<p>&#8220;The View&#8221; co-host Sunny Hostin claimed on Wednesday that billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was responsible — through cuts suggested by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project — for the loss of some 300,000 lives, who were &#8220;mostly children.&#8221;</p>
<p>Hostin made the comments during the ABC midday broadcast of &#8220;The View,&#8221; where she argued that even though Musk was stepping away from a more central role within President Donald Trump&#8217;s inner circle, he and his counterparts at DOGE had already done immeasurable damage.</p>

<p>&#8220;But the damage that he did was just really incredible,&#8221; Hostin said. &#8220;He slashed 250,000 federal employees, more than 8500 contracts, more than 10,000 grants, and his cutbacks on medical research cost the lives of — the foreign aid — cost 300,000 lives, mostly children.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s the damage that Elon Musk did, so I don&#8217;t think anyone should be listening to him about anything,&#8221; she insisted.</p>
<p>The rest of Hostin&#8217;s co-hosts joined the pile-on a bit later, but they also were quick to suggest that Trump might need to watch his step as Musk exits the administration.</p>

<p>Hostin agreed: &#8220;Yeah, he got all that information.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;He knows how all this came down,&#8221; Goldberg said.</p>
<p>&#8220;So Trump should be afraid of him,&#8221; co-host Joy Behar added, and then appeared to make an attempt at casting doubt on the legitimacy of Trump&#8217;s victory in the 2024 presidential election. &#8220;He has the receipts on the election, too.&#8221;</p>
