‘The Pendragon Cycle’ Debuts First Sneak Peek Of Behind-The-Scenes Filming Of Epic Adventure Series With ‘Production Diary 1’

A sneak peek of behind-the-scenes content from “The Pendragon Cycle” gives fans an in-depth look at the exclusive upcoming DailyWire+ heroic adventure. “Production Diary 1: The Start of an Epic Adventure,” the first installment of this sneak peek of the new series, was posted Thursday.

In the sneak peek, actors are seen rehearsing and getting ready for the first day of shooting. “We’re gonna invite you on with us, show us how we’re doing things, show you behind the scenes,” Daily Wire co-founder and “The Pendragon Cycle” co-director Jeremy Boreing told the audience of releasing this behind-the-scenes footage. 

“I know that everybody had a different journey of what brought them here,” Boreing told the assembled cast and crew members. “For me it started over 25 years ago. I was sitting in a little run-down apartment in North Hollywood. Didn’t even know what rights were. But I knew that the books, ‘The Pendragon Cycle’ by Stephen Lawhead had really impacted me. And here we all stand, once again with this beautiful work in our hands and the opportunity to bring it to life. Let’s make a movie.”

The clip showed snippets of special effects setup, costume fittings, makeup, and set design, highlighting the thoughtfulness and extreme attention to detail that’s being put into the adventure series. Viewers also catch a glimpse of the rigorous training and stunts the actors participate in. 

“This is incredibly surreal,” director Ryan Whitaker can be heard saying in the clip. “Because we’ve been planning and dreaming about this day for months.” 

Whitaker explained that the crew was on location outside of Budapest, Hungary, and that the location would be their home for most of the show. 

Actress Rose Reid, who plays Charis, raves about her handmade wardrobe and also mentions how each day her elaborate hairstyle takes “at least” two hours to complete. 

“It’s very specific to moments in the script where we are dealing with Charis’s level of vulnerability,” she said of her white, flowing garments. Viewers can also catch a sneak peek of The Daily Wire’s own YouTube superstar Brett Cooper, who is playing the role of Ganieda, the future wife of Merlin.

Executive Producer Dallas Sonnier next introduces the “riding stunt shot” through the Hungarian mountains. The clip shows a large crowd of actors on horseback, with 25 to 30 horses and riders set against a backdrop of a mountain sunset. “It’s pretty cool,” Sonnier says of the stunning footage.

“Amazing performances by the cast. An unbelievable performance from our crew,” Boreing said of the work that’s been done so far. The “Pendragon Cycle” creator also teases the next episode of the behind-the-scenes sneak peek, which will include a depiction of the “first major battle sequence.” 

“We can’t wait to keep bringing you this content, and for you to see the finished work of ‘The Pendragon Cycle,’” Boreing concluded.

“The Pendragon Cycle” is a scripted adaptation of the multi-award-winning series written by Stephen R. Lawhead. This heroic and epic adventure series will stream exclusively on DailyWire+ in 2024.
