The Department of Justice is suing the state of Minnesota over a law providing in-state tuition for illegal aliens.
“No state can be allowed to treat Americans like second-class citizens in their own country by offering financial benefits to illegal aliens,” Attorney General Pam Bondi <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-files-complaint-challenging-minnesota-laws-providing-state-tuition">said</a> in a press release.
The lawsuit targets the Minnesota Dream Act, which <a href="https://ohe.mn.gov/mn-dream-act">allows</a> &#8220;undocumented students&#8221; to apply for in-state tuition and state financial aid. The law was passed in 2013.
The DOJ said the law contradicts federal law prohibiting &#8220;postsecondary education benefits to aliens that are not offered to U.S. citizens.&#8221;
The Minnesota laws allow illegal aliens to apply for in-state and free tuition.
&#8220;These laws blatantly conflict with federal law and thus are unconstitutional under the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution,&#8221; the department said.
The suit also names Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and the Minnesota Office of Higher Education.
&#8220;The Department of Justice just won on this exact issue in Texas, and we look forward to taking this fight to Minnesota in order to protect the rights of American citizens first,&#8221; Bondi said.
Texas ended its in-state tuition programs for illegal aliens hours after the DOJ filed a lawsuit, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/texas-ends-benefit-program-for-illegal-immigrants-after-justice-department-suit">reported</a>.
&#8220;Ending this discriminatory and un-American provision is a major victory for Texas,&#8221; Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said at the time.
A Texas judge granted a permanent injunction against the law.
&#8220;Other states should take note that we will continue filing affirmative litigation to remedy unconstitutional state laws that discriminate against American citizens,&#8221; Bondi <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-texas-reach-agreement-end-state-tuition-illegal-aliens?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery">said</a> at the time.
In March, President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/protecting-american-communities-from-criminal-aliens/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery">signed</a> an executive order directing Bondi to identify and take appropriate actions to stop the enforcement of State and local laws, regulations, policies, and practices favoring aliens over any groups of American citizens that are unlawful, preempted by Federal law, or otherwise unenforceable, including State laws that provide in-State higher education tuition to aliens but not to out-of-State American citizens.&#8221;

Bernie Sanders wants to solve AI with socialism — but he doesn&#8217;t know how humans will find meaning in his socialist paradise.
The 83-year-old senior senator from Vermont recently took time off of his &#8220;Fighting Oligarchy&#8221; tour to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYVzme2fybU">appear</a> on &#8220;The Joe Rogan Experience.&#8221;
During the almost two-hour episode, Rogan asked Sanders how humans will find meaning if artificial intelligence takes jobs and the government provides for everyone&#8217;s needs.
&#8220;Andrew Yang was talking about this giant epidemic of automation in this country and the solution being universal basic income, but that&#8217;s not the solution for meaning,&#8221; Rogan said. &#8220;And how do we convince all of these people that they have to not just take this money from the government, but also take action to give themselves meaning in their lives?&#8221;
Sanders tried to reframe the question as &#8220;a revolution in human experience.&#8221;
&#8220;So throughout history, people have worked so hard just to stay alive, right?&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;If you don&#8217;t need to do work, right, because we&#8217;re wealthy enough, how do you find meaning in your life?&#8221;
Sanders called it a &#8220;trillion-dollar question&#8221; and said dependence on AI is not the answer.
&#8220;All I would say at this moment is the answer is not to fall in love with your AI creature out there,&#8221; Sanders said.
Rogan wasn&#8217;t satisfied.
&#8220;Yeah, don’t do that,&#8221; Rogan said. &#8220;But also, how do you find meaning? How do you — if all you&#8217;re doing is just getting a check, and you can just stay at home and stare at the TV, and the money keeps coming, and then you eat processed food all day, and it&#8217;s all subsidized, what is life?&#8221;
Sanders said the immediate solution is to take care of workers who lost jobs to AI.
&#8220;I think you tell those workers, you&#8217;re going to have health care as a human right, you&#8217;re going to have education as a human right, you&#8217;re going to have a decent income as a human right, and we&#8217;re going to lower — substantially lower — the work week,&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;What happens later, when even more work is eliminated, and what the purpose of human life becomes, that is a very profound question.&#8221;
&#8220;What do you think happens?&#8221; Rogan asked.
&#8220;It&#8217;s hard to imagine,&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;Then the answer will be that we are going to have to find different meaning in life. We have to find it in ourselves in ways that you don’t know and I don’t know, because we&#8217;re not there yet.&#8221;
Sanders said he doesn&#8217;t know how far out the problem is.
&#8220;But I think human beings are capable of replacing work with other emotionally satisfying things,&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;Yeah, I think we can do it.&#8221;
Rogan said the problem would be providing meaning for millions of people.
&#8220;What do you do to all those people to give them some sort of a sense of meaning?&#8221; Rogan asked. &#8220;You&#8217;re essentially redefining life for them.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t have the answer to that question,&#8221; Sanders admitted again. &#8220;That’s the problem. I don&#8217;t think anybody does.&#8221;
Despite not having an answer, the senator still managed to bring the issue back to taxing the rich.
&#8220;The people who own that technology and the corporations who utilize that [AI] technology are becoming phenomenally richer,&#8221; Sanders said. &#8220;And that is the issue. Which gets back to things like tax reform, like making sure that in America, we do not have the massive levels of income and wealth inequality that we currently have.&#8221;

