<p>A shooter was shot and killed by a security guard after opening fire at a church in Wayne, Michigan, while worshipers were gathered for a service on Sunday.</p>
<p>The assailant was stopped before he could make it inside CrossPointe Community Church when one of the church&#8217;s deacons hit him with his Ford F-150, giving the security guard time to shoot the attacker, according to Senior Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr., The Detroit News <a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/wayne-county/2025/06/22/security-guard-kills-active-shooter-at-crosspointe-church-wayne-police-say/84307435007/">reported</a>. The security guard was also wounded in the shooting after taking a bullet to the leg, but no one else was injured.</p>
<p>There were around 150 people in attendance when the shooter targeted the church, which is located around 25 miles west of Detroit. A livestream video of the service showed the Christian worshipers, many of whom were children, ducking for cover after a security guard told them to evacuate as shots were fired outside the building. CrossPointe was holding a special vacation Bible school service, a summer program many churches put on for young children. While the shooter was stopped from making it inside the church, he fired multiple shots into the building.</p>

<p>According to Wayne Police Deputy Chief Finley Carter, the shooter was a 31-year-old man. Kelly said that the man did not appear to be a member of the church.</p>
<p>Local, state, and federal authorities are on the ground investigating the shooting. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino <a href="https://x.com/FBIDDBongino/status/1936841401464947034">wrote</a> on X, &#8220;Our leadership and support teams are on the ground, at the scene, in Wayne, Michigan providing assistance and investigative support.&#8221;</p>
<p>Kelly said that the church started a security team around 10 years ago in response to threats to churches across the country, according to The Detroit News. The pastor added that before Sunday, CrossPointe had not received any threats of violence.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are sitting ducks to someone who wants to come and do harm,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>At least 20 Christians were killed and 52 others were wounded on Sunday when a radical Islamic terrorist opened fire in an Orthodox church in Damascus, Syria, and then detonated an explosive vest, according to Syria&#8217;s interior ministry.</p>
<p>The terrorist, affiliated with ISIS, targeted Mar Elias Church in Dweila, on the outskirts of Damascus, the BBC <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c307n9p43z9o">reported</a>. A person who witnessed the attack told AFP news agency that &#8220;someone entered carrying a weapon&#8221; and began firing at worshipers. A group of church members charged the attacker and &#8220;tried to stop him before he blew himself up,&#8221; the witness added.</p>
<p>Graphic footage of the aftermath of the bombing captured by the Syrian Civil Defence showed bloody bodies on the ground and rows of pews blown to pieces. Some local media reports said that children were among those killed in the terrorist attack, according to <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/suicide-bomber-syria-church-dweila/">CBS News</a>.</p>
<p>Issam Nasr, a man who was at the church during the attack, said that he saw people &#8220;blown to bits.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We have never held a knife in our lives. All we ever carried were our prayers,&#8221; Nasr said.</p>
<p>The bombing marks the first successful jihadist attack on a Christian church in Syria since Bashar al-Assad and his government were toppled by Islamic extremists in December, according to Reuters. The Islamic State was behind multiple other recent attacks on Christian churches in the country, but none were successful.</p>
<p>Interim Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who is part of a Sunni Islamist group that has ties to al-Qaeda, has repeatedly vowed to protect religious minorities in the country, but violence against Christians continues. There are over 500,000 Christians in Syria, and they are regularly the victims of government oppression and Islamic extremism, according to <a href="https://www.opendoors.org/en-US/persecution/countries/syria/">Open Doors</a>, which ranks the country at 18th on the list of countries where Christians face the most persecution.</p>

