<p>Supermodel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supermodel-gigi-hadid-talks-being-in-the-public-eye-and-how-shes-learned-to-worry-less-about-other-peoples-opinons" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gigi Hadid</a> was arrested on possession of marijuana on July 10 during her summer vacation in the Cayman Islands before being released on bail and pleading guilty.</p>
<p>The 28-year-old model traveled with friends via private plane to the island, landing at <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2023/07/gigi-hadid-reportedly-arrested-for-marijuana-possession-in-cayman-islands" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Owen Roberts International Airport</a> where customs authorities allegedly found &#8220;ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja&#8221; in their suitcases, the <a href="https://caymanmarlroad.com/2023/07/17/gigi-hadid-charged-with-drugs-offenses/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cayman Marl Road</a> reported.</p>
<p>She was arrested on &#8220;suspicion Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja,&#8221; the outlet noted.</p>

<p>Hadid and her friend were then transported to a Prisoner Detention Center, before being released on bail. On July 12, Gigi and one of her friends appeared in court and pleaded guilty. Both were fined $1,000.</p>
<p>A representative for the supermodel told <a href="https://www.eonline.com/news/1380481/gigi-hadid-released-after-being-arrested-for-marijuana-in-cayman-islands?cmpid=social_instagram_bio%26source%3Dinstagram-enews%26medium%3Dlink-post" target="_blank" rel="noopener">E! News</a> that, &#8220;Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017,&#8221; the representative added. &#8220;Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.&#8221;</p>
<p>Medical marijuana is legal in Grand Cayman, Vanity Fair noted, but entering or exiting the country while in possession of marijuana is prohibited, even with a prescription. Limited usage of CBD oil has been allowed for medical purposes since 2016, the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12311405/Gigi-Hadid-arrested-charged-possessing-weed-drug-paraphernalia-flew-Cayman-Island.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> noted.</p>

<p>She even appeared to hint at the trouble she found on the island upon arrival in <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu2IUi0rtkJ/?img_index=10" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one Tuesday post</a>. She captioned her post of island pics, &#8220;All&#8217;s well that ends well.&#8221;</p>
