<p>President Donald Trump on Thursday dismissed the controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein as a &#8220;Democrat CON JOB,&#8221; saying that further revelations would &#8220;put an end to this HOAX.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump took to Truth Social to comment on Democrats&#8217; sudden fascination with Epstein, after years of either ignoring the case or actively blocking Republicans from releasing Epstein&#8217;s flight logs.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America, results of which many are saying is the BEST six months in Presidential history,&#8221; Trump posted.</p>

<p>Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on Thursday met with longtime Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwell — who is currently serving 20 years for her role in Epstein&#8217;s crimes — and said he planned to continue the interview Friday.</p>

Trump Dismisses Epstein Case ‘HOAX’ As His Justice Department Interviews Ghislaine Maxwell

<p>Columbia University has agreed to pay out an undisclosed sum of money to two janitors who were verbally harassed, physically assaulted, and held hostage during the anti-Israel protests that swept across the campus in the months after the October 7th massacre in Israel.</p>
<p>Lester Wilson and Mario Torres filed a <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/columbia-university-janitors-settle-case-being-held-hostage-anti-israel-rioters-campus">civil rights complaint</a> against the school after they were caught up in the student-led siege of Hamilton Hall — and barricaded inside the building with protesters who assaulted them, threatened them with violence, and called them &#8220;Jew lovers.&#8221;</p>
<p>“The university set up the situation and ended up putting them into that situation, now the issue is holding accountable those who carried it out and were responsible for the takeover and the assault,” <a href="https://brandeiscenter.com/columbia-university-janitors-ucla-jewish-community-members-sue-orgs-behind-encampments/">Brandeis Center</a> president Alyza Lewin said of their case.</p>

<p>Trump announced earlier in the week that Columbia University had agreed to pay a penalty to the federal government: $220 million, $20 million of which was to go &#8220;to their Jewish employees who were unlawfully targeted and harassed.&#8221;</p>
<p>Despite the fact that neither Wilson nor Torres is Jewish, they are expected to take their settlement from the $20 million designated to go to employees who were &#8220;unlawfully targeted&#8221; by the protests — most of whom were Jewish.</p>
<p>Both Wilson and Torres had been with the university for five years, and according to a <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/07/24/us-news/columbia-janitors-trapped-attacked-by-anti-israel-mob-settle-for-undisclosed-amount/">report</a> published Thursday by The New York Post, have not been able to return to work since the student takeover of Hamilton Hall. Both state that they were injured during the protests.</p>
<p>According to the initial complaint, Torres stated that a masked protester had approached him, saying, &#8220;I’m going to get twenty guys up here to f–k you up.&#8221;</p>
<p>Torres said that he had responded by grabbing a fire extinguisher, which he intended to use in self-defense if necessary, and said, &#8220;I’ll be right here.&#8221;</p>
<p>He said that protesters later beat him, striking his back before he was able to escape the building. Wilson, who also eventually escaped Hamilton Hall, said that he was attacked with piece of furniture.</p>
<p>Prior to the protests, both men reported multiple instances of graffiti — including swastikas — inside Hamilton Hall.</p>
<p>&#8220;Mr. Wilson recognized the swastikas as symbols of white supremacy. As an African-American man, he found the images deeply distressing. He reported them to his supervisors, who instructed him to erase the graffiti,&#8221; he alleged in the complaint. &#8220;No matter how many times Mr. Wilson removed the swastikas, individuals kept replacing them with more.&#8221;</p>
<p>Torres said that he eventually began to throw away chalk that he found left behind in classrooms, saying that he did not want to leave potential vandals anything to write with.</p>

Columbia U Forced To Pay Off Janitors Who Were Held Hostage By Anti-Israel Protesters

