On Saturday, a 22-year-old female senior at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, started a trend which triggered leftists into apoplexy, posting a graduation photo with a gun in the waistband of her jeans while wearing a “Trump for Women” T-shirt to support open carry.
Brenna Spencer posed outside the Hunter Museum of American Art in Chattanooga. She told ABC News she wanted the photo to “show who I am as a person.”
Spencer’s tweet elicited some nasty responses from the Left, which surprised her. She said, “I did think that it would get a little attention but not to this degree. It was really, really surprising to see the amount of hate that I got,” adding, “I try to stay off the comments, to be honest. I just know that I got a lot of hate.”
Several people alleged that Spencer broke the law by having her weapon unconcealed at the museum. But Spencer pointed out that her friend took the photo outside the museum and thus she did not go through any kind of museum security. She told ABC, “I know the Tennessee state gun codes.”
ABC News wrote, “The Chattanooga Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment,” possibly implying that ABC News alerted the police about Spencer’s action. That catalyzed Washington Examiner contributor Alana Mastrangelo, who then posted a similar photo taken in Cleveland.
The fact that Spencer’s act may have started a trend delighted more than one person on Twitter:
