If you’re expecting a heart of gold, brace yourself. This is the real Meghan Markle. Not even her fake-<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DXWQDhnDDMt/">empathetic eyebrows</a> can save her now.
It’s not like I was anticipating a glowing review, but I grabbed a bucket of popcorn when I got the results. “It is pretty damning stuff, but I&#8217;m afraid this is what I am seeing in the handwriting,” a leading analyst from the British Institute of Graphologists, Tracey Trussell, told The Daily Wire. “I&#8217;ve found that the handwriting never lies!”

The rigid unevenness of her handwriting pierced my heart. Why was the Duchess of Montecito doing this to us?

But I wouldn’t care about Megligraphy, except for this: Along with her rinse-and-repeat story about demanding that an allegedly misogynist <a href="https://x.com/NickRewind/status/1125399474048839681">dish soap company</a> change its TV ad when she was 12 (<a href="https://www.newsweek.com/meghan-markle-famous-feminist-dish-soap-story-questioned-vanity-fair-revenge-tom-bower-1725559">Vanity Fair</a> couldn’t even verify the whole story), she’s been talking about her handwriting for decades — and loving every minute of it.
Meghan appeared on <a href="https://youtu.be/ivBc4VeTubg?t=1">&#8220;Larry King Now&#8221;</a> in 2013, two years into unremarkably starring on “<a href="https://suits.fandom.com/wiki/Meghan_Markle">Suits</a>” and three years before landing Prince <a href="https://www.instyle.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-relationship-11834849">Harry</a>. When King inquired as to whether Meghan was a calligrapher, she replied with characteristic pseudo-humility, “I, I, I … I used to be, yes. That was, um … I went to all-girls Catholic school. Handwriting class was one of those lost arts.” King held up the writing sample for the camera (it said “I Love Larry King”) while Meghan appeared pleased with the extra flourishes she added to drugstore cursive.
In 2016, she told <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@dinosorr5/video/7485563017799699743">AOL Build</a> that she paid the bills with commissioned calligraphy while struggling as an actress. “I just had always had nice penmanship,” she bragged. “I’d done, I don’t know, celebrity correspondence for Dolce &amp; Gabbana or The Four Seasons. I did Paula Patton and Robin Thicke’s wedding.” Oh, here, Meghan, it looks like you might have accidentally dropped these names.
Are you a survivor of the Netflix series “With Love, Meghan”? Then you saw her fawn over her own handwriting there, too. Lamenting an A-minus in penmanship class from like 100 years ago, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reels/DHWGbPyIxva/">she said</a> of the “little swirls” she’s still obsessed with including, “You know what, I’ll take the ‘minus’ for a little bit of character.” So relatable, your majesty. 
Unlike butter churning or lute playing, calligraphy isn’t some sort of ancient skillset we don’t see very much. Proving the writing style’s <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/29/style/calligraphy-handwriting-revival.html">revived popularity</a>, Etsy hosts <a href="https://www.etsy.com/market/calligraphy_on_etsy">thousands of shops</a> peddling custom designs by crafters powering a <a href="https://www.intelmarketresearch.com/calligraphy-pen-market-28985">$1.28 billion</a> global calligraphy pen market. But these are gestural, flowing expressions of art. Meghan’s is the opposite of that. 
“We know that Meghan is obsessed with appearances,” Trussell observed. “Everything in her world is hyper-controlled and super focused on perfectionism, which means she is forever teetering on the brink.” 
Maybe you’ve heard of handwriting analysis helping to <a href="https://forensicexpertinvestigation.com/handwriting-of-serial-killers/">solve crimes</a>. In the civilian lane, graphology can uncover roughly <a href="https://www.pens.com/blog/handwriting-infographic/">5,000 personality traits</a> by studying the spacing between words, the sizing of letters, and slanting and looping patterns, among other things. “Our handwriting is the unique pattern of our psychology expressed in symbols on the page, and graphology is the science of deciphering these symbols,” Trussell said. Of course I happily unleashed this resource on forensically dissecting the celebrated founder of <a href="https://asever.com/collections/spreads">fruit spread</a>.
Trussell kindly accepted my request to analyze Meghan’s calligraphy from <a href="https://asever.com/">As ever</a> brand packaging, along with Meghan’s handwritten notes that often accompany celebrity gift basket swag. Here’s what Trussell read between the lines.
“Meghan may be producing a polished performance, but from a graphologist’s perspective, it’s style over substance — a type of ephemeral pseudo sophistication that lacks soul,” Trussel shared, describing a style that functions like a tourniquet to natural flow.
You could say that someone who just teased a photo of their <a href="https://people.com/meghan-markle-celebrates-prince-archie-7th-birthday-new-photos-princess-lilibet-11967353">son Archie</a> to possibly distract from less flattering headlines about how she&#8217;s <a href="https://www.aol.com/articles/meghan-markle-prince-harry-living-085815874.html">living a separate life from her prince husband</a> might be lacking in the soul department. At least when it comes to publicity.  
Noting the stiffness and rigidity I saw on the chocolates, Trussell said of the “clockwork” nature of Meghan’s lettering, “This reflects her intolerant and inflexible approach to life, her affected, contrived and disingenuous nature, and further conceals underlying feelings of inadequacy.” That inflexibility is not at all shocking, considering how Meghan forced the Kardashians to delete <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/DlistedRoyals/comments/1oudnid/kim_kardashian_and_kris_jenner_quietly_delete/">photos of Harry</a> staring at Kris Jenner’s chest from Instagram, when it was obvious guests would be photographed at the party. 
Trussell also didn’t let Meghan off the hook when it came to the smoke-and-mirror messaging of her excessively flattering and flowery gift notes. “Whatever the truth, the fact that she feels the need to construct and project something so flawless is telling.” As we can see from the following message, there&#8217;s not enough zhuzh on Earth to obscure the main message that she was <a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/article/meghan-markle-guest-editor-september-issue-british-vogue-2019">guest-editing British Vogue</a>.

