Supermodel Gigi Hadid said she’s donating the income she’s received from all her Fall 2022 runway shows to help those in Ukraine following Russia President Vladimir Putin’s invasion into the country on February 24.
“Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history,” the 26-year-old Victoria’s Secret model captioned her recent post on Instagram.
“We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something,” she added. “Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

“Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice,” Hadid continued. “May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war- not leaders. HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE.”
The supermodel’s post included a handful of photos from her recent appearances on the catwalk during various fashion weeks held in New York City and Paris, among others.

The comments followed a pledges from Hadid’s sister, Victoria’s Secret model Bella Hadid, who also announced she would be donating portions of her income from her recent runway shows across the globe to aid efforts in Ukraine amid the war.
“I will be donating part of my earnings of this fashion week to help Ukrainian organizations,” Bella wrote on her Instagram Stories, reported Teen Vogue.
“To my model friends and colleagues and whoever is also struggling with this feeling, perhaps this is something we could all contribute to,” she added, along with a link where people could donate.
Bella also shared a post shortly after the war began decrying that the people never win in a war.
“Who benefits from war and violence?” Hadid captioned her post on social media. “The answer is never the people. #standwithukraine.”

Bella made headlines when she was spotted at a “Free Palestine” rally in London, the day after former President Donald Trump verified Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capitol. Hadid’s is an American model with a Palestinian father and a mother who is Dutch, the Sun noted.
Model daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, Kai Gerber, Vittoria Ceretti, Aylah Peterson, among others also joined in on the movement, reported Marie Claire UK.
“@micaarganaraz leading by example,” Gerber shared. “Thank you for inspiring us to do the same.”
