Tom Brady appeared to double down on his retirement from the NFL after he announced that he will be headed to the broadcast booth in 2024.
The seven-time Super Bowl-winning QB appeared to confirm once again that his career in the league was over when he told sports commentator Colin Cowherd on Monday that his career as a broadcaster for Fox starts in time for the 2024 football season.
“Tom Brady tells [ColinCowherd] on [FS1] that he will start his broadcast career with FOX in the Fall of 2024,” a tweet read from the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB appearance on “The Herd With Colin Cowherd.”

Brady retired last week after 23 seasons in the league following numerous trips to the Super Bowl and coming away with seven Super Bowl rings. He’s also made 15-Pro Bowl appearances.
The NFL star also told Cowherd that he appreciated Fox giving him time to sort of “decompress” from playing in the league for more than two decades. He explained that he’s looking forward to taking “some time to really learn” to “become great at what I want to do.” He also said he wants to make sure he doesn’t “rush into anything.”
Brady said he wants time to become great not only at his Fox “broadcasting job” but also “catching up” on other parts of his life that “need some time and energy,” without expanding on what that exactly meant.
In the now-viral video on Instagram, Brady first thanked fans and everyone who helped him along the way, before he explained that he was retiring for good from the NFL after 23 seasons in the league.
“I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first,” Brady shared, noting his previous retirement announcement on February 1, 2022, before changing his mind.
In 2022, Brady made headlines when he announced he was finally walking away from professional football. But 40 days later he reversed that decision and returned to play with the Bucs for another season.