Getting into the nitty-gritty, Trussell sees specific details in Meghan’s penmanship that tell the real story. “The way the writing tumbles forward obliquely reveals Meghan’s passion and obsession, and her acute sensitivity. Plus, the letters are nearly all joined, so interrupt her at your peril!” Mirroring the line-crossing intimacy of the time Meghan awkwardly <a href="https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/2184421/meghan-markle-latest-kelly-mckee-zajfen">cradled her friend’s baby bump</a> on a red carpet, her oversized lettering indicates manufactured confidence, Trussell says: “This is merely attention-seeking and an overcompensation for feelings of inferiority and anxiety, which are all lurking under wraps.”
While upturned strokes signal good intentions, Trussell says the fact that those lines always hook backward in the opposite direction reveals Meghan’s inflated ego and greed. “It’s all for applause and effect, without any real feeling or emotion behind the intention,” she shared. Those little frills Meghan compulsively adds reveal anxiousness, a desire for protection, and apprehension about the unknown.  
This was all extraordinarily delicious. But my guiltiest pleasure in this analysis of Meghan’s handwriting might be best portrayed via the sweeping letter “A” in As ever. “Meghan’s consciously drawn large (disproportionately oversized) capitals tell of her immense personal pride and vanity, her arrogance and presumptuousness, whilst disclosing her craving for respect and approval,” Trussell says. “She’s got her head in the clouds.”
Case closed. Vain, insecure, and calculating, Meghan Markle’s calligraphy proves she’s thirsty as ever to be loved with a cursive capital L.

