<p>Police in Zurich, Switzerland, have increased security at Jewish sites following an attempted murder that took place over the weekend.</p>
<p>A 15-year-old, who was not named, allegedly stabbed a 50-year-old Jewish man in the city on Saturday night.</p>
<p>Police said that while they had not reached any final conclusions about the attack, they believed that it was very likely an anti-Semitic hate crime.</p>
<p>The Swiss Organization of Jewish Communities said it was “deeply shocked that a community member fell victim to such an attack.”</p>
<p>“Physical attacks on Jewish people in Switzerland are very rare,” it said. “The Jewish community has been spared from such life-threatening attacks for the past two decades. However, there has been a significant increase in such physical attacks since Oct. 7.”</p>

<p>City Councilor Jehuda Spielman, who reportedly knows the victim, <a href="https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/article-789907">told</a> The Jerusalem Post that bystanders who rushed in to stop the attack “without a doubt &#8230; saved his life.”</p>
<p>“We were really lucky that people fought back,” he said.</p>
<p>Spielman said that the suspect shouted anti-Semitic slogans during the altercation. After he was pinned down, the suspect reportedly made references to what the publication referred to as &#8220;jihadist concepts, such as acting on behalf of &#8216;Al-Aqsa.'&#8221; The suspect allegedly yelled &#8220;death to the Jews.&#8221;</p>

<p>Al-Aqsa in this context would be a reference to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization&#8217;s unprecedented October 7 attack on Israel, which they named Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. The Islamic terrorists murdered 1,200 people, wounded 5,300+, kidnapped hundreds, and unleashed a violent campaign of rape against girls and women.</p>
<p>The Middle East Media Research Institute&#8217;s (MEMRI) Jihad &amp; Terrorism Threat Monitor, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit, <a href="https://archive.is/dpf37#selection-479.4-492.1">reported</a> that a video that was uploaded online showed the teenager swearing allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) and calling on Muslims to target Christians and Jews around the world.</p>