<p>President Donald Trump said on Friday that a deal with Harvard University could be announced &#8220;over the next week or so&#8221; as the Trump administration and Ivy League school have been engaged in a months-long fight over diversity programs and antisemitism on Harvard&#8217;s campus.</p>
<p>The president praised Harvard for coming to the negotiating table to seek a solution for &#8220;their largescale improprieties.&#8221; Trump&#8217;s fight with Harvard started after he began stripping federal funding for the university over their diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and their failure to crack down on antisemitism. The battle between Trump and Harvard intensified earlier this month when the president moved to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/an-unacceptable-risk-trump-signs-proclamation-to-stop-foreign-students-from-enrolling-at-harvard?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=%E2%80%98An+Unacceptable+Risk%E2%80%99%3A+Trump+Signs+Proclamation+To+Stop+Foreign+Students+From+Enrolling+At+Harvard">stop</a> foreign students from enrolling at the university.</p>
<p>&#8220;Many people have been asking what is going on with Harvard University and their largescale improprieties that we have been addressing, looking for a solution,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114717387393069944">wrote</a> on Truth Social. &#8220;We have been working closely with Harvard, and it is very possible that a Deal will be announced over the next week or so. They have acted extremely appropriately during these negotiations, and appear to be committed to doing what is right.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;If a Settlement is made on the basis that is currently being discussed, it will be &#8216;mindbogglingly&#8217; HISTORIC, and very good for our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Harvard <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harvard-sues-to-restore-taxpayer-funding-frozen-by-trump-admin">sued</a> the Trump administration for stripping over $2 billion in federal funding, and then <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harvard-sues-after-trump-admin-blocks-university-from-admitting-foreign-students">sued again</a> over the administration&#8217;s attempt to bar foreign students from attending. Shortly before Trump&#8217;s comments on Friday, a Boston-based federal judge blocked Trump from revoking Harvard&#8217;s ability to enroll foreign students, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-administration-harvard-foreign-students-judge-ruling/#">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Last month, Trump suggested that Harvard cap its foreign student enrollment at 15% of the student body, which would be a drop from the nearly 30% of the student body represented by international students. He added that he wants Harvard to &#8220;show us their lists,&#8221; so that the Trump administration can &#8220;make sure that the foreign students are people that can love our country.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t want to see shopping centers exploding. We don&#8217;t want to see the kind of riots that you had,&#8221; Trump said.</p>
<p>The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-state-dept-measures-unveiled-how-foreign-students-will-be-screened-for-u-s-entry">reported</a> that the State Department unveiled new measures for screening foreign students on Wednesday, including searching the social media accounts of students for “any indications of hostility towards the citizens, culture, government, institutions or founding principles of the United States,” “advocacy for, aid or support for foreign terrorists and other threats to U.S. national security,” and “support for unlawful antisemitic harassment or violence.”</p>
<p>“Every visa adjudication is a national security decision,” the State Department said. “The United States must be vigilant during the visa issuance process to ensure that those applying for admission into the United States do not intend to harm Americans and our national interests, and that all applicants credibly establish their eligibility for the visa sought, including that they intend to engage in activities consistent with the terms for their admission.”</p>

Trump Teases ‘Mindbogglingly Historic’ Deal With Harvard: ‘They Have Acted Extremely Appropriately’

