<p>Joy Behar strained the imagination with her latest comparison, claiming on &#8220;The View&#8221; that ousted CNN anchor Don Lemon was just like the late World War II General and President Dwight D. Eisenhower.</p>
<p>Behar recalled Eisenhower&#8217;s efforts to document the atrocities of the concentration camps — and then claimed that when Lemon shadowed protesters as they stormed a church in Minneapolis, he was simply making a similar effort to preserve history.</p>

<p>&#8220;So, I mean, all I can say is it&#8217;s in the Constitution, the right to protest,&#8221; Behar began, making no mention of the rights of the churchgoers to practice their religion without fear of intimidation and threats. She then pivoted to argue that Lemon — who was captured on video discussing the protest plans with one of the organizers before entering the church — was not there to protest anyway.</p>
<p>&#8220;And he wasn&#8217;t even there protesting. He was there as a journalist,&#8221; she insisted.</p>
<p>&#8220;Correct,&#8221; cohost Sunny Hostin agreed.</p>
<p>&#8220;And I think they want to use him as some kind of an example to intimidate other journalists,&#8221; Behar added, parroting the exact claim made by Lemon after he was arrested in connection with the protest.</p>
<p>&#8220;But, you know, I was reading something the other day about World War II, when the Americans liberated Dachau, after World War II, Dwight D. Eisenhower said take pictures of these concentration camps because years will go by and people will not believe this happened,&#8221; Behar continued. &#8220;So, this administration does not really like somebody like Don Lemon who has a camera, who has a position like we do in a way to speak to the people and tell them what really is going on.&#8221;</p>
<p>But Behar did not explain how Lemon&#8217;s video of protesters disrupting a church service aligned with the photos taken of Jewish Holocaust victims at Eisenhower&#8217;s behest.</p>
<p>&#8220;So, you know, God bless Dwight D. Eisenhower and Don Lemon,&#8221; she concluded.</p>
<p>Critics were not impressed with Behar&#8217;s conclusion, however.</p>
<p>&#8220;In one of the most tortured Holocaust metaphors in modern history, @ABC News&#8217; employee Joy Behar suggests that Don Lemon breaking up a church service is like Eisenhower sending in journalists to witness concentration camps. In her metaphor, church attendees &#8230; are the Nazis,&#8221; Matt Whitlock <a href="https://x.com/MattWhitlock/status/2019063576883761276">observed</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;The hottest take yet is that Cities Church in St. Paul is basically another Dachau,&#8221; Jerry Dunleavy <a href="https://x.com/JerryDunleavy/status/2019080949057663303">added</a>.</p>
<p>And <a href="https://x.com/ChuckRossDC/status/2019084337619099840">from</a> Chuck Ross, &#8220;ABC&#8217;s Joy Behar literally comparing Nazi concentration camps to a church where an ICE employee serves as an associate pastor.&#8221;</p>
