According to a C-SPAN/PBS survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted between August 13-15, a staggering 52% of Americans cannot name a single Supreme Court Justice.
While the number of respondents who couldn’t identify a single member of the Supreme Court is down five percentage points from when the same survey was conducted in 2017, 52% is still unacceptably high.
When asked if they could identify President Trump’s current nominee, 60% said they could not, while 35% correctly named Brett Kavanaugh.
This news should come as no surprise considering that the 2018 State of the First Amendment (SOFA) survey found that 40% of Americans could not name a single freedom guaranteed by the First Amendment.
