While I love many things in the bill, promising someone else will cut spending in the future does not cut spending. Deficits do matter and this bill grows them now. The only Congress we can control is the one we’re in. Consequently, I cannot support this big deficit plan. NO,&#8221; Davidson said on Thursday.</p>
<p>The White House called the two GOP congressmen &#8220;grandstanders.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think he likes to see grandstanders in Congress,&#8221; White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said of Trump&#8217;s thoughts on Massie and Davidson. &#8220;What&#8217;s the alternative? I would ask those members of Congress. Did they want to see a tax hike? Did they want to see our country go bankrupt? That&#8217;s the alternative by them trying to vote ‘no.’ The president believes the Republican Party needs to be unified.&#8221;</p>
<p>In the Senate, the bill faces more hurdles as multiple Republicans have raised concerns on numerous topics. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5314189-rand-paul-house-gop-budget-bill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he will vote against the bill unless they &#8220;take the debt ceiling off of it.&#8221;</p>
<p>“We’ve never, ever voted to raise the debt ceiling this much. It’ll be a historic increase. I think it’s not good for conservatives to be on record supporting a $4 [trillion] or $5 trillion increase in the debt ceiling,” Paul said.</p>

Bessent Says U.S. Can ‘Grow Our Way Out Of’ National Debt Crisis By Focusing On Economy

<p>President Donald Trump announced on Friday morning that Ukraine and Russia were completing a &#8220;major&#8221; prisoner exchange as the United States continues to seek peace between the two nations.</p>
<p>The deal, which was agreed to last week, swaps 1,000 prisoners each between Ukraine and Russia, making it the largest prisoner exchange of the war, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/23/world/europe/ukraine-russia-prisoner-swap.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Trump congratulated the countries on the agreement and hinted that it &#8220;could lead to something big.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;A major prisoners swap was just completed between Russia and Ukraine. It will go into effect shortly,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114556494480941887" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Truth Social early Friday morning. &#8220;Congratulations to both sides on this negotiation. This could lead to something big???&#8221;</p>
<p>Earlier this week, Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to begin ceasefire negotiations with Ukraine, adding that the talks could be held at the Vatican. Trump <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/23/world/europe/ukraine-russia-prisoner-swap.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made the announcement</a> after a two-hour phone call with the Russian despot.</p>
<p>“Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War,” Trump said on Monday. “The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of.”</p>
<p>While Trump administration officials have met with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the two leaders have yet to negotiate with each other. Last week, Zelensky met with Russian officials in Turkey as Putin skipped the meeting. Trump said last Friday that he understood why Putin didn&#8217;t attend the meeting, adding that he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-putin-blows-off-peace-talks-trump-gives-timeline-for-meeting-with-russian-prez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">planned</a> to meet with the Russian president &#8220;as soon as possible.&#8221;</p>

<p>During the talks in Turkey, Ukraine and Russia agreed to the prisoner swap, but Russian officials <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/16/world/europe/russia-ukraine-peace-talks.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> said they would not agree to a ceasefire unless Ukraine withdraws from four regions in eastern Ukraine that Russian forces took over in 2022.</p>
<p>&#8220;The agreement to release 1,000 of our people from Russian captivity became perhaps the only tangible result of the meeting in Turkey,” Zelensky said following the meeting. “We are working to ensure this result is delivered.”</p>
<p>Ending the war in Ukraine has been a top foreign policy goal for President Trump, who promised on the campaign trail that the conflict would end by his first day back in the White House. Peace talks between the countries, however, have hit multiple roadblocks, and the Trump administration has suggested that it is willing to walk away from further negotiations if Ukraine and Russia don&#8217;t make progress soon.</p>
<p>Trump, however, remains optimistic that he can work out a deal between Putin and Zelensky to end the bloodshed, saying last week that &#8220;in two or three weeks we could have it be a much, much safer place.&#8221;</p>

<p>FBI Director Kash Patel called the Wednesday night <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israeli-embassy-staff-murdered-by-unidentified-shooter-outside-capitol-jewish-museum?topStoryPosition=undefined&amp;author=Kassy+Akiva&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=1&amp;rowHeadline=Top+Stories&amp;rowType=Top+Stories&amp;title=Two+Israeli+Embassy+Staffers+Murdered+By+Keffiyeh-Wearing+Man+Shouting+%E2%80%98Free+Palestine%E2%80%99+In+DC" target="_blank" rel="noopener">killings</a> of Israeli Embassy staffers Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Milgram, 26, an &#8220;act of terror&#8221; and vowed to pursue justice with &#8220;the full weight of federal law enforcement.&#8221;</p>
<p>Lischinsky and Milgram, who were about to be engaged to be married, were gunned down outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., which was hosting a Young Diplomats Reception for young Jewish professionals. The suspect detained following the killings was identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, a Chicago resident with far-Left views who reportedly put on a keffiyeh and shouted &#8220;free Palestine&#8221; after fatally shooting the couple.</p>
<p>&#8220;Last night’s act of terror has the full attention of the FBI,&#8221; Patel <a href="https://x.com/FBIDirectorKash/status/1925580650381238714" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on X on Thursday. &#8220;Targeted anti-Semitic violence is an attack on our core values and will be met with the full weight of federal law enforcement. The individual responsible will be held accountable, and the Bureau will continue pursuing every lead until justice is served.&#8221;</p>
<p>The FBI raided Rodriguez&#8217;s Chicago apartment Thursday morning, but authorities have yet to release any information on what was recovered in the raid. Rodriguez worked for the American Osteopathic Information Association and was once associated with a branch of the far-Left Party for Socialism and Liberation, which pushes anti-Israel views.</p>

