Trump On Defense, Calls Himself ‘A Very Stable Genius’ In Wake Of New Book About His Administration

   DailyWire.com

On Saturday morning President Trump sent out three tweets in the span of 11 minutes in which he rebutted the claims being made regarding his mental fitness for office:

Here are the tweets in one paragraph:

Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence. Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius….and a very stable genius at that!

Trump’s defense very likely comes as a direct response to author Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” which dropped on Friday.

Even before the book’s debut, the Trump administration went on the offensive. Charles Harder, an attorney to the president, sent cease and desist letters to Steve Bannon, who is quoted in the book, as well as author Michael Wolff and publishing company Henry Holt.

The Trump administration released a scathing statement on Wednesday calling out Steve Bannon in relation to his alleged contributions to Wolff’s book:

Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.

Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans. Steve doesn’t represent my base—he’s only in it for himself.

Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.

President Trump also called out Wolff and Bannon on Friday, tweeting:

Additionally, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has made several comments on the book.

During Thursday’s press briefing, Huckabee Sanders said that the book contains “numerous examples of falsehoods,” and called it “complete fantasy and just full of tabloid gossip.”

Even Maggie Haberman of The New York Times said on Friday that while she “believes parts” of the book, “there are other parts that are factually wrong,” including “basic details.”

“Fire and Fury” is currently the number one best-selling book on Amazon.
