Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce finally broke his silence about Taylor Swift’s appearance at his game on Sunday, which has Swift fans and sports broadcasters alike speculating on whether the two are dating.
During the NFL star’s weekly podcast with Philadelphia Eagles center and brother Jason Kelce, “New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce,” the two talked about Kansas City’s win over the Chicago Bears and the “Shake It Off” hitmaker’s appearance in his suite, which has caused, among other things, Kelce’s jersey sales to spike by “400 percent.”
“Shout out to Taylor[Swift] for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy,” Travis said. “I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, the friends and family. She looked amazing and everybody was talking about her in great light.”
“And on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans of course,” he added. “To see the slow motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with mom, to see how, you know, Chiefs kingdom was all excited that she was there, that s*** was absolutely hysterical and it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure.”
“And then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end,” Kelce continued, referencing Swift’s 2017 song “Getaway Car.”
At one point, the tight end admitted he brought all this attention on himself and said that his life is kind of crazy right now.
“I’m on the rollercoaster, man,” Kelce said. “The rollercoaster of life. I know I brought all this attention to me. Right, I’m the one, I did the whole friendship bracelet thing and told everybody how butt hurt I was that I didn’t get to meet Taylor.”
But the Chiefs star made it clear fans hoping to hear him dish more about whatever is going on between him and the “Love Story” hitmaker will be disappointed.
“What’s real is that it’s my personal life and I want to respect both of our lives,” Kelce told his brother. “She’s not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season on other guys’ shows like the ‘[Pat] McAfee Show’ and any other show that I go on from here on out, so, like you said on that Thursday night game, I’m enjoying life, and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend.”
“So everything moving forward, I think me talking about sports and saying, ‘All right now,’ will have to be kind of where I keep it,” he added.