<p>Minnesota Democratic state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, released a statement on Thursday updating the public on their recovery and providing more details about the assassination attempt against them last week.</p>
<p>Yvette has been released from the hospital, while John remains in critical but stable condition, <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/hoffman-hortman-statement-minnesota-shooting/89-5fb5baf5-8293-4397-b57d-69a265571bd4">according</a> to NBC&#8217;s Minneapolis affiliate, KARE 11</span>. In their statement, the Hoffmans said they were shot a combined 17 times by a masked assassin who targeted multiple Democratic politicians last week, wounding the Hoffmans and killing state Rep. Melissa Hortman (D) and her husband, Mark. The Hortmans are survived by their two adult children, Sophie and Colin.</p>
<p>The Hoffmans added that they, along with their adult daughter, Hope, were awakened by loud banging on their front door, with someone shouting and identifying himself as a police officer.</p>
<p>&#8220;When the door was opened, all three of us were in the entryway. John initially lunged at the gunman as the weapon was pointed directly at him, getting struck nine times,&#8221; the statement reads. &#8220;As John fell, Yvette reached out to push the man and shut the door, succeeding before she was also hit eight times by gunfire. Hope then rushed to shut the door and secured the lock; she got to the phone and shared with the 911 operator that Senator John Hoffman had been shot in his home. Her brave actions and quick thinking triggered the notice to public safety officials that a politically-motivated act was potentially underway.&#8221;</p>
<p>After wounding the Hoffmans, 57-year-old Vance Boelter, the suspected assassin, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspected-minnesota-assassin-went-to-homes-of-two-other-elected-officials-prosecutor?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=9&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Suspected+Minnesota+Assassin+Went+To+Homes+Of+Two+Other+Elected+Officials%3A+Prosecutor">drove</a> to the houses of two other Democratic politicians who were not home, according to prosecutors. Authorities said that Boelter then arrived at the home of Rep. Hortman, where he shot and killed the 55-year-old Democrat and her husband before getting into a shootout with police and fleeing. Boelter was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/authorities-catch-suspected-minnesota-assassin">arrested</a> just over 24 hours later in a wooded area near his family home, which is located an hour southwest of the Twin Cities.</p>
<p>Police said they found a potential “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/read-the-hit-list-found-in-minnesota-gunmans-vehicle">hit list</a>” in Boelter’s vehicle that contained the names of numerous Minnesota Democrats, including Gov. Tim Walz, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Angie Craig, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan. The suspect, who was reappointed by Walz to serve on the Workforce Development Board in 2019, was &#8220;very conservative,&#8221; according to a man he roomed with part-time at a house in north Minneapolis.</p>
<p>Video <a href="https://x.com/Protestia/status/1934404005590937986">clips</a> shared on social media show Boelter <a href="https://x.com/sfmcguire79/status/1934044833477185855">preaching</a> in churches in the Democratic Republic of Congo in recent years. He graduated from Christ For The Nations Institute in 1990 with a degree in practical theology in leadership and pastoral, according to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/vance-boelter-know-minnesota-shooting-suspect-rcna213443">NBC News</a>. In Minnesota, Boelter was most recently working for funeral homes and had decades of experience in the food industry.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are heartbroken to know that our friends Melissa and Mark Hortman were assassinated,&#8221; the Hoffmans added. &#8220;Our daughter Hope and Sophie Hortman went to school together, and we know that they – along with Colin Hortman – will have each other’s support as we all work through the devastating consequences of that horrific night.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Choosing to work in the public sector, even in as limited a way as John’s career as a senator, has always meant sacrificing a level of privacy. But now we are grappling with the reality that we live in a world where public service carries such risks as being targeted because someone disagrees with you or doesn’t like what you stand for,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;As a society, as a nation, as a community, we must work together to return to a level of civility that allows us all to live peacefully. The future for our children depends on that. We will be praying for that work and appreciate all those who will join with us.&#8221;</p>

Minnesota State Senator, Wife Say They Were Shot A Combined 17 Times By Masked Assassin

<p>The U.S. Capitol Police said on Friday that authorities arrested the 36-year-old Ohio man accused of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jewish-congressman-run-off-the-road-by-deranged-man-who-waved-palestinian-flag">threatening</a> Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), who is Jewish, by running him &#8220;off the road&#8221; while waving a Palestinian flag.</p>
<p>Feras S. Hamdan was arrested on charges of aggravated menacing after Rep. Miller revealed on Thursday that &#8220;the life of me and my family was threatened&#8221; in a brush with &#8220;blatant antisemitic violence.&#8221; The suspected antisemitic threat against Miller took place while the congressman was driving with his family in Rocky River, Ohio.</p>
<p>“In less than 24 hours, the USCP received notification of a threat against a Member of Congress, had boots on the ground, collaborated with the local police department, and the suspect in the case was arrested that same evening,&#8221; said Capitol Police Acting Chief Sean Gallagher. “This case is a prime example of the USCP’s stance towards threats against our elected officials. We will continue to have a zero-tolerance policy.”</p>
<p>Miller reported the incident to the Capitol Police and the Rocky River Police Department. He later posted a video on social media, describing what happened, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jewish-congressman-run-off-the-road-by-deranged-man-who-waved-palestinian-flag">reported</a>.</p>
<p>“Some unhinged, deranged man decided to lay on his horn and run me off the road when he couldn’t get my attention to show me the Palestinian flag, not to mention ‘Death to Israel,’ death to me — that he wanted to kill me — and my family,” he said.</p>

