<p>Former President Donald Trump rallied supporters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Monday night — one last time on the 2024 campaign trail — giving them a &#8220;simple&#8221; message before voters head to the polls on Tuesday.</p>

<p>During the rally, he also slammed the Biden-Harris economy, <a href="https://x.com/VAKruta/status/1853612283609420053" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a>, &#8220;We handed them something beautiful, and they blew it.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Republican nominee focused much of his rally on addressing the southern border crisis, doubling down on a promise he made in North Carolina earlier that his administration would place tariffs on Mexico until it curbs the flow of migrants to the U.S. He also reiterated his campaign promise to conduct the &#8220;largest deportation program of criminals in the history of our country.&#8221;</p>
<p>At one point, Trump was joined on stage by three of his children — Don Jr., Eric, and Tiffany — along with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, and his son-in-law, Michael Boulos. While on stage with his children, he thanked them for supporting him &#8220;from the beginning.&#8221;</p>

Trump Delivers A ‘Simple’ Closing Message To Voters In Pennsylvania

<p>An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer was injured in Chicago on Friday after an illegal immigrant struck him with a vehicle. The suspect was killed in the incident.</p>
<p>A team of ICE agents was conducting “targeted law enforcement activity” at Franklin Park when a suspect was asked to stop his vehicle, but continued to drive, hitting an agent and “subsequently dragging him as he fled the scene,” an ICE spokesman <a href="https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/person-shot-after-ice-agent-apparently-dragged-by-vehicle-in-franklin-park-sources-say/3823259/">told</a> NBC 5 Chicago.</p>
<p>The agent, “fearing for his life,” shot the driver. The agent and suspect were taken to a hospital, where the Department of Homeland Security later identified the victim as Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, who was pronounced dead. The DHS said that Villegas-Gonzalez was an illegal immigrant.</p>
<p>The ICE agent suffered severe injuries but remained in stable condition. Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the agent was dragged “a significant distance” after being struck by the illegal immigrant’s vehicle.</p>
<p>“We are praying for the speedy recovery of our law enforcement officer. He followed his training, used appropriate force, and properly enforced the law to protect the public and law enforcement,” said McLaughlin, according to NBC 5.</p>
<p>DHS also called out activists who tell suspected illegal immigrants to resist federal law enforcement.</p>
<p>“Viral social media videos and activists encouraging illegal aliens to resist law enforcement not only spread misinformation, but also undermine public safety, the safety of our officers and those being apprehended,” DHS said.</p>
<p>President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ice-storm-hits-chicago-trump-launches-operation-midway-blitz">launched</a> “Operation Midway Blitz” in Chicago earlier this week, vowing to “target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets.” This week, people have gathered in Chicago to protest Trump’s immigration enforcement in the city, and federal agents had to forcibly remove some protesters on Friday who had staged a sit-in at an ICE processing center, ABC 7 Chicago <a href="https://abc7chicago.com/post/ice-operation-midway-blitz-protesters-gather-outside-broadview-facility-amid-trumps-chicago-immigration-crackdown/17799687/">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Trump also threatened to deploy the National Guard to back up federal authorities during immigration operations and to crack down on violent crime. Last weekend, Trump posted an AI-generated <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115158096026629509">meme</a> on social media, showing Chicago in flames while military helicopters flew overhead. The meme was captioned, “I love the smell of deportations in the morning&#8230; Chicago about to find out why it&#8217;s called the Department of WAR.”</p>
<p>Asked about the meme and whether he was advocating for going to war in Chicago, Trump shot back, “We&#8217;re not going to war. We&#8217;re going to clean up our cities. We&#8217;re going to clean them up so they don&#8217;t kill five people every weekend. That&#8217;s not war, that&#8217;s common sense.”</p>
<p>Democrats in Chicago and around the country have decried Trump’s effort to ramp up immigration enforcement in the Windy City and his threat to send in the National Guard, with Pritzker calling Trump a “wannabe dictator.”</p>

Illegal Immigrant Shot And Killed After Wounding ICE Agent In Chicago

<p>Federal and state officials in Utah revealed on Friday morning that they closed in on Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man suspected of assassinating Charlie Kirk, after a family friend reached out to law enforcement.</p>
<p>FBI Director Kash Patel said that authorities “made historic progress for Charlie” after capturing the suspected assassin in just 33 hours. Patel then provided a timeline of the FBI’s response immediately after Kirk was gunned down and how the search for the alleged assassin came to a close.</p>

