Taylor Swift attended a Gaza fundraiser with best pal Selena Gomez on Friday at comedian Ramy Youssef’s comedy club in Brooklyn at his sold-out show.
The 33-year-old singer and Gomez joined other A-list celebrities at Youssef’s show with “100% of the proceeds” from the remainder of his standup comedy tour going to support the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), Newsweek reported. The organization is “providing humanitarian relief to the people of Gaza,” the outlet noted.
According to the organization’s website, it started in 1968 and claims to have no political or religious affiliation, the Jerusalem Post noted. The group claims to “mobilize resources for immediate emergency relief and for sustainable, long-term health, education, and economic development.”

Despite claims to have no political affiliation, the NGO Monitor found “ANERA’s reports and newsletters present a highly biased view of the conflict, ignoring any Palestinian responsibility for hardship and contributing to the demonization of Israel consistent with the 2001 Durban strategy,” the Jerusalem Post noted.
Social media users were quick to say that the “Shake It Off” hitmaker has yet to speak publicly about the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack against Israel that resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people, but attended this Gaza fundraiser.
“Taylor Swift attending Ramy’s show is her supporting causes that aid victims of genocide,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Since October 7th, Taylor Swift has made ZERO mentions of the massacre that occurred in Israel at the hands of Hamas terrorists. Her own bodyguard, who is charged with protecting her life, went to Israel to serve in the IDF. Swift did, however, make the time to attend a Gaza fundraiser Friday evening with Selena Gomez. When will you attend a fundraiser for Israel?”

However, others defended the superstar singer and said she was just going to a comedy show.
“Taylor going to see a comedy show is not her actively supporting Gaza. this is Ramy actively supporting Gaza,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Ramy Youssef donated proceeds to Gaza. Taylor Swift just went to a comedy show.”
As previously reported, an unnamed security guard from Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” has gone home to join the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) following the Hamas terrorist attack.
“I didn’t have to come here, but I couldn’t stand by while families were slaughtered and burned alive in their homes,” the guard said. “Don’t stand by and do nothing. Don’t be on the wrong side of history.”