<p>The Party for Socialism and Liberation distanced itself from Rodriguez, writing, “We reject any attempt to associate the PSL with the DC shooting. Elias Rodriguez is not a member of the PSL. He had a brief association with one branch of the PSL that ended in 2017. We know of no contact with him in over 7 years. We have nothing to do with this shooting and do not support it.”</p>
<p>Rodriguez received his bachelor&#8217;s degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago and wrote for the <a href="https://www.thehistorymakers.org/about-the-historymakers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">History Makers</a>, a non-profit organization &#8220;committed to preserving and making widely accessible the untold personal stories of both well-known and unsung African Americans.&#8221;</p>
<p>Authorities are also looking to determine the authenticity of a 900-page <a href="https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/the-israel-embassy-shooter-manifesto" target="_blank" rel="noopener">manifesto</a> that has been tied to the alleged shooter. In the manifesto, which was published by independent journalist Ken Klippenstein, the writer rages against Israel&#8217;s war against Hamas in Gaza, calling it a &#8220;genocide&#8221; and arguing that &#8220;the perpetrators and abettors have forfeited their humanity.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dan Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, <a href="https://x.com/FBIDDBongino/status/1925580947463762139" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, &#8220;The FBI is aware of certain writings allegedly authored by the suspect, and we hope to have updates as to the authenticity very soon.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The subject is in custody and interviewed last night at approximately 1am. As this is a pending investigation, we will share more with you when we are able,&#8221; Bongino added. &#8220;As our [Washington Field Office] said, the FBI believes there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time. At the same time, I want the public to be assured we are following up on any additional leads to ensure we do our complete and total due diligence on this.&#8221;</p>

FBI Director Calls Slaying Of Israeli Embassy Staffers An ‘Act Of Terror’

<p>Jim Irsay, the longtime owner of the Indianapolis Colts, died on Wednesday afternoon. He was 65.</p>
<p>According to the team, Irsay &#8220;passed away peacefully in his sleep.&#8221; He was one of the most recognized team owners in the NFL, taking over the Colts franchise in 1997 after the death of his father, Robert Irsay.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are devastated to announce our beloved Owner &amp; CEO, Jim Irsay, passed away peacefully in his sleep this afternoon,&#8221; said Colts chief operating officer Pete Ward, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45259729/indianapolis-colts-owner-ceo-jim-irsay-dies-65" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ESPN</a>. &#8220;Jim&#8217;s dedication and passion for the Indianapolis Colts in addition to his generosity, commitment to the community, and most importantly, his love for his family were unsurpassed.&#8221;</p>
<p>No cause of death was provided. Irsay is survived by his three daughters and 10 grandchildren.</p>
<p>After taking over in 1997 and selecting legendary quarterback Peyton Manning in the 1998 draft, Irsay built the Colts into one of the best teams in the NFL, winning the Super Bowl in 2007 and the AFC championship in 2009. Irsay made the difficult decision to release Manning in 2012 after the then-35-year-old star quarterback underwent neck surgery. Manning went on to lead the Denver Broncos to two Super Bowls, winning one of them.</p>
<p>&#8220;I am heartbroken to hear about Jim Irsay&#8217;s passing,&#8221; Manning wrote in a post on Instagram. &#8220;He was an incredibly generous and passionate owner and I will always be indebted to him for giving me my start in the NFL. His love for the Colts and the city of Indy was unmatched. His impact on the players who played for him will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone in the Colts community. He will be missed. Jim, rest in peace my friend.&#8221;</p>

<p>Along with owning the Colts, Irsay was also known for his philanthropic work and his huge Rock &amp; Roll <a href="https://www.jimirsaycollection.com/about" target="_blank" rel="noopener">collection</a>, which includes instruments and items owned by Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and many others. Irsay also purchased the original handwritten scroll of Jack Kerouac&#8217;s &#8220;On the Road&#8221; in 2001. The Colts owner often loaned some of his collection to museums, nonprofits, and other organizations to display or research.</p>
<p>Irsay struggled with prescription drug abuse, an issue that the Colts owner said almost killed him. In 2014, Irsay was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was suspended by the NFL, and then in 2023, he was found unresponsive in his bedroom from a suspected overdose. Shortly after the incident, the team said Irsay was recovering from a &#8220;severe respiratory illness.&#8221; Irsay made few public appearances in the months leading up to his death.</p>
<p>Ownership of the team will likely transfer to his daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson. His oldest daughter, Irsay-Gordon, will &#8220;primarily take charge of the football side of the franchise,&#8221; The Indianapolis Star <a href="https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2025/05/21/carlie-irsay-gordon-colts-jim-irsay/72274815007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Irsay-Gordon previously took over for her father when he was suspended during the 2014 season and during his treatment at rehabilitation centers.</p>