<p>According to the criminal complaint, Hamdan — driving a black Tesla — pulled up next to Miller&#8217;s vehicle while they were on the road and showed him a picture of a Palestinian flag on his phone, Fox 8 <a href="https://fox8.com/news/i-team/i-team-westlake-man-charged-with-threatening-u-s-rep-max-miller-and-his-family-in-rocky-river/">reported</a>. He also yelled &#8220;death to Israel,&#8221; along with other antisemitic slurs, per the criminal complaint.</p>
<p>The Rocky River Police Department said in a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/100064703557583/posts/1158636719636436/?mibextid=wwXIfr&amp;rdid=rZAse8aDk6K0KCUK#">statement</a> on Friday that Hamden had driven away by the time officers responded to Miller&#8217;s 911 call. The police department added that Hamden later &#8220;voluntarily turned himself in &#8230; and is awaiting a court appearance.&#8221;</p>
<p>Miller added in his video: “I will continue to fight against antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all other forms of hate. You have an issue? Take it to our office. You want to run me off the road? That’s a different story. We know who you are, young man, and the police are going to be paying you a visit.”</p>

Police Arrest Man Accused Of Threatening Jewish Congressman While Waving Palestinian Flag

<p>Iran said on Friday that it has rejected &#8220;several&#8221; calls for negotiations from the United States after President Donald Trump gave a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-to-decide-on-iran-strike-before-july-4?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+To+Decide+On+Iran+Strike+Before+July+4">two-week deadline</a> for his decision on possibly striking the Islamic Republic, leaving the door open for talks with Tehran.</p>
<p>Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said in an address on state television, “Americans want to negotiate and have sent messages several times, but we clearly said that as long as this aggression doesn’t stop, there’s no place for talk of dialogue,” the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/20/world-news/iran-rejects-us-talks-after-trump-gives-two-week-deadline-to-allow-for-negotiations/">reported</a>. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran&#8217;s supreme leader, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/israel-iran-missile-attacks-nuclear-news-tehran-trump-06-18-2025-c6c90028dc340e2716724412fcec2cf0">rejected</a> Trump&#8217;s call for the country to surrender on Wednesday as Israel continues to pound Iranian nuclear facilities and missile launchers from the sky and take out the regime&#8217;s military leaders.</p>
<p>“Wise individuals who know Iran, its people and its history never speak to this nation with the language of threats, because the Iranian nation is not one to surrender,” Khamenei said.</p>
<p>“Americans should know that any military involvement by the U.S. will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage to them,” he added.</p>
<p>Iran <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/crossing-of-a-red-line-iran-hits-major-israeli-hospital-with-direct-strike">escalated</a> the conflict with Israel on Thursday morning, striking a major Israeli hospital. President Trump said on Thursday that he would decide whether to attack Iran “within the next two weeks.”</p>
<p>“Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,” the president said in a statement shared by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.</p>

<p>While Trump gave a two-week timeline for a decision on Iran, an Israeli official <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/pm-israel-will-hit-all-nuclear-facilities-has-destroyed-half-of-irans-launchers/">told</a> The Times of Israel that the U.S. ally expects Trump to decide on striking Iran within 24 to 48 hours. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, said that it&#8217;s &#8220;entirely&#8221; up to Trump to decide if the United States &#8220;wants to join or not,&#8221; adding that he speaks to Trump &#8220;almost daily.&#8221;</p>
<p>“He’ll do what’s good for the United States, and I’ll do what’s good for the State of Israel,” Netanyahu continued.</p>
<p>If the United States joins Israel in direct strikes on Iran, <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2025/06/18/bunker-buster-bomb-israel-iran-conflict/84257733007/">reports</a> suggest that it could be to drop the massive &#8220;bunker buster&#8221; bomb, which can only be carried by America&#8217;s B-2 Bombers. The &#8220;bunker buster&#8221; would likely target Iran&#8217;s Fordow nuclear site, which is built approximately 300 feet underground.</p>
<p>Trump also said earlier this week that the United States knows &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/he-is-an-easy-target-trump-says-he-knows-exactly-where-the-ayatollah-is-hiding">exactly</a>&#8221; where Ayatollah Khamenei is hiding, adding, “He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.&#8221;</p>