Previously fronting <a href="https://variety.com/2026/film/news/meghan-markle-harry-netflix-partnership-struggling-1236690802/">$60 million</a> to support Markle’s alleged “<a href="https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/meghan-markle-netflix-as-ever-netflix-divests-1236681185/">passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways</a>,” the streaming giant officially dumped the duchess of Sussex and her <a href="https://www.the-independent.com/life-style/royal-family/prince-harry-hostage-meghan-markle-b2317619.html">hostage prince</a>, leaving hopes of future projects and a whole bunch of <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-15656781/meghan-daughter-lilibet-new-photo-promote-brand-netflix.html">jars of jam</a> in a &#8220;<a href="https://genius.com/Beyonce-irreplaceable-lyrics">box to the left</a>&#8221; (lyrics by <a href="https://okmagazine.com/p/why-beyonce-backing-off-from-meghan-markle-sneaky-attempts-land-her-pal/">Beyoncé</a>, one of <a href="https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1338778-meghan-markle-snubbed-by-fake-celebrity-friends-ahead-of-major-milestone">Meg’s fake BFFs)</a>.
Within hours of Netflix breakup headlines hitting mainstream media, Markle employed her personal PR Iron Dome: posting about her kids on Instagram. Well, she posts everything but their faces. As <a href="https://people.com/princess-lilibet-makes-cameo-meghan-markle-new-as-ever-launch-11928261">People</a> breathlessly reported the moment it went live, Markle’s <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DV_dLhXjbqh/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=73718fa1-c472-4a1a-8e79-54aa696f0cda">As Ever Instagram</a> account dropped a close-up shot of Markle’s hands cupping her daughter Lilibet’s hands, which held a white bloom to tease an upcoming collab with “<a href="https://highcampsupply.com/?utm_source=ig&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_content=link_in_bio&amp;fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMjU2MjgxMDQwNTU4AAGn1g5l-f2J_FlPhaw0PqM5IYLHTrXZVw5LrZfxVYa1c6Qzww1FPIICQgbokwY_aem_t6YJfhhq52x6VpquZyFhIQ">ephemeral luxury</a>” flower brand <a href="https://www.instagram.com/highcampgardenias/">High Camp Gardenias</a>. For when nothing but a <a href="https://asever.com/collections/shop-all/products/the-garden-tea-bloom-box">$255 limited-edition box of flowers</a>, herbs, and tea stuff will do.
Earlier that day, as if she could sense the future bad press, Markle shared an <a href="https://youtu.be/hY7_zZ2_O_0?t=32">Instagram video</a> featuring a glitch-like snippet of Lilibet’s voice, along with her shoe, and her tiny hand patting a chicken. If she can keep fans flapping in the breeze when it comes to her kids, the clickbait always works. But it feels less like she’s protecting her kids from the spotlight and more like she’s holding onto the only card she has left to play. When all else fails for Markle, I bet we’ll finally see <a href="https://www.instyle.com/prince-harry-meghan-markle-kids-archie-lilibet-11913353">Lilibet and Archie’s</a> faces. 
Probably too innocently nicknamed “sharenting,” posting about kids on social media remains a hotly debated topic, with <a href="https://mottpoll.org/reports-surveys/parents-social-media-likes-and-dislikes-sharenting">75% of parents</a> snitching on other parents for posting too much information about their kids online. Whether it’s about their location, embarrassing experiences, or inappropriate photos, an online presence can sabotage a <a href="https://www.ashburnpsych.com/what-is-sharenting-and-is-it-bad/">child’s self-confidence</a>, make them <a href="https://www.dhs.gov/know2protect/know-the-threats?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=22114696222&amp;gbraid=0AAAAAq3BANVr0-koUUiZHyLfT0rntMNMx&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjwmunNBhDbARIsAOndKpl8J7UQUZb1Om68QLrVovVq9iqBPeqeESdKrIMc39UlvMPgU845ougaApAgEALw_wcB">vulnerable</a> to child predators, or worse. 
Plenty of celebrity parents succeed in keeping their kids’ lives offline. If you think about it long enough, you might remember that actors Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes actually have two daughters you never see. Responding to a fan on Instagram, <a href="https://people.com/parents/eva-mendes-wont-post-photos-daughters-until-can-give-consent/">Mendes said</a> of their kids, “I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life.” Halle Berry has also kept her children’s lives on lock, telling <a href="https://x.com/TODAYshow/status/1126103048282091521?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1126103048282091521%7Ctwgr%5Ea8fee1dbb0517939ddd6767aaa1e875169e151e1%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpeople.com%2Fembed%3Furl%3Dhttps3A2F2Ftwitter.com2Ftwitter2Fstatus2F1126103048282091521id%3Dmntl-sc-block_1-0-iframeoptions%3De303DdocId%3D6027110">TODAY</a>, “It’s a safety issue. I just don’t want to plaster them all over the internet. That just doesn’t feel right for me.” 
The reason you probably can’t picture what <a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/jeremyhayes/photo-strict-celeb-parents">George Clooney’s kids</a> look like — or Drew Barrymore’s, Adele’s, or Chris Hemsworth’s, for that matter — is that their faces are rarely, if ever, featured on social media. But the opposite is true for kids who aren’t just getting “sharented” on social media; they’re built into their family’s <a href="https://share.google/ItysxZElbjdFYmSx0">billion-dollar</a> brand. 
<a href="https://share.google/GGwtIv1U6lL8ctNzv">Fifteen years</a> into posting on Instagram, we’ve all been around the block enough to know how brutal the social media microscope can be. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s oldest daughter, North West, made her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/fDOILEOSzD/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=733a9db2-7ba2-4c6c-8425-fe90400ea051">social media debut</a> as an infant in 2013. By the ripe old age of 10 months old, she was posing with her parents for Vogue and making headlines like “<a href="https://pagesix.com/2014/03/26/north-wests-vogue-photo-shoot-faux-pas-peeing-on-kanye/">North West’s Vogue photo shoot faux pas: Peeing on Kanye</a>,” clearly aimed at humanizing the Kardashians.
Over a decade later, 12-year-old North launched her own <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DSgA9RugaXA/">Instagram </a>and a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kimandnorth?lang=en">TikTok account</a>, which she reportedly shares with her mom; it has 21 million followers. Recent posts show her in decidedly anti-Kardashian <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@kimandnorth/video/7605177569343786271?lang=en">blue hair</a>, finger <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/celebrity/articles/north-west-debuts-faux-septum-220134647.html">piercings</a>, fake face tattoos, and a black grill that creates the illusion of having no teeth. Is she just rebelling against her famous-for-being-famous mom? Creating an identity unrelated to her notorious rapper dad? Or just existing as a ridiculously privileged kid? Nothing’s weird when shock value is the family business.
When fans voiced concern for North’s well-being, Kim responded, “<a href="https://people.com/north-west-responds-to-criticism-of-her-dermal-piercing-11852360">It’s okay [heart hands emoji]</a>.” But as followers continue to zero in on North’s “<a href="https://thetab.com/2025/08/29/why-is-everyone-teasing-north-west-for-her-walk-the-comments-about-her-knees-need-to-stop">knock-kneed</a>” walk, the alleged <a href="https://rickeysmileymorningshow.com/3713777/kanye-west-reveals-daughter-north-west-has-dyslexia-and-bowel-issues/">&#8220;bowel&#8221; problems Kanye brought up</a>, and the <a href="https://www.eonline.com/news/1388324/north-west-shares-dyslexia-diagnosis-during-live-chat-with-mom-kim-kardashian#:~:text=North%20West%20Shares%20Dyslexia%20Diagnosis,Should%20I%20drop%20an%20album?%22">dyslexia diagnosis</a> North discussed on TikTok, &#8220;okay&#8221; doesn’t seem to paint the right picture.
It’s a similar story for kids who become regulars on other social media platforms, as the Hulu documentary &#8220;<a href="https://www.hulu.com/series/devil-in-the-family-the-fall-of-ruby-franke-302e037b-92b9-4c45-8acd-a0db60d5a159">Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke</a>” exposed. Eight years after the channel was launched in 2015, Franke’s 12-year-old son was recorded on a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8AipFpRabo">stranger’s home security camera</a> with ligature wounds on his ankles and wrists, looking malnourished and asking for help. Okay, I have to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe Meghan Markle is intentionally making a solid move by not sharing much about her kids’ lives on social media until they’re old enough to decide for themselves. Still, I can&#8217;t help but wonder if she&#8217;s just waiting to cash in on the big reveal. 
In 2008, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reportedly sold exclusive photos of their newborn twins, Vivienne and Knox, to Hello! and People magazine for <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-15059015">$14 million</a>. As ethics columnist <a href="https://abcnews.com/Entertainment/story?id=4318533&amp;page=1#:~:text=J.,of%20money%2C%20parenthood%20and%20fame.">Dr. Bruce Weinstein</a> noted, “If your own parents are literally selling you out, where can one feel safe?” 
Maybe celebrity kid pics don’t go for quite as much these days, especially if you’re driving the Sussex struggle bus. But when it comes to Meghan Markle’s kids, we’ll see how bad the press needs to be for us to get the full picture.

