Country star Tori Kelly shared an update with fans on Thursday about what she called “a scary few days” after she was rushed to the hospital for blood clots.
In a lengthy post on Twitter, the 30-year-old country singer talked about how she’s dealing with some “unexpected health challenges” and thanked her fans. However, she also made it clear she will not be performing on Friday ahead of the release of her new EP “Tori.”
“Hi friends … as you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges,” Kelly’s note read. “It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you.”
“I’m feeling stronger now & hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover,” she added. “I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors & nurses who have been looking after me.”

“Of course I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first,” the singer continued. “Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years. I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!”
On Wednesday, Kelly’s husband André Murillo posted a message on his Instagram Story that his wife was “smiling again and feeling stronger,” People magazine noted.
“Not out of the woods but we see the sun,” he added. “Just waiting on a few more answers. Your love and kindness has been overwhelming. Thank you so so much!”
Earlier this week, reports surfaced the singer was hospitalized Sunday night and remained in “really serious” condition after she collapsed while out to dinner.

Sources told TMZ the singer said her heart was beating unusually fast before she collapsed and was “out for awhile.” She was then rushed to Cedars-Sinai hospital by her own car rather than an ambulance.
The “American Idol” star was reportedly “in and out of consciousness” in the hospital, where she’s reportedly being treated for blood clots that were discovered around several of her vital organs, the outlet noted. Doctors are reportedly working to determine if any blood clots are near or around her heart.
Kelly was previously scheduled to perform at The Roxy in Los Angeles on Friday night for the release her new EP. While the singer made it clear in her note she will not be there, she did announce that the new music will still come out on July 28.
