<p>President-elect Donald Trump endorsed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Monday to once again lead the U.S. House of Representatives.</p>
<p>The news comes after days of speculation that some House Republicans would challenge Johnson&#8217;s speakership as the GOP is once again in the majority by a razor-thin margin.</p>
<p>&#8220;LETS NOT BLOW THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY WHICH WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN,&#8221; Trump posted on social media. &#8220;The American people need IMMEDIATE relief from all of the destructive policies of the last Administration. Speaker Mike Johnson is a good, hard working, religious man. He will do the right thing, and we will continue to WIN. Mike has my Complete &amp; Total Endorsement. MAGA!!!&#8221;</p>
<p>Johnson responded to the endorsement by thanking Trump, adding that he was &#8220;honored and humbled by [his] support, as always.&#8221;</p>

<p>The rest of Trump&#8217;s statement focused on the results of the 2024 elections. He said that the primary reason the Republican Party won was that it was the party of &#8220;common sense.&#8221;</p>