It reminds me of the Steve Buscemi <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/MemeRestoration/comments/1j3l9c1/how_do_you_do_fellow_kids_old_man_with_skateboard/">meme</a> from “30 Rock,” where his old man undercover cop character—rocking a skateboard, hoodie, and “music band” tee—asks a group of high school students, “<a href="https://youtu.be/fiOMbqPHFwo?t=28">How do you do, fellow kids</a>?” It’s almost a fetish for the ultra-wealthy to cosplay regular people. Like, hello, stop trying to co-op our normie lives, you guys.
Just check out the never-ending supply of GoFundMes <a href="https://www.thecut.com/article/people-are-pissed-at-celebrity-gofundmes.html">posted</a> by celebrities, desperate for us to understand that millionaire life is harder than we think and to donate our entire paychecks accordingly. And we enjoy no shortage of <a href="https://people.com/style/kourtney-kardashian-and-travis-barker-in-matching-outfits-at-truck-stop/">photoshoots</a> from stars turning shopping for Cheetos at 7-Eleven into high fashion. Of course, who could forget the time Ellen DeGeneres compared quarantining in her multi-million dollar California home to “<a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ellen-degeneres-quarantine-jail-comparison-backlash/">being in jail</a>,” or the bit where <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad_higXixRA">Bill Gates</a> guessed grocery prices on her show.
“When’s the last time that you have been at a supermarket?” <a href="https://youtu.be/ad_higXixRA?t=4">DeGeneres</a> asked.
“A long time ago,” Gates said.

Hey, if I’m gonna shell out $350 for your <a href="https://asever.com/collections/shop-all/products/the-complete-as-ever-pantry">complete line of jams</a>, candles, and edible flower sprinkles, I want to believe we could hang out in real life.
Sorry not sorry for dunking on Meghan Markle, duchess of Southern California, but she commits this crime like it’s her brand. Her Netflix series, “<a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81770808">With Love, Meghan</a>,” portrayed the daily goings-on of a domestic goddess happily tending to her loving family, when in her personal life, Meghan <a href="https://www.nowtolove.com.au/royals/meghan-markle-first-husband-trevor-engelson-69769/">ditched her first husband</a> and most of her relatives at the first whiff of fame and money. She said she had <a href="https://youtu.be/2VDycxkZeRw?t=89">no idea who Prince Harry was</a>, even though she was already <a href="https://www.tatler.com/article/meghan-markle-princess-eugenie-friendship">buds with Princess Eugenie</a> before dating him; she alleged she was <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/07/world/europe/oprah-interview-harry-meghan.html">suffocated by royal fashion protocol in England</a>, and yet she <a href="https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/slideshow/2574444/meghan-markle-princess-diana-fashion-photos/10/">copied Princess Diana</a>’s look any <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintMeghanMarkle/comments/10ljd24/was_harry_a_mark_meghan_cosplaying_diana_down_to/">chance she got</a>.
I admit that I hate-subscribe to her newsletter. Psychological studies prove that we’re more <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37888143/">attracted to the perceived warmth</a> and openness of truth tellers we believe, versus scam artists we don&#8217;t. Maybe it’s the denser atmosphere down here on planet Earth, but we can spot A-list bull honky from a mile away. But the real key to connecting with us normies isn’t relatability; it’s authenticity. Need proof? Instead of pretending not to be a flashy <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/danalexander/article/the-definitive-networth-of-donaldtrump/">billionaire</a>, then-presidential candidate Donald Trump offered kids rides in his <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2015/07/30/politics/donald-trump-helicopter-iowa-state-fair">$7 million helicopter</a> at the 2015 Iowa State Fair.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have their multi-year deal with Netflix renewed when it expires in September, according to a <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/royals/35969847/prince-harry-meghan-netflix-deal-axed/">report</a> from The Sun.
The royal couple has launched several projects with the streaming giant since the announcement of their $100 million deal in 2020. These specials and shows have had varying degrees of success, with the 2022 docuseries “Harry &amp; Meghan” remaining the most popular among them. 
Meanwhile, other projects, such as Prince Harry’s “Polo” and Markle’s lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan,” have failed to capture the attention of Netflix’s audience. In a recent <a href="https://about.netflix.com/en/news/what-we-watched-the-first-half-of-2025">Engagement Report</a> put out by the streamer, the “Polo” documentary was listed as number 3,436 on the list of shows ranked by most-watched, while Markle’s new series came in at number 383.
A second season of “With Love, Meghan” has already been filmed and is set to debut in September. Her first <a href="https://people.com/chrissy-teigen-appear-season-2-meghan-markle-netflix-series-with-love-meghan-11736557">confirmed</a> guest star is Chrissy Teigen.
“There’s no animosity from either side,” an unnamed source told The Sun of Netflix’s decision not to renew the contract. “Things have just run their course.”
The insider also discussed why “Harry &amp; Meghan” was the most successful project so far. 
“Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and knew, realistically, it would prove the zenith of content from the Montecito pair,&#8221; the source said, noting that the partnership ending represents a &#8220;huge loss of revenue.&#8221;
“They’re not unhappy with how things turned out — they got those initial hits, and produced one of the most talked-about shows of all time,&#8221; the insider added. 
Prince Harry and Markle have had a hard time achieving fame and success in the United States after quitting their full-time working royal roles in 2020 and moving to California permanently. Critics have been vocal in their distaste, as reflected on social media after news of the Netflix partnership&#8217;s end came to light.