<p>America First Policy Institute (AFPI) filed a <a href="https://www.americafirstpolicy.com/assets/uploads/files/Oregon-1a-case-072325.pdf">federal lawsuit</a> against the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) on Wednesday, standing up for two female athletes who were relegated to the sidelines when they silently protested being forced to share the medals podium with a male athlete.</p>
<p>Jessica Hart Steinmann, executive general counsel at AFPI, <a href="https://www.americafirstpolicy.com/issues/afpi-sues-oregon-school-activities-association-for-silencing-female-athletes-first-amendment-rights">explained</a> the lawsuit filed on behalf of Alexa Anderson and Reese Eckard, who earned 3rd and 4th place medals in the high jump at the 2025 state championship meet.</p>
<p>&#8220;These young women earned their place on the podium—and the right to express themselves,&#8221; Steinmann said. &#8220;Instead of respecting their viewpoint that girls’ sports should be for girls <em>only</em>, Oregon officials sidelined them. The First Amendment protects the right to dissent—school officials don’t get to reprimand students who refuse to agree with their beliefs.&#8221;</p>
<p>The complaint alleges that the OSAA has a long history of supporting student protests when the cause aligns with officials&#8217; political views — Black Lives Matter, for example — but selectively discriminated against Anderson and Eckard. It also alleges that the trans-identifying athletes were given special privileges at that particular meet, &#8220;allowing them to skip inspection protocols and competition rules that female athletes were required to follow.&#8221;</p>
<p>Following their events at the state championship meet at the end of May, Eckard and Anderson refused to step onto the medals podium alongside the trans-identifying athlete — who had tied for fifth place. Instead, they turned their backs on the podium and stood behind it. As soon as officials realized what they were doing, they were waved off to the side.</p>

<p>Anderson later said in a statement to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/girls-track-field-athletes-dont-stand-podium-next-trans-athlete-oregon-state-championship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News Digital</a>, &#8220;We didn’t refuse to stand on the podium out of hate. We did it because someone has to say this isn’t right. In order to protect the integrity and fairness of girls [sic] sports we must stand up for what is right.&#8221;</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/sports/trans-track-athlete-wins-varsity-girls-competition-previously-placing-last-against-jv-boys-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trans-identifying athlete</a> — who now goes by the name Lia Rose — previously competed on the boys team as Zachary Rose in 2023, where he took 11th place out of 11 competitors in the JV high jump event.</p>

Lawsuit Targets Oregon Officials Who Shut Down Female Athletes Protesting Male Competitor

<p>The Washington Post is &#8220;bleeding talent,&#8221; with a number of longtime employees — from veteran opinion columnists to the obituary section chief — accepting buyout offers that the Jeff Bezos-owned outlet extended to staff in late May.</p>
<p>Early in July, Washington Post CEO Will Lewis sent an email to staffers suggesting that they might especially want to consider the buyouts if they &#8220;do not feel aligned with the company&#8217;s plan&#8221; to reinvent itself.</p>
<p>Among the changes explicitly mentioned by Lewis was a shift in the opinion section to &#8220;champion timeless American values&#8221; and to &#8220;reconnect&#8221; with the audience in a way that rekindled trust.</p>

<p>In the days since Lewis sent that email, several big names have announced their plans to depart The Washington Post — including political reporter Dan Balz, obituary section chief <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/07/24/washington-post-jeff-bezos-obituary-buyout-00473350">Adam Bernstein</a>, reporter Philip Bump, as well as columnists David von Drehle, <a href="https://x.com/crampell/status/1948096670253605297">Catherine Rampell</a>, and <a href="https://www.the-independent.com/travel/americas/washington-post-exodus-jonathan-capehart-buyout-bezos-b2793184.html">Jonathan Capehart</a>. The Post&#8217;s original TikTok pioneer, Dave Jorgenson, legal reporter Ann Marimow, and sports writer Dan Steinberg also took the buyout.</p>
<p>Reporter Joe Davidson says he left after being told that one of his opinion columns was &#8220;too opinionated.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just an absolute exodus,&#8221; one staffer told Politico of the buyouts, saying that no one was certain whether there was a plan in place to compensate for the vast amount of experience and expertise that was on its way out the door.</p>
<p>Watching the turmoil from the outside, Poynter News wondered: &#8220;How much longer can The Washington Post bleed talent?&#8221;</p>
<p>The turmoil at the Post — and, indeed, the high-profile exits — did not begin with the buyouts offered in May. Rather, the unrest within the organization dates back at least to the resignation of <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Executive Editor <a href="https://www.poynter.org/commentary/2024/why-sally-buzbees-resign-what-next-washington-post/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sally Buzbee</a> in June </span>2024. Buzbee left, according to several sources, because she was not on board with the new organizational structure Lewis planned to introduce.</p>
<p>A slew of resignations followed the outlet&#8217;s shock decision <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/all-hell-breaks-loose-after-washington-post-declines-to-endorse-kamala">not to endorse</a> former Vice President Kamala Harris. A statement from the Editorial Board read in part, &#8220;The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election. Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.&#8221;</p>
<p>In the months that followed, longtime columnist Jennifer Rubin left the outlet — followed by <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/jonathan-capehart-leaves-washington-post-buyout/">opinion editor</a> David Shipley and columnist Ruth Marcus.</p>
<p>And while a number of those who left The Washington Post have started or plan to start their own independent ventures — Rubin and Jorgenson, for example — some have been snapped up by other major outlets, including The Athletic, The Atlantic, Reuters, and The New York Times.</p>
<p>The full impact of the buyouts, which reportedly targeted employees who had been with the outlet for 10 years or longer, remains to be seen. The offer is available to employees until the end of July.</p>

