Tory Lanez Found Guilty Of Shooting Megan Thee Stallion, May Be Deported

Rapper Tory Lanez, 30, is facing more than two decades in prison and possible deportation after a Los Angeles jury found him guilty on Friday of shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion after a 2020 Hollywood party.

According to a report from entertainment website TMZ, the jury convicted Lanez on three felony counts: felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm.

Megan, 27, said on the stand that Lanez had fired at her feet and instructed her to “dance, b***!” during an argument about their on-again-off-again relationship — which she said then turned into a fight about their careers.

“I’m in shock. I’m scared. I hear the gun going off and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me,” Megan continued — and went on to allege that Lanez had offered both her and her former best friend Kelsey Harris $1 million if they promised not to tell police what had happened.

After the verdict was read, Lanez’s father and stepmother reportedly shouted about the court system being “evil,” yelling, “This system stands before God!” Court officers had to remove the rapper’s family members from the room.

“A jury has convicted Tory Lanez of all three charges for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. A crazy and downright scary scene in the courtroom as his father and stepmother screamed about wicks injustice,” Law Crime News senior reporter Meghann Cuniff tweeted.

Following the verdict, Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney Alex Spiro released a statement: “The jury got it right. I am thankful there is justice for Meg.”

According to a number of reports, Lanez — who is Canadian by birth — faces up to 22 years in prison and possible deportation when he reappears for sentencing on January 27.

Candace Owens weighed in on the situation just days before the verdict was announced, saying, “Megan Thee Stallion has credibly accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in the foot. She turned down hush money and has been stabbed in the back by her friends. Instead of getting showered with support, Megan was mocked. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be in her position.”
