This Study Says One Network Website Is Better For Gender Parity Than Any Other. Guess Which One It Is.

Terrible, sexist, anti-woman Fox News is being praised (begrudgingly so, I’d imagine) for having the best gender parity in news media.

The Women’s Media Center, a women’s group founded by radical feminists like Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda, found in their annual “Divided” report that Fox News’ website “achieves the best gender ratio’ of the major news websites they analyzed, with 50.1 percent of bylines being men and 49.9 percent women,'” as noted by The Hill.

Of the media sites studied in the report, men made up an average of 53.9 percent of all bylines.

Taking second to Fox News was The Huffington Post, with 50.8 percent of their bylines being male.

When it came to broadcast news, however, the gender gap was enormous, finding an average of 74.8 percent of all reports by men.

“ABC World News Tonight” came in dead last with a dismal 11.8 percent of female reporting.

The greatest gender parity was found during “PBS News Hour,” showing 45 percent of their reporting from females.

Men also dominated newspaper bylines:

Men represented 61.9 percent of bylines in the ten major newspapers studied. The San Jose Mercury News fared best in the category, with 44.3 percent of bylines being women, while the New York Daily News came in last with just 24 percent of bylines being women.

“The major cable news networks of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC were not included in the broadcast analysis of the study,” notes The Hill.

“It’s deeply disheartening to see the regression in evening broadcast news at the three major networks,” said Women’s Media Center President Julie Burton.

“Who tells the story is as important as what the story is. Our research continues to show that, overwhelmingly, it is men who are telling the story,” she added.