‘Absolute Exodus’: Washington Post ‘Bleeds Talent’ As Experienced Staffers Take Buyout

<p>Late-night comedian Stephen Colbert is already out of a job come next May with the imminent cancellation of &#8220;The Late Show&#8221; — but if he keeps delivering network-blasting monologues, he might push CBS News to cut him loose earlier than they planned.</p>
<p>Colbert took direct aim at the network over claims that his termination was purely a financial matter — rooted in the fact that his show had put up a net loss of $40 million — and argued that his ouster was proof that CBS was “morally bankrupt.”</p>

<p>Colbert suggested that the network because it just paid out millions — to settle President Donald Trump’s lawsuit over an edited interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris that aired on “60 Minutes” — and then let him go for “financial reasons.”</p>
<p>“That means by bending the knee, they lost like $40 million this year!” Colbert declared. “They better watch out. They might get canceled … for purely financial reasons.”</p>
<p>The audience laughed and booed as he continued, “The present owners are denying that additional $20 million, which I hope is true, because could you imagine how angry people would be? Last year, Paramount laid off 2000 employees — then cut another several hundred just last month. Firing that many people and then handing over $36 million to a guy who’s putting your neighbors in alligator camps, all because of a lawsuit that your own lawyers said was completely without merit.”</p>
<p>“If that’s true, it would make CBS look morally bankrupt,” he insisted, adding, “Also bankrupt.”</p>
<p>Colbert warned several days earlier that the network’s one mistake was simple: “They left me alive.”</p>
<p>He said at the time that because he already knew his time was up in May, he no longer felt bound to censor his thoughts on the network that was letting him go or his opinions about President Trump — and he warned the audience that he did not intend to hold anything back in the months ahead.</p>
<p>With his tenure already shortened, however, the question remains just how many shots he will be allowed to take at the network that — for the time being, at least — gives him a platform.</p>

Stephen Colbert Practically Begs CBS To Fire Him Sooner In Latest Network-Blasting Monologue

<p>Pro-wrestling legend Terry Gene Bollea — known to most simply as Hulk Hogan — died on Thursday morning at the age of 71, according to a report published by TMZ Sports.</p>
<p>The report stated that emergency vehicles were dispatched to Bollea’s home in Clearwater, Florida, for what was believed to be a cardiac arrest. The vehicles reportedly remained outside his home for some time.</p>

<p>Bollea’s health has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks as reports circulated that he was “on his deathbed” or “in a coma” — both of which, TMZ reported, were denied by his wife, Sky. She said that the wrestler and actor was doing well and recovering from recent surgeries, including a procedure on his neck that he underwent in May.</p>
<p>The longtime pro-wrestler, whose boisterous personality breathed life into the WWE (then called the WWF) from 1983-1993, as he created the iconic “Hulkamania” that followed him even when he returned to the sport nearly a decade later in 2002.</p>
<p>After storming onto the scene in 1983, Hogan defeated The Iron Sheik in 1984 to win his first WWF championship. In 1990 and 1991, he became the first in history to win back-to-back <span class="M5tQyf">Royal Rumble matches.</span></p>
<p>He also had a stint with WWF rival WCW from 1994 to 2000, where he turned heel and was part of the New World Order.</p>
<p>In 2002, the WWF became the WWE. That same year, Hogan returned to the organization.</p>
<p>During his brief return to WWE, Hogan briefly held the <span class="M5tQyf">Undisputed WWF Championship,</span> holding a WWE title for the sixth and final time.<span class="pjBG2e" data-cid="48d43c9d-9697-4c4e-9d96-f3097c4aeea0"><span class="UV3uM"> </span></span></p>
<p>In 2024, he took the stage at the Republican National Convention in support of President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.</p>
