<p>Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed the Biden administration&#8217;s recent report on the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan as &#8220;revisionist history.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruz made the remarks during an episode of his podcast &#8220;Verdict&#8221; with co-host Ben Ferguson.</p>
<p>The senator specifically called out a statement from National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby, who claimed that the widely criticized withdrawal was not chaotic.</p>
<p>“For all this talk of chaos, I just didn&#8217;t see it!&#8221; Kirby asserted.</p>

<p>&#8220;Look, there is a theme across the board of this administration and this White House: They lie for a living,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;Whether it&#8217;s John Kirby lying about Afghanistan, whether it is Mayorkas lying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, whether it&#8217;s Karine Jean-Pierre, standing up and lying over and over and over again, ‘People aren&#8217;t just walking across the border,’ she says. Well, that&#8217;s a lie.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruz then took aim at Kirby&#8217;s claim that &#8220;there was a lot that went right&#8221; with the pullout from Afghanistan.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is revisionist history. This is trying to go back and say, ‘Don&#8217;t believe your lying eyes when you saw it happen. I&#8217;m telling you what the official government story is,’&#8221; Cruz fired back. &#8220;He&#8217;s proud of the job they did. You know what is shocking? Nobody lost their job. Secretary of defense wasn&#8217;t fired. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs wasn&#8217;t fired. John Kirby wasn&#8217;t fired.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruz compared Kirby to &#8220;Baghdad Bob,&#8221; a reference to former Iraq propagandist Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahaf who was known for making outrageously false claims. As NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/iraq-war-10-years-later-where-are-they-now-mohammed-flna1c8956468">reported</a>, as U.S. forces stormed the capital, Al-Sahaf claimed that they were “committing suicide by the hundreds on the gates of Baghdad.”</p>
