A publisher halted sales for a tell-all book after the identity of the royal who made a “racist” comment about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first born was accidentally reportedly revealed in a foreign copy of Omid Scobie’s book.
Xander Publishers told the Daily Mail on Tuesday that a request to halt sales in Holland of Scobie’s biography, “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” had been approved after the identity of the royal who had “concerns” about Archie’s skin color had gotten through an editing process.
“I can’t talk about the details,” a spokesperson for the publishing house told the outlet. “We have, however, received a request to put the title on hold, and that is what we have done. We are awaiting further instructions. I do not know how long this will be.”

In the final edition, Scobie doesn’t name the royal due to libel laws. However, an earlier copy sent to Dutch journalists did reportedly appear to reveal the person’s identity in the translation, according to the Daily Mail, who chose to redact it.
It is reportedly in a section of the book referencing letters written between King Charles III and Markle about the alleged conversation, “But in those private letters [the identity] was confirmed: ….” it read.
In the 2021 Oprah Winfrey tell-all interview, the Duchess of Sussex claimed there had been “several” conversations “about how dark his [Archie’s] skin might be when he’s born,” as previously reported.
“Potentially and what that would mean or look like,” Markle added.
Harry confirmed the alleged incident to Oprah, saying, “That conversation I’m never going to share. But at the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked. I’m not comfortable sharing it.”
In 2018, Markle and Harry tied the knot in a royal celebration at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Two years later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal roles, and eventually ended up leaving the United Kingdom, moving to Southern California where they raise their two children.
