<p>Thousands of parents in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mexico" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mexico</a> took to the streets last week to burn education materials that featured “Marxist-communist” indoctrination from the country&#8217;s department of education.</p>
<p>The Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/69bf7312-c593-4b76-8b62-a29fd2c5346b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that one of the officials behind the push to indoctrinate children in Mexico was &#8220;a former Venezuelan government official.&#8221;</p>
<p>The books were woke, filled with &#8220;hard-to-follow material full of errors, a lack of basic language and mathematical exercises and irrelevant or highly age-inappropriate content.&#8221;</p>
<p>The books were so controversial that some governors in the country have refused to distribute them as they demonize capitalism and neoliberalism.</p>
<p>Fox News <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/09/03/mexican-parents-burn-textbooks-infected-with-virus-of-communism-in-fiery-protest-against-gender-ideology/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that at least 12,000 parents in southern Mexico attended the protest where the Marxist books were burned.</p>
<p>So far, more than 112,000 parent signatures have been submitted demanding that the government stop distributing the books.</p>
<p>The material has faced backlash even in Mexican news media.</p>
<p>“Mexico is at risk from a virus that people thought was eradicated — the communist virus,” Mexican news anchor Javier Alatorre said in front of a backdrop of a hammer and sickle with the country&#8217;s education officials. “They want to condemn Mexico to poverty, mediocrity, and hatred.”</p>
