<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/prince-harry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prince Harry</a> said his family wasn&#8217;t there for him and he didn&#8217;t have the &#8220;support structure&#8221; he needed following the death of his mother Princess Diana in 1997 — when he was just 12 years old.
During the Duke of Sussex&#8217;s new Netflix limited series, &#8220;Heart of Invictus,&#8221; the royal opened up about dealing with past traumas — which he said goes back to before his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following his return home from serving two tours of duty in Afghanistan, one in 2007 another in 2012, the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12456841/Prince-Harrys-new-Invictus-Games-Netflix-series-released.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;The trigger to me was actually returning from Afghanistan, but the stuff that was coming up was from … 1997 from the age of 12,&#8221; Harry said in the show. &#8220;Losing my mum at such at young age. The trauma that I had I was never really aware of.&#8221;

&#8220;It was never discussed,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t really talk about it. I suppressed it like most youngsters would have done. But then when it all came fizzing out I was bouncing off the walls. I was like, &#8216;what is going on here. I am now feeling everything as opposed to being numb.'&#8221;
&#8220;The biggest struggle for me is that no one around me could really help,&#8221; the royal continued. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t have that support structure, that network, or that expert advice to identify what was actually going on with me.&#8221;
The Duke said he&#8217;s similar to others who have suffered a trauma in that he didn&#8217;t realize that he should seek help for his mental health until years later.
&#8220;Unfortunately, like most of us, the first time you really consider therapy is when you are lying on the floor in the fetal position probably wishing that you dealt with this stuff previously,&#8221; Harry said.
Later in the show, the royal said finally by the age of 28 he was able to start to working through some of the trauma, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/08/30/prince-harry-says-he-didnt-have-support-after-princess-dianas-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a> noted.
&#8220;I had no emotion, I was unable to cry, I was unable to feel,&#8221; the Duke said. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t know it at the time. And it wasn&#8217;t until later in my life, aged 28, there was a circumstance that happened that the first few bubbles started coming out and then suddenly it was like someone shook and it went &#8216;poof&#8217; … and then it was chaos.&#8221;
Harry is married to former &#8220;Suits&#8221; actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meghan-markle-and-prince-harry-rumored-to-sign-massive-deal-with-fashion-house" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Meghan Markle</a> and the two share two kids together — a son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet. Relations between the royal couple and his family have not been the best following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex&#8217;s initial decision to step down from their senior roles in January 2020. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/prince-harry">Prince Harry</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/meghan-markle">Meghan Markle</a> have purchased the rights to the bestselling novel “Meet Me at the Lake” and will turn it into a romantic comedy for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/netflix">Netflix</a>.
The couple acquired the movie rights through their company Archewell Productions, a spokesperson for Penguin Random House confirmed to Forbes. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/books">novel</a> has several elements which echo Harry and Meghan’s own life stories.
“Meet Me at the Lake” by Carley Fortune follows main characters Will and Fern, who meet in their 30s. Deadline <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/08/prince-harry-meghan-markle-film-rights-meet-me-at-the-lake-netflix-1235455935/">reported</a> that the book included themes of “childhood trauma, including losing a parent in a car crash, mental health challenges and post-natal depression.” Harry&#8217;s mother, Princess Diana, died from injuries sustained in a car crash while being pursued by a group of paparazzi in 1997.
The book is also set in Toronto, the city Markle lived in while filming “Suits” and began dating Harry.
“Meet Me At The Lake,” which has the same publisher as Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare,” was on the New York Times bestsellers list for five weeks.
“I’m so thrilled about working with Netflix and Archewell to bring Meet Me at the Lake to the screen,” Fortune said in a <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/royal-family/harry-meghan-netflix-book-author-b2389638.html">statement</a> to The Independent. “Will and Fern’s love story is dear to my heart, and I can’t imagine a more perfect partnership.”