Bernie Sanders Can’t Answer When Asked How Humans Find Meaning If His Socialist Dream Is Realized

New York City’s mayoral race appears to be between Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani and disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Mamdani has dominated headlines thanks to his communist <a href="https://www.zohranfornyc.com/platform">promises</a> to freeze rent prices and create city-run grocery stores. Recent polls <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-york-mayoral-hopeful-would-go-all-in-on-transing-the-kids-to-the-tune-of-65-million">show</a> him beating Cuomo in the city’s ranked-choice Democrat primary.
But the Democratic socialist isn’t the only crazy leftist in the race. Here are five of the most insane policy proposals from New York City’s mayoral candidates.
Crime-Fighting Therapists
Michael Blake, a former assemblyman who served in the Obama administration, <a href="https://blakefornyc.com/vision/publicsafetyplan/">says</a> he would hire “up to 1,000 mental health professionals” to work alongside — or instead of — law enforcement.
“These professionals will be embedded in 911 dispatch systems and trained to de-escalate emergencies without law enforcement presence,” Blake’s website <a href="https://blakefornyc.com/vision/healthandmentalhealth/">says</a>.
The professionals would include “peer specialists, social workers, and licensed clinicians.”
The goal, Blake says, is to “[ensure] that whenever possible, mental health experts — not law enforcement — take the lead in responding to crises.”
Pave Golf Courses for Affordable Housing
NYC Comptroller Brad Lander plans to solve the city’s housing crisis by <a href="https://x.com/bradlander/status/1936545628252967240">paving</a> over four municipal golf courses to build affordable housing.
“The total land area of the combined golf courses is 2,500 acres, roughly three times the size of Central Park,” Lander’s website <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/67a2f550954e9c463f4a2ef6/t/681ba98b9b089d1f4ffba0fc/1746643340249/State+of+Emergency+-+Addressing+NYC%E2%80%99s+Housing+Crisis.docx.pdf">says</a>.
Lander says four golf courses would provide 50,000 of the 500,000 homes he’s promised in his campaign.
As part of his “affirming housing” policy, Lander plans to <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/67a2f550954e9c463f4a2ef6/t/683eda613f94585b6810c3bb/1748949601775/Standing+Up+for+LGBTQ%2B+New+Yorkers.docx.pdf">build</a> “LGBTQ+ senior housing.”
Abortion “Hospitality Industry”
When Lander isn’t promising to pave golf courses, he’s turning New York City into a one-stop shop for abortion.
Lander’s website <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/67a2f550954e9c463f4a2ef6/t/6839d87967a0f1345173e3d5/1748621433533/Protecting+Reproductive+Rights.docx.pdf">promises</a> “safe, effective abortion care if the federal government limits or withdraws the ‘abortion pill.’”
Lander’s vision extends beyond the city to “build a pipeline of abortion providers for NYC and beyond” and “provide targeted, essential support for people traveling from states where abortions are banned who seek care [in New York City].”
Anti-Hate Crime Curriculum for Kindergarteners
State Senator Zellnor Myrie wants to make sure five-year-olds are anti-racists.
“As Mayor, Myrie will expand the city’s existing tolerance curriculum (which is currently only available to older students) to students aged K-5, so that all NYCDOE students, grades K-12, have access to anti-discriminatory and anti-hate curriculum,” Myrie’s website <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/661d72f5fdcd48687fb80031/t/679956e93279b30474a6e55d/1738102520471/RNYC+Public+Safety+%26+Public+Square.pdf">says</a>.
The NYC Public Schools website <a href="https://www.schools.nyc.gov/about-us/vision-and-mission/together-for-justice">offers</a> resources on discussing racism in the classroom — including from the <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/tools-and-strategies/race-talk-engaging-young-people-conversations-about-race-and-racism">Anti-Defamation League</a>, an organization that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/adl-urged-counterterrorism-agency-to-target-daily-wires-matt-walsh-other-alleged-amplifiers-of-lgbtq-hate">encouraged</a> a counterterrorism agency to open an investigation into Daily Wire host Matt Walsh.
Myrie’s policy doesn’t elaborate on the “existing tolerance curriculum,” but it probably doesn’t include Walsh’s hit <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/videos/am-i-racist">documentary</a> “Am I Racist?”
$65 Million to Trans the Kids
In addition to copying the communist playbook, Mamdani wants to spend millions on “gender-affirming” trans procedures for adults and children, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-york-mayoral-hopeful-would-go-all-in-on-transing-the-kids-to-the-tune-of-65-million">reported</a>.
Mamdani’s plan directly opposes President Donald Trump’s efforts to restrict transgender procedures for minors.
Mamdani’s administration would also “investigate and hold public hearings on hospitals that deny trans youth their rightful healthcare and hold them accountable to the law” and turn New York City into a “sanctuary city” for the LGBTQ community.

