It is obvious to any semi-objective observer on either side of the aisle that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is running a campaign based on the fact that she happens to have an extra x-chromosome. Actress and avid Bernie Sanders support Susan Sarandon, taking exception to such an idea, blasted Hillary’s gender-fueled campaign.
The actress took to Twitter on Wednesday to explain that she, on the contrary, would not be voting with her “vagina,” and stated that it would be “insulting” to think that a woman would “follow a candidate” solely for their matching anatomy.
“I don’t vote with my vagina,” wrote the actress. “It’s so insulting to women to think that you would follow a candidate JUST because she’s a woman.”
“[Hillary] doesn’t rep [sic] my interests, [Bernie Sanders] does. Simple as that,” she followed up.
Sarandon’s comments come on the heels of countless attempts by Hillary to play the gender card. Most recently, one of Hillary’s surrogates, the first female Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, suggested that women who do not support Hillary reserve a “special place in hell.” Of course, right alongside her was the former First Lady letting out one of the most horrifying and quintessential-Hillary laughs of all time to approve of the sexist remark.
Surely, Sarandon is also fed-up with the Hillary camp painting her candidate, socialist Bernie Sanders, as a sexist for the most innocent of comments toward the former secretary of state. For instance, when Sanders referenced that Hillary was “shouting”—when she was, in fact, shouting—to make a larger point, the female candidate used her uterus as a force field against the legitimate underlying criticism by deeming Sanders a sexist for such a comment.

Clearly, Hillary thought that running as a novelty candidate—as the first female to hold the Presidency—would take her and her vagina all the way to the White House. But, with Sanders closing the gap with Hillary among women—even among older liberal women like Sarandon—the former secretary of state may have to place all her chips on the black vote (something she has seemingly already figured out).