<h3>11:52 a.m. MT — Suspect Arrives Near Campus</h3>
<p>Authorities said video showed the suspected assassin driving near campus in a gray Dodge Challenger. One of Robinson’s family members reportedly told investigators that Robinson drove a gray Dodge Challenger. The suspect then walked onto campus and climbed up the stairwells to a roof adjacent to the courtyard where Kirk was speaking, according to authorities.</p>

<p>Authorities believe that a single shot was fired from the roof of a building around 200 yards from where Kirk was debating students during one of his signature question and answer sessions.</p>

<p>Patel said a person of interest was questioned at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday. He posted at 5:21 p.m. that the “subject for the horrific shooting” was in custody, but less than two hours later, the FBI director posted an update, saying, “The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement.” Two subjects were questioned by authorities on Wednesday in connection with the assassination before they were both released.</p>

The FBI director added that investigators are continuing to look at forensic evidence “as we collect it.”</p>
<p>The public also flooded the FBI with around 7,000 leads on Thursday.</p>
<h3>8:00 p.m. — FBI Releases More Images, Video Of Suspected Assassin Fleeing Scene</h3>
<p>The video showed the suspect jumping off the roof from where the single shot that killed Kirk was fired. Images released by the FBI showed a man in an American flag shirt, a hat, and sunglasses walking up a stairwell.</p>
<h3>10:00 p.m. — Tyler Robinson Arrested In Southern Utah</h3>
<p>Officials said that Robinson was turned in after a family member reached out to a friend about the 22-year-old, who allegedly confessed or implied that he had assassinated Kirk. The New York Post and The Daily Mail reported that the suspect admitted to the assassination to his father. Robinson reportedly told his father that he wanted to kill himself when his father urged him to turn himself over to the authorities.</p>
<p>Robinson’s father convinced his son to talk to their youth minister, who is also a U.S. Marshal, The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/09/12/us-news/tyler-robinson-full-of-hate-before-charlie-kirk-shooting-says-family-friends/">reported</a>. The youth minister then called the FBI, and shortly after, agents took Robinson into custody.</p>

TIMELINE: How Authorities Circled In On Suspected Assassin Tyler Robinson

<p>Utah officials and the FBI confirmed during a press conference on Friday morning that the man suspected of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was taken into custody on Thursday night.</p>
<p>Utah Republican Governor Spencer Cox said at a press conference that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was arrested after allegedly confessing or implying to a family member that he had assassinated Kirk. Robinson also recently told a family member of his dislike of Kirk, the governor said. Cox added that a family member of Robinson’s told investigators that the suspected assassin had become more political in recent years, and that Robinson mentioned at a recent dinner that Kirk was scheduled to speak at Utah Valley University.</p>
<p>“They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had,” the governor added. “The family member also stated Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate.”</p>
<p>Robinson was taken into custody at around 10:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, according to FBI Director Kash Patel. One of Robinson’s family members reached out to a family friend about the 22-year-old who allegedly confessed or implied that he had assassinated Kirk. The information “was then relayed” to authorities, according to Cox. Robinson lived with his family in Washington County in southwest Utah and was not a student at Utah Valley University.</p>
<p>Authorities said campus video showed the suspected assassin arriving at Utah Valley University in a gray Dodge Challenger before Kirk’s killing, and a family member later confirmed to investigators that Robinson owned the same type of car.</p>
<p>A roommate of Robinson also spoke with investigators and allowed them to review messages from the suspect that were sent via the online platform Discord. Messages sent from “Tyler” allegedly discussed retrieving a rifle from a “drop point” and “leaving the rifle in a bush,” Cox said. Authorities said they found a bolt-action rifle with a scope attached in a bush in a wooded area near where Kirk was assassinated. Another message from “Tyler” mentioned that he had changed outfits, the governor added.</p>
<p>Cox said that ammunition from the rifle that authorities believe the suspected assassin used to kill Kirk was engraved with multiple phrases, including “Notices Bulges OwO what&#8217;s this?” (a furry culture meme), “^&gt;VVV” (the calldown code for a 500kg bomb in the game Helldivers 2), “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao” (song of the Italian antifascist resistance), “If you read this you are gay LMAO,” and “Hey fascist! Catch!” It does not appear that the suspected assassin made any reference to transgender ideology, as was previously stated in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ammunition-from-charlie-kirk-assassination-was-engraved-with-transgender-and-anti-fascist-ideology">reports</a> citing internal government documents.</p>
<p>FBI Director Patel and Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith thanked the public for its help in catching the suspected assassin. Smith added that the success of law enforcement could not have been achieved without the public’s prayers, patience, and support.</p>
<p>“That is what we needed to get through this,” he said.</p>
<p>Patel added that the investigation remains ongoing, and Governor Cox said that charging documents will likely be filed next week. Utah is one of the few states that still has the death penalty. Both Cox and President Donald Trump have called for Kirk’s assassin to be executed after he is convicted.</p>