Prince Harry sat down for an interview in California with the BBC one day after losing an appeal to reinstate his security detail in the United Kingdom.
The former working British royal, who quit his official duties and fled to California with his actress wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, said he was very upset at the outcome.
&#8220;I&#8217;m devastated &#8211; not so much as devastated with the loss that I am about the people behind the decision, feeling as though this is okay. Is it a win for them?&#8221; Prince Harry said.
&#8220;I&#8217;m sure there are some people out there, probably most likely the people that wish me harm, [who] consider this a huge win,” he added.
Harry, 40, said his father, King Charles, &#8220;won&#8217;t speak to me because of this security stuff.” He also alluded to the king’s current cancer battle, saying he did &#8220;not know how much longer my father has,” per <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8074n5z597o">BBC</a>.
“I can&#8217;t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,&#8221; the Duke of Sussex said during the interview. 
&#8220;There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,&#8221; he continued, saying that he has &#8220;forgiven&#8221; them.
&#8220;I would love reconciliation with my family. There&#8217;s no point continuing to fight anymore, life is precious,&#8221; Prince Harry said, insisting that the security argument has &#8220;always been the sticking point.&#8221;
Markle and Harry share two children: Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4. The Duchess of Sussex did not address the interview, but did share a black and white photo on Instagram of her husband and the children facing away from the camera.

Meghan Markle is getting dragged for her over-the-top arrival to a Broadway show, with critics calling her four-car motorcade through Manhattan “ridiculous.”
The Duchess of Sussex attended a showing of the revival of “Gypsy” last week escorted by three other vehicles, both to hold her security personnel and to serve as decoys. Page Six <a href="https://pagesix.com/2025/04/11/royal-family/meghan-markle-hires-over-the-top-motorcade-for-broadway-night/">reported</a> that Markle hired former Secret Service agents as part of her private security detail and that the unmarked vehicle, which belonged to the New York Police Department, carried two intel detectives.
One paparazzi photographer described Markle’s measures as total overkill. The unnamed source said her motorcade stunt was “absolutely abnormal.”
“Taylor [Swift] usually has two cars — her car that she’s in and a security car with her team,” the source added. “And if she’s going somewhere, she has a separate car on-site with her team already there, but they don’t travel together.”
The paparazzo mentioned other A-list celebrities and noted that “no one gets police escorts.”
“Meghan is out of control and over-the-top, and it’s ridiculous if the city is paying for this,” the source told the outlet. “And if NYPD was not on duty, then they shouldn’t be allowed to run lights. Somebody’s got to be paying for it.”
The outlet also noted that Prince Harry was not in attendance at the event.
Social media users also shared their reactions to the motorcade. “She’s completely ridiculous. The future Queen goes shopping in London and drives herself with no fuss. The first episode of Meghan Markle’s new podcast just dropped, and it’s already getting obliterated by critics.
“Confessions of a Female Founder” is meant to highlight successful businesswomen and “inspire anyone who’s interested in turning their own entrepreneurial dreams into a reality.” But multiple reviews say the first episode, which focuses on Bumble dating app founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, is plagued by multiple issues.
Herd is a longtime friend of the Duchess of Sussex. Several critics note that the conversation is surface-level and too focused on Markle. The Times of London reviewer <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/culture/tv-radio/article/meghan-podcast-review-confessions-female-founder-075z0m0sp">said</a> the episode contained nothing but “vapid lessons in self-love.”
“Predictably, she has nothing to say about real business problems such as logistics, management techniques or supply chain issues. Equally predictably, there is lots of guff about how to love yourself and spread positive energy through the world,” the reviewer added.  
“I suspect that this is not the sort of thing most small business people spend much time fretting over. But then Meghan’s business isn’t really a business. It’s a bit like the corporate equivalent of Marie Antoinette’s dairy farm — a pleasant game of make-believe for an idle rich woman.”
The Times reviewer also mocked Wolfe Herd for claiming to be on a “journey of self-love and self-discovery.”
“I’m going to foundationally re-architect the way people date and the way people love,” Wolfe Herd said during the episode.
“By this point I was seized by an urge to beat my head against the wall and foundationally re-architect my skull,” the reviewer wrote of that moment.
The Telegraph reviewer had similar <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2025/04/08/confessions-of-a-female-founder-podcast-meghan-review/">feedback</a>, saying the “Confessions” included an “inane stream of mindless aphorisms” and “no confessions or secrets.”
“The frustrating thing is that Wolfe Herd, who is just 35, presumably does have wisdom to impart, having been part of the team that created Tinder before she created Bumble,” the reviewer noted. “Imagine the drive, the talent, the decisions and sheer bloody ruthlessness it must take to achieve what she has. We get none of it.”
The reviewer from <a href="https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/2038917/meghan-markle-podcast-review">Express</a> said Markle steamrolled the whole thing. “Meghan takes control of the narrative early on in the episode. She bluntly directs the podcast by informing her friend of how she wants the conversation to be ‘relaxed and easy’ — which is normally a chat you would have with a guest behind-the-scenes instead of on-air for broadcast,” the reviewer noted. 
Despite the criticism, “Confessions” debuted in the top 10 chart in all categories on Apple Podcasts on its first day of release Tuesday. It sits at <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/charts">number four</a> on the Apple Podcast Top Charts list.
Markle’s previous Spotify podcast, “Archetypes,” was canceled after one season. The former working royal also got mixed reviews for her new lifestyle series on Netflix, “With Love, Meghan,” and her product line called As Ever.

