Actor, comedian, and provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen recently had the cops called on him when trying to pull a prank on former New York City Mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.
According to Fox News, Giuliani was invited to the Mark Hotel to conduct what he believed was a serious interview about President Trump’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was allegedly offered payment for the interview, which he asked be donated to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. When Giuliani arrived, he was greeted by a female interviewer and a professional set. Shortly, thereafter, Cohen pulled his stunt.
“This guy comes running in, wearing a crazy, what I would say was a pink transgender outfit,” the former mayor told Fox News. “It was a pink bikini, with lace, underneath a translucent mesh top, it looked absurd. He had the beard, bare legs, and wasn’t what I would call distractingly attractive.”
“This person comes in yelling and screaming, and I thought this must be a scam or a shake-down, so I reported it to the police. He then ran away,” he added.
The police did not arrive to investigate. Cohen, according to sources, was seen “sprinting out of the swanky Upper East Side hotel and down 77th Street wearing just a bathrobe.”
Giuliani said he realized only later that the prankster was Sacha Baron Cohen, who he admitted to being a fan of.
“I only later realized it must have been Sacha Baron Cohen. I thought about all the people he previously fooled and I felt good about myself because he didn’t get me,” he said. “I am a fan of some of his movies, ‘Borat,’ in particular, because I’ve been to Kazakhstan. [Adopting a Borat accent, Giuliani repeats a famous line from the movie:] ‘She is my sister. She is number four prostitute in all of Kazakhstan.’ That was pretty funny.”
Sacha Baron Cohen’s prank against Giuliani comes nearly two weeks after he allegedly crashed a gun rights event in Washington, where he posed as a racist country singer, getting some of the crowd to sing along before it reportedly “turned on him” and his security whisked him away.
According to Variety, Cohen infiltrated the event “March for Our Rights 3” headed by the organization Washington Three Percenters — a pro-gun rights group that has been widely described as an “anti-government right-wing militia,” a label the group rejects — where he sang a racist song before the crowd after posing as a country musician.
Once the actor took the stage, he performed a song while having members of the crowd repeat the overtly racist lyrics back to him. The song focused on “injecting Obama, Clinton, and Fauci with the ‘Wuhan flu’ and chopping up members of the World Health Organization ‘like the Saudis do.’”
“Obama, what we gonna do? Inject him with the Wuhan flu. Hillary Clinton, what we gonna do? Lock her up like we used to do. Fauci don’t know his head from his a**. He must be smoking grass. I ain’t lying, it ain’t no jokes. Corona is a liberal hoax. Dr. Fauci, what we gonna do? Inject him with the Wuhan flu. WHO, what we gonna do? Chop ’em up like the Saudis do,” Baron Cohen sang.
In a statement, James Connor Blair, a Councilman in Yelm, Washington, described how the stunt unfolded, ending with Baron Cohen escaping in a private ambulance.