Authorities Arrest, Identify Suspected Charlie Kirk Assassin

<p>President Donald Trump announced on Friday morning that the National Guard will be deployed to crime-ridden Memphis, a Democrat-run city in deep-red Tennessee.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to Memphis. I&#8217;m just announcing that now,&#8221; Trump told &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; during an interview in the studio. &#8220;National Guard and anybody else we need, and by the way, we&#8217;re bringing the military too if we need it.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump has recently suggested that multiple cities — such as Chicago, Baltimore, and New Orleans — could be next on his list for a federal intervention to combat violent crime. His decision to deploy troops to Memphis means that the president will be working with a friendly state government. Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee <a href="https://www.wsmv.com/2025/09/10/gov-lee-activates-new-thp-surge-combat-crime-memphis-alongside-fbis-operation-viper/">said</a> on Wednesday that he is collaborating with the Trump administration on a plan to address crime in Memphis.</p>
<p>&#8220;For months, I have been in constant communication with the Trump Administration to develop a strategic plan to combat crime in Memphis, leveraging the full extent of both federal and state resources,&#8221; Lee said. &#8220;This multi-phased approach includes Operation Viper — an ongoing FBI mission with a dedicated task force of federal, state, and local law enforcement that has already made hundreds of arrests targeting the most violent offenders. Additionally, I have activated a new Tennessee Highway Patrol surge to support the Memphis Police Department that will include 50 more troopers, bringing our THP presence in Shelby County to record levels.&#8221;</p>
<p>Recently released FBI data on violent crime rates in 2024 showed that Memphis is the most violent city in the United States, NBC&#8217;s Nashville affiliate, WSMV 4, <a href="https://www.wsmv.com/2025/09/05/this-tennessee-city-has-highest-violent-crime-rate-country-see-where-your-home-ranks/">reported</a> last week. Last year, Memphis saw 2,501 instances of violent crime for every 100,000 people. The violent crime rate in Memphis was far higher than that of other most violent cities in America. The next highest on the list was Oakland, California, with 1,925 violent crimes reported for every 100,000 people, and Detroit was No. 3 with 1,781 violent crimes per 100,000 people.</p>
<p>Trump has praised the work of the National Guard and federal law enforcement agents in Washington, D.C., after he sent them into the nation&#8217;s capital and directed the Metropolitan Police Department to crack down on violent crime. The president said he wants to address violent crime in cities across the United States.</p>
<p>&#8220;Almost every city that&#8217;s in trouble is run by Democrats,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1966479556388200614">told</a> &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; on Friday morning. &#8220;Cashless bail is a disaster.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump&#8217;s recent moves to deploy the National Guard to D.C. and Los Angeles have been blasted by Democrats, who claim that the president&#8217;s efforts to address violent crime in the U.S. are a power grab. Earlier this month, a federal judge ruled that Trump broke the law when he deployed the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles during violent anti-ICE protests in June.</p>

<p>Judge said that meeting Trump was “a surreal moment,” the Associated Press reported.</p>

<p>Walsh also remained undeterred from speaking the truth after Kirk&#8217;s assassination, adding that the &#8220;evil gloating&#8221; of Kirk&#8217;s enemies following his killing &#8220;are accolades in their own right.&#8221;</p>