Gwyneth Paltrow had some fun with rumors that she&#8217;s been feuding with Meghan Markle, and posted a video featuring the two ladies visiting together.
It started when social media users thought a video Paltrow posted of herself in her kitchen cooking with no makeup on was a subtle dig at Markle’s new lifestyle Netflix series &#8220;With Love, Meghan.” Markle has faced criticism and dismal reviews that have panned the royal’s show as a disaster and pointless.
She captioned it, “My cleaner take on a classic breakfast: gluten-free buttermilk biscuits, not-so-perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, and crispy bacon<a href="https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/boyfriendbreakfast/"> #boyfriendbreakfast</a>.”
In response fans wrote things like, &#8220;Love this. No fake house, fake kitchen, fake hair extensions, fake friends just your beautiful true self. Such a breath of fresh air to see,” <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/gwyneth-paltrow-shuts-down-meghan-markle-feud-rumors-tongue-in-cheek-video">Fox News</a> noted.
Another person added, “With Shade, Gwyneth &#8230; I see what you did there.&#8221;

Following all the online chatter about the two being involved in some kind of feud, the “Goop” founder posted a video on her Instagram Stories, answering one fan&#8217;s question that read, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?”
In the clip, Paltrow said, “I genuinely do not understand this, at all whatsoever. Do you understand this?”
She then pans the camera over to a person sitting there with her — and it&#8217;s the Duchess of Sussex, eating some pie. In response, she just shrugs her shoulders, smirks, and appears to start laughing.
The online rumors followed an interview the Marvel star did recently with <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/story/gwyneth-paltrow-2025-interview">Vanity Fair</a> when she was asked if she knew her royal Montecito neighbors.
&#8220;I don’t know Meghan and [Prince]Harry,&#8221; the actress said. &#8220;I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.&#8221;
She was also pressed about Markle’s lifestyle series, and as someone who found her way into that lane after her acting career with her “Goop” brand, Paltrow said there was plenty of space.
&#8220;There’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them,” the actress said. &#8220;I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.&#8221;
Markle’s eight-episode series debuted on Netflix in March, and the duchess recently shared the news that it would be coming back for a second season. A trailer for Meghan Markle’s new podcast dropped on Tuesday, and with it comes more details about the Duchess of Sussex’s latest business venture.
The wife of Prince Harry, who quit her job as a full-time working royal in 2020, shared some information about her new podcast, &#8220;Confessions of a Female Founder,&#8221; which is being produced by Lemonada Media. 
&#8220;I&#8217;m Meghan, and this is ‘Confessions of a Female Founder,’ a show where I chat with female entrepreneurs and friends about the sleepless nights, the lessons learned, and the laser focus that got them to where they are today,&#8221; Markle says in the <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/confessions-of-a-female-founder-with-meghan/id1803670198">trailer</a>. 
&#8220;We&#8217;re diving into the highs – and the lows – and the kind of advice that turns small ideas into billion-dollar businesses,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;And of course, we&#8217;re going to get some girl talk!&#8221; 
One guest chimed in, &#8220;It just started climbing and climbing, and there was 5,000, 10,000 people on our website.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m broke, and no one is calling me,&#8221; another person said. Another unidentified participant said, &#8220;I knew in that moment that I&#8217;d rather stand for something than sell a whole ton of product and stand for nothing.&#8221;

Most of Markle’s business ventures have been underwhelming, including a recently launched cooking and lifestyle show on Netflix that’s been absolutely skewered and parodied online for weeks. 
Many users also pointed out that her new podcast sounds very similar to the existing podcast “Confessions of a CEO.”

The “Suits” actress signed a deal with Lemonada Media in 2024 after Spotify opted out of a second season of the podcast with the royal couple. In 2020, Prince Harry and Markle signed an agreement with the streaming site for $20 million, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/03/13/entertainment/meghan-markle-lands-podcast-confessions-of-a-female-founder-after-spotify-disaster/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost">New York Post</a> noted.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex&#8217;s company, Archewell Audio, produced 12 episodes of the Spotify podcast, which aired from August to November 2022.
The streaming site and the royal couple’s company released a joint statement in 2023 that they “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series [they] made together.”

In addition to launching a new podcast, Markle recently dropped a new lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan” on Netflix. It has already been renewed for a second season, despite criticism and reviews that have panned the royal’s show as a disaster and pointless.
The duchess previously shared news that the eight-episode series, which debuted on Netflix March 4, was coming back. In the first week, the series placed in the top 10 on the streaming site, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/03/07/markles-with-love-meghan-renewed-for-another-season-despite-low-review-ranking/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=socialflowForbesMainTwitter&amp;utm_source=ForbesMainTwitter">Forbes</a> noted.
The series has scored dismal reviews from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and, unsurprisingly, did particularly poorly in the United Kingdom.
One reviewer from The Guardian <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/mar/04/with-love-meghan-netfix-deal-harry-royals">called it</a> “pointless” and predicted it would be the Sussexes’ last television show after several Netflix flops. The outlet also said the series was bound to fail “unless the broader public suddenly develops a hankering for long-form television programmes about a woman filling children’s party bags with seeds and manuka honey.”