Here Are The Top Five Craziest Policy Proposals From NYC Mayor Candidates

Hours after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-rep-torched-over-reckless-call-for-mass-amnesty">calling</a> for mass amnesty for illegal aliens, a House Democrat <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqvDWm0W4kQ">accused</a> federal agents of &#8220;human trafficking.&#8221;
Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) went on &#8220;The Late Show with Stephen Colbert&#8221; on Thursday and claimed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are &#8220;terrorizing&#8221; and &#8220;kidnapping&#8221; illegal aliens.
&#8220;We have ICE federal agents pulling up, terrorizing our communities, hopping out of unmarked vans, stealing, and yes, kidnapping people, not giving them their day in court, and yes, human trafficking them to other nations, other countries around the entire world,&#8221; Frost said. &#8220;I like to be very clear about what&#8217;s going on right now so people understand that what is going on is, I believe, outside the bounds of the law.&#8221;
Frost alleged that ICE was taking away the right to due process.
&#8220;Due process is something that applies to every person in this country, regardless of your status,&#8221; Frost said. &#8220;This is from the party that likes to talk about American exceptionalism, but they want to rip away the few things that make our country actually exceptional.&#8221;

Assaults against Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have increased 500%, according to <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/06/19/exclusive-ice-agents-face-500-increase-in-assaults-while-trying-to-arrest-illegal-aliens/">Breitbart News</a>.

Assaults on ICE Agents Increase 500%

Federal agents used flash bangs, rubber bullets, and tear gas to disperse masked rioters attacking an Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland, Oregon, Wednesday night.

Hundreds of rioters marched to the building before sunset carrying signs with phrases such as &#8220;No borders&#8221; and &#8220;Nobody is illegal on stolen land,&#8221; video <a href="https://x.com/FrontlinesTPUSA/status/1935532831465431176">shows</a>. They brought helmets and respirators to the planned protest.
The situation escalated after dark, when rioters launched fireworks, shined lasers in the eyes of federal agents, and tried to block the building entrance with a dumpster.
Agents on the roof fired rubber bullets to disperse the crowd while agents on the ground moved in to break up and arrest the rioters.
The violence on Wednesday night was the latest in a series of anti-ICE riots that have raged in Portland for a week and a half. The riots began with the &#8220;No Kings&#8221; protest on June 14, which escalated into an attack on the ICE building, the Daily Caller <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2025/06/15/rioters-storm-oregon-ice-building-injure-officers/">reported</a>.
After the initial attack, Portland Mayor Keith Wilson <a href="https://www.portland.gov/mayor/keith-wilson/news/2025/6/15/mayor-wilson-addresses-no-kings-protest-and-ongoing-ice-facility">reaffirmed</a> the city&#8217;s sanctuary status but said the city would not interfere with &#8220;lawful federal enforcement operations.&#8221;
&#8220;We affirm the right to free speech and expression while emphasizing that violence, destruction, and obstruction carry consequences,&#8221; Wilson said. &#8220;Our officers will not be used as agents of ICE, but will intervene when criminal acts occur.&#8221;
