Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of Hamas co-founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef, told former CNN anchor Don Lemon in a resurfaced interview that the terrorist group would not stop with Israel.
During the interview — which first aired in July of 2014 — Yousef told Lemon that although the terrorist organization’s primary target appeared to be Israel, the ultimate goal was to build an Islamic state that existed not only above all other societies but in place of them.

“You know, your father was a founding member of Hamas, and you were groomed to take a leadership position,” Lemon began, noting that Yousef had converted to Christianity and left the terrorist group, rejecting everything it stood for, both politically and militarily.
“Why did you do that?” Lemon asked.
“Well, for the simple reasons that we see right now in Gaza, that Hamas does not care about the lives of the Palestinians, does not care about the lives of the Israelis, or Americans,” Yousef replied. “They don’t care about their own lives.”
“They consider dying for the sake of their ideology a way of worship,” Yousef continued. “And how can you continue in that society?”
Lemon went on to ask Yousef whether he believed a peaceful resolution could ever be reached.
“Can you coexist with someone whose mission is to – is your destruction?” Lemon asked.
“Well, Hamas does not seek coexistence and compromise,” Yousef responded. “Hamas is seeking conquest and taking over. And by the way, Israel — the destruction of the state of Israel — is not Hamas’ final destination. Hamas’ final destination is building the Islamic Khalifa, which means an Islamic state on the rubble of every other civilization. These are the ultimate goals of the movement.”

Yousef has spoken out against the terrorist group on a number of occasions, speaking in 2017 to the United Nations Human Rights Council and leaving council members speechless.

Yousef responded directly to the Palestinian Authority, which had blamed Israel for several humanitarian issues — and said that Hamas was the group responsible for every issue he had mentioned.
“The suffering of the Palestinian people is the outcome of your selfish political interests,” Yousef said. “You are the greatest enemy of the Palestinian people.”