The couple has been intent on creating a media empire with mixed results. In June, it was announced that Spotify was canceling the second season of Markle’s much-hyped podcast “Archetypes” after the couple signed a $20 million deal with the platform in December 2020, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/spotify-cancels-second-season-of-meghan-markles-feminist-archetypes-podcast">reported</a>.
Markle and Harry also have a multi-year deal with Netflix that kicked off with the release of the documentary series “Harry &amp; Meghan.” The series followed the former working royals from the days of their early courtship to their decision to leave the royal family and move permanently to California.
“Harry and Meghan” mainly received negative reviews from both U.K. and American critics. Netflix later canceled an animated series called “Pearl,” which was supposed to be created by Markle. 
Besides the new romantic film with Netflix, Harry and Meghan will launch Prince Harry’s documentary “The Heart of Invictus” later this month.

The judge dismissed the member of the royal family&#8217;s claim that there was a &#8220;secret agreement&#8221; between the press and Buckingham Palace, calling the alleged arrangement implausible.
Despite the case being thrown out, the judge did leave open the door for the prince to sue the publisher for other alleged illegal activities that helped it gain information about the duke and members of the royal family, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/07/27/prince-harrys-phone-hacking-case-against-uk-publisher-thrown-out/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a> noted.

A trial is set to take place next January to deal with these matters, unless some kind of settlement is reached before that.
In 2019, the royal filed a lawsuit against the now-defunct News of the World, The Sun, and The Daily Mirror, claiming his phone and those of his friends had been hacked, allowing the former outlet access to his voicemails between 1996 and 2011.
The U.K. publisher News Group Newspapers argued that Harry was too late because, by law, claimants have six years to start legal action once they learn of alleged illegal activity. The judge agreed with the publisher and said the duke was aware of the possible hacking by September 2013.

&#8220;Time therefore expired,&#8221; Fancourt said.
The prince tried to explain that his delay in filing the suit was because there was an alleged &#8220;secret agreement&#8221; between senior courtiers at Buckingham Palace and newspaper executives.
However, Fancourt agreed with The Sun&#8217;s KC Anthony Hudson, who told the court earlier that this was &#8220;Alice in Wonderland stuff&#8221; and that there was never any such &#8220;secret agreement.&#8221; Fancourt said there was no witness or documentary evidence to support what the Duke claimed.
After the ruling, News Group Newspapers (NGN) called the The High Court&#8217;s decision &#8220;a significant victory.&#8221;
&#8220;The Judge, Mr. Justice Fancourt, found his claims in relation to the alleged &#8216;secret agreement&#8217; were not plausible or credible,&#8221; the statement read. &#8220;It is quite clear there was never any such agreement and it is only the Duke who has ever asserted there was.&#8221;

A representative for WME, a talent agency that recently hired Markle, said: &#8220;Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.&#8221;
Earlier this year, the royals made news following their alleged &#8220;near catastrophic car chase&#8221; in New York City with &#8220;aggressive&#8221; paparazzi, that had many <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whoopi-goldberg-casts-doubt-on-prince-harry-and-meghan-markles-car-chase-story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">skeptical</a> of their narrative.
A spokesperson for the royals originally said, &#8220;Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. [Doria] Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.&#8221;

Morgan, host of &#8220;Piers Morgan: Uncensored,&#8221; took home the Interview of the Year prize for his <a href="https://theathletic.com/3917796/2022/11/21/cristiano-ronaldo-portugal-man-utd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one-on-one chat</a> with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. During that interview, Ronaldo was <a href="https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/37637391/cristiano-ronaldo-says-man-united-exit-bad-phase-career" target="_blank" rel="noopener">highly critical</a> of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag — and within days of its airing, the star forward made a very public exit from the club.
And while Morgan took some time during his acceptance speech to acknowledge Ronaldo and thank him for agreeing to do the interview, he also reserved some praise for Markle.
&#8220;I want to thank Meghan Markle because, if you think about it, without her contribution to my career I would never have gone to TalkTV,&#8221; Morgan joked, adding, &#8220;I would never have been standing here with this award.&#8221;

Responding to Markle&#8217;s claims that the Royal Family had been racist toward her and even Archie, her first child with Prince Harry, Beresford defended her and suggested that Morgan&#8217;s personal history with her was the real reason he had a problem with her comments.

