Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing announced on Friday that the company will keep its “What Is A Woman?” documentary free on Twitter for the rest of the weekend after a rollercoaster 24-hour period that started out with some inside Twitter trying to sabotage the film on the platform and ended with Elon Musk promoting the film to more than 140 million people.
“An insane 24 hours. Thanks to everyone who helped us stand up for free speech, and to Elon and Twitter for making it right,” Boreing wrote. “To celebrate, we’re keeping What is a Woman on Twitter and free for the rest of the weekend so everyone can enjoy the Streisand Effect.”
The Daily Wire posted the groundbreaking, 90-minute documentary starring Matt Walsh on Twitter, where it could be viewed for free for 24 hours, Thursday night to mark the one-year anniversary of its release and continue to drive the conversation about the radical transgender craze. But Twitter labeled the documentary as “hateful conduct” and restricted its visibility because of two instances of supposed “misgendering.” A few hours before its release, Musk took to Twitter to insist that it had been a mistake, yet the film was saddled with restrictions when it aired.
Early Friday, Twitter’s tag restricting the visibility of “What is a Woman?” was removed, allowing Twitter users to like and retweet the documentary, and Musk tweeted out the film to his 140 million followers.
“Every parent should watch this,” Musk wrote.

Musk later added that the controversy surrounding the drama that unfolded represented the “World Champion Streisand Effect,” meaning attempts by some inside Twitter to stop the film from being published on the platform backfired in the worst way possible for them because it ended up giving the film significantly more attention.
The Daily Wire tweet that featured the film has been viewed 65 million times in less than 24 hours, after the boost from Musk, who has the most powerful account on the platform.