Meghan Markle Announces Another Podcast After Losing Spotify Show

Meghan Markle is having a rough week.
The actress turned royal turned tony Montecito resident debuted her new lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix last Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon, every corner of the internet had excoriated her for the effort.
And when it comes to effort, Meghan puts forth a lot.
Not unlike Anne Hathaway or Sally Field circa the 1985 Oscars shouting, “You like me! You really, really like me!” Meghan is a classic try-hard. I don’t say this disparagingly; as someone who regularly brings home-baked treats to professional settings, I respect her domestic hustle. And however disparate our points of view on politics or publicity stunts, I also tip a hat to anyone willing to enter the public arena and welcome scrutiny, a subject with which the duchess is well-acquainted.
Her new show is the latest in a string of attempts at reinvention that Meg and her husband Prince Harry have made since stepping down from their royal duties in January 2020. The much lambasted lifestyle show is preceded by three other documentary projects, all part of their reported $100 million five-year deal with Netflix, and Meghan’s short-lived Archetypes podcast, which rests under the banner of a reported $20 million deal with Spotify. Each project sparked more irritation than the last, but Meg’s new hospitality and cooking show takes the critical cake.
While Meghan and Harry have long held sympathies from legacy media and celebrity circles alike, even mainstream and left-leaning publications including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, ScreenRant, Vulture, and The Cut have no soft spot for their latest production.
Some outlets slam Meghan for her unrelatability and luxurious lifestyle, while others chastise her for not allowing enough access into the rarified world of a real-life American princess. Reviewing the collected criticism of this attempt at a lighthearted escape of a television show feels a little like getting Lindsay Lohan’s emotional whiplash upon her first high school cafeteria foray into the world of The Plastics in Mean Girls. One almost expects the sporadically featured cameraman, who, when asked if he’d like to share a glass of beer left over from a recipe for chicken brine, to respond to Meghan by saying, “So, you agree. You think you’re really pretty.”
While certain criticisms are warranted, they do lack an essentially nuanced understanding of both the show’s genre and its titular star.

Superfans hoping the show — whose trailer billed it as a straightforward lifestyle series — would spill tea on the royal family drama were left sorely disappointed. Just minutes into the first episode, Meghan announces that the sun-drenched kitchen in which she flits about is not inside of her actual house, and she goes on to refer to it as the “set” throughout the rest of the series. The most personal detail she shares about her royal husband is that he sometimes comes strolling into the kitchen when he smells that she’s frying bacon.
Even the most tuned-in Royal-watchers stopped speculating on the family drama about 20 minutes into the famed Oprah tell-all when most of it boiled down to salacious headlines, hearsay, and quite a bit of melodrama — all well-honed by an actress who earned her previous paychecks on a soapy legal drama series. All that said, did critics hoping for a fly-on-the-wall perspective of the royals’ new Montecito digs think that one of the most scrutinized families in the world would again open wide the doors of their life for a Bravo style reality show? They tried that before and it only served to plummet their social stock, most aptly and satirically evidenced by Southpark’s “World Wide Privacy Tour” episode in which Harry and Meg’s animated avatars travel the globe’s media outlets demanding that people leave them alone.
The more frequent complaint of the show and its host is the unrelenting lack of self-awareness: the in-your-face luxury of the one-percent that Meghan treats like it’s accessible to anyone with a pot to boil water in. Among other accouterments of said ridiculousness cited by critics is a backyard honey farm from which a quirky on-staff beekeeper extricates wax for Meghan’s homemade non-toxic candles. Her first guest is Daniel Martin, her longtime makeup artist, with whom she chuckles about how she called his talent agency herself (gasp!) to inquire for her first booking since she didn’t even have a publicist at the time. (How pedestrian!) From celebrity guest Mindy Kaling feigning awe at the fact that Meghan makes her own balloon arches for children’s parties, rather than farm out the chore to a hired hand (the ingenuity!) to Meghan sprinkling edible flowers atop literally everything (and you can too, once her merch website launches!) the show is ripe with out-of-touch excess.
To which, this author says: so what?
One has to wonder if critics claiming offense at Meghan’s unrelatable lifestyle have ever actually watched a lifestyle show; the genre is not supposed to be relatable. At most, it’s aspirational; at minimum, it’s a distraction. With Love, Meghan is not something you settle down to view with a critical eye. It’s something you put on the television while you’re folding heaping baskets of laundry or washing a sink full of dishes. Sure, the patio in the sweet little home my husband and I share doesn’t have enough space for a beehive, nor does our guest room provide occupancy for its quirky keeper, but darn if I wasn’t inspired to see if our local grocery store carries mãnuka honey. 
Other critics come after Meghan for positioning herself — by virtue of hosting this show — as something of an authority on hospitality and cooking. While it’s clear that she genuinely loves both, one does begin to question what qualifies her as the show’s star when she painstakingly arranges (yet another) crudité platter.
From the obsessively perfect and famously difficult Martha Stewart, to the unabashedly entitled and comically out-of-touch Gwyneth Paltrow, to the unmatched Ina Garten, who personifies the comforting charm of “eat, drink, and be merry,” the greats of this space have already been established during its heyday. Everything else is copy. That’s why With Love, Meghan feels, admittedly, a bit misplaced: unaware of what it isn’t and hitting our airwaves about 10 years too late. In an era when anyone can access all-star recipes from the homecooks of Instagram — shared from modest kitchens across our country — it does make the notion of a duchess casually modeling how to create a harvest basket using produce from her own palatial garden feel more than a little tone-deaf. Then again, Hilaria Baldwin, the Boston-born-and-bred wife of actor Alec Baldwin, once hosted a cooking segment on The Today Show and proclaimed to forget the English word for “cucumber,” so immersed in her Spanish culture is she. If there’s anything we’ve learned from celebrities, it’s that proximity to power can create all manner of ego-driven delusions of grandeur.
So, while aspects of the show are inauthentic and silly, and it’s largely devoid of pace and purpose in the way that an eight-episode series that should have been four often are, I didn’t go into the viewing experience expecting anything other than a beautiful West Coast backdrop, a few outfit ideas (even Meghan’s harshest critics admit that her style is impeccable), and a handful of tips and tricks for putting together gifts for loved ones. For all the eye-rolling criticism that her show has garnered, I would bet money on the fact that women all over America are, at this very moment, decanting store-bought peanut butter pretzels into little labeled gift bags. It’s an adorable idea and I dare even the most cynical of snackers not to be touched when they find it on their bedside table along with lavender towels and a carafe of sun tea next time they visit a friend who has watched (or hate-watched) Meghan’s show.
Sure, the duchess’s swooning commentary on the beauty of the weather, dimpled focaccia dough, or an egg yolk is tiresome, as is her penchant for speaking in platitudes that belong on tea towels. She’s understandably guarded enough to appear performative, and the amateurish tips presented as sacrosanct should be taken less seriously, but I didn’t tune in expecting to find this era’s Martha, Gwyneth, or Ina. As a Royal-watching, Nancy Meyers aesthetic-obsessed, amateur home cook, and aspiring excellent hostess, I am exactly the woman for whom this show was made. I watched it for the same reason that I saw Barbie in theaters without expecting it to rival an adaptation of Pride &amp; Prejudice, or enjoy reading a novel with a Nantucket beach scene on the cover without comparing it to Dickens or Dostoevsky.
It’s just a bit of fun, and sometimes, that’s enough.
So, to the show’s harshest and high-minded critics, I offer an invitation: stop watching.
Or, at least find a hobby to keep you busy while you do, because With Love, Meghan has already been renewed for a second season.

Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan” has already been renewed for a second season, despite criticism and reviews that have panned the royal’s show as a disaster and pointless.
“Oh, how I love ASMR! If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on Season 2!” the Duchess of Sussex captioned her post on Instagram —hich blocked people from commenting on the surprising news.
“Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!” she added. “@netflix.”
The eight-episode series debuted on Netflix last week and by Friday, the duchess shared news it was coming back. In the first week, the series placed in the top 10 on the streaming site, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/03/07/markles-with-love-meghan-renewed-for-another-season-despite-low-review-ranking/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=socialflowForbesMainTwitter&amp;utm_source=ForbesMainTwitter">Forbes</a> noted.
“Meghan, Duchess of Sussex invites friends and famous guests to a beautiful California estate, where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips,” the series <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81770808">description</a> on Netflix reads.
The <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/03/07/entertainment/meghan-markles-netflix-show-with-love-meghan-renewed-for-season-2/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_medium=social">New York Post</a> reported that filming and production on the second season was complete, and it was set to drop this fall. 
It was this tidbit that seemed to upset critics, with many taking to social media to note that there was no support or outcry from fans for another season, but that the show had reportedly already completed filming for a second part.
“Honestly, this was an excellent PR strategy. Film the show. Break it into two parts and then make it seem like it was renewed for a second season because everyone loved it,” one person noted on X. &#8220;Good one, but we see right through the BS. With Love, Meghan is a flop.”
Another person added, pointing to a Deadline article, “The truth is out. With Love, Meghan was originally greenlit for two seasons. Nothing new here!”
The series has scored dismal reviews from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and, unsurprisingly, did particularly poorly in the United Kingdom.
A reviewer from The Guardian <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/mar/04/with-love-meghan-netfix-deal-harry-royals">called it</a> “pointless” and predicted it would be the Sussexes’ last television show after several Netflix flops. The outlet also said the series was bound to fail “unless the broader public suddenly develops a hankering for long-form television programmes about a woman filling children’s party bags with seeds and manuka honey.”
The Duchess of Sussex also <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/03/04/lifestyle/meghan-markle-mocked-by-netflix-viewers-for-her-basic-one-pan-pasta-dish-thats-not-food-thats-punishment/">got ridiculed</a> for an unconventional recipe for spaghetti, which she claimed she put in her children’s lunch boxes the next day.
“That’s not food – that’s punishment!” one person remarked.
“With so little water, the dish must be a gluey, sticky, starchy brick,” another person agreed.
“Her food looks very basic and a bit boring,” a third said.
Commenters on X were not impressed either.
“I just saw the 8 episodes, and they are worse than you can possibly imagine,” one <a href="https://x.com/paulamatanovich/status/1896776576244597226" target="_blank" rel="noopener">viewer</a> replied.
“I’m so glad Meghan Markle has a new show on Netflix where I can watch her take pretzels out of a labeled bag and put them into a new bag…then label it. The people’s Martha Stewart!” another commenter <a href="https://x.com/quickqspod/status/1896899586389848453">joked</a>.