I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle, you’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program, a number of times. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has. But yet you continue to trash her.&#8221;

Bill Simmons, Spotify’s head of podcast innovation and monetization, slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, after the company parted ways with the couple last week.
Markle&#8217;s podcast &#8220;Archetypes&#8221; explored historical and cultural stereotypes of women and was produced by her company, Archewell Audio, which Markle co-founded with her husband.
&#8220;Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,&#8221; the two entities said in a statement.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/spotify" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spotify</a> will not renew Meghan Markle’s podcast “Archetypes” for a second season, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Markle’s podcast, which explores historical and cultural stereotypes of women, will not return for a second season — a move which sources say is related to Spotify’s company-wide overhaul of its podcasting business.
The twelve episodes of the first season of the podcast, produced by Markle’s company Archewell Audio, which <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/meghan-markle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Markle</a> co-founded with her husband Prince Harry, aired from August to November 2022.
The show’s Spotify description calls it “a podcast where we investigate, dissect, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back.”
Featured guests included Serena Williams discussing the “double standard” women face when labeled “ambitious,” and Mariah Carey on the “complexities surrounding the ‘diva,’” as well as first lady of Canada Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.
Markle and Harry first signed a $20 million deal with Spotify in December 2020, shortly before announcing they would no longer be working members of the British royal family.
Although “Archetypes” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meghan-markles-new-podcast-archetypes-beats-joe-rogan-this-week-hits-number-one-on-spotify" target="_blank" rel="noopener">topped the charts</a> in its early episodes, sources familiar with the matter said the couple have not met their benchmarks to receive the full payout.
Though Spotify had never confirmed the production of a second season, in the show’s final episode, Markle seemed to suggest the possibility of a second season, saying, “We&#8217;re working on other ways to keep the conversation going, but, just know that as we close out this season of Archetypes, that I thank you.”

Sources attributed the cancellation to Spotify’s recent cutback in support for podcasts after the company announced last week that it would <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/spotify-to-lay-off-hundreds-as-big-tech-aggressively-downsizes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reduce its headcount</a> by 6%.
Spotify has struggled to garner revenue from its podcast sector and has started to move away from exclusive streaming deals, according to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/spotify-to-cut-200-jobs-as-it-reorganizes-podcasting-division-39720004?mod=article_inline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Wall Street Journal</a>, which noted that the company is likely to continue its partnerships with its biggest podcasting names, such as Joe Rogan and Emma Chamberlain.
A representative for WME, a talent agency that recently hired Markle, said the podcast’s team members “remain proud” of their work.
“Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform,” the WME representative said.
Markle and Prince Harry also signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, leading to the release of the documentary series “Harry &amp; Meghan,” which explores the couple’s trajectory from early courtship to the decision to leave the royal family and relocate to California.

The London High Court rejected a judicial review involving one of two cases filed by the Duke of Sussex against the Home Office for denying his application to pay for such services, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/23/world/europe/prince-harry-security-uk.html">The New York Times</a> reported.

The duke and duchess lost their taxpayer-funded police protection when the couple stepped down from their senior royal roles in 2020. They eventually relocated to southern California, where they are raising their two kids, son Prince Archie, 4, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 23 months.
While the royals live in the United States, they are protected by armed bodyguards, but when they are in the U.K., those same guards aren&#8217;t allowed to carry weapons, the outlet noted. The prince has argued that his family needs that extra level of protection while in Britain.
The second case against the Home Office has yet to be heard. It focuses on whether Prince Harry should have his state-sponsored security restored.
The duke first filed the cases in September 2021 after being in the country that year to honor his mother at the unveiling of his mother the late Princess Diana&#8217;s statue. While there, his security was reportedly &#8220;compromised due to the absence of police protection&#8221; while leaving a charity event, and his car was chased by photographers, the <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jan/15/prince-harry-presses-for-police-protection-to-visit-uk-with-family">Guardian</a> noted.
