Taylor Swift’s longtime publicist Tree Paine blasted the “fabricated” and “insane” rumor that surfaced on Thursday that claimed the pop star and her ex-boyfriend Joe Alywn secretly married at one point.
A popular Instagram celebrity gossip account by the name of Deuxmoi posted that the 33-year-old singer “did have a ceremony in either 2020 or 2021 in the UK and it was described to me as a ‘marriage’ by more than one person. It was NEVER made legal.”
The account also said they would “die on this hill! I have no reason to lie, I could give a s**t what she does! I’m sorry she didn’t tell you guys about it in a song but just because she doesn’t sing about something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!”

Paine reposted the claim on X and wrote that, “Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi.”
“There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind,” she added. “This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these.”
Deuxmoi later hit back at Paine’s post in an Instagram Story and wrote that, “Well I make zero dollars from lying.. can publicists say the same. Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to ‘pain & trauma’ after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words. Either way, I apologize to Taylor.”

News of Swift and Alywn breaking up made headlines in May after six years together. She’s currently romantically linked with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce after the two finally made their romance public in mid-October following weeks of speculation.
In a recent Wall Street Journal magazine cover story, Kelce said while it’s true he failed to meet Swift when she was performing at Arrowhead Stadium in July, they did end up getting introduced to each other soon after.
“There were definitely people she [Swift] knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming?’ I had somebody playing Cupid,” Kelce told the magazine.
“[The Cupid] told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get [Swift] to reach out,” he added, noting about looking down at his phone and getting what the outlet called “the shock of a lifetime.”
“She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but … when [Swift] came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures … in front of my locker,” Kelce continued.
