Pop singer Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles had some strong words for fans who criticized her daughter’s appearance.
The 42-year-old performer debuted white-silver hair and a shiny silver Versace gown while promoting her Renaissance World Tour concert film at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Saturday night. Some followers accused Beyoncé of “lightening her skin” over the years, which they claim was apparent at the event.
Tina said these accusations were baseless and shared her thoughts in a lengthy Instagram post.

“Came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stupid ignorant self, hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white,” Knowles wrote of the video montage she shared, which was accompanied by the Beyoncé song, “Brown Skin Girl.”
She accused detractors of criticizing Beyoncé due to “hate and jealousy.”

Tina continued, “She does a film, called the renaissance, where the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver carpet, and suggested silver attire and you bozos decide that she’s trying to be a white woman and is bleaching her skin?”
“Duh, she wore silver hair to match her silver dress as a fashion statement clown… ALIEN Superstar duh!” she added, referencing one of her daughter’s newest songs.
Tina chastised the critics questioning Beyoncé’s look. “I am sick and tired of people attacking her. Every time she does something that she works her ass off for and is a statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience. Here you sad little haters come out the woodwork. Jealousy and racism, sexism, double standards, you perpetuate those things,” she said. “Instead of celebrating a sister or just ignoring if you don’t like her. I am sick of you losers.”
Beyoncé’s mom also expressed her outrage that a reporter from TMZ had the “audacity” to ask the singer’s hairdresser for a statement about the skin lightening controversy overall. “That made…my blood boil that this white woman felt so entitled to discuss her blackness,” her mom wrote in the Instagram post.
