Roseanne: My ‘Apes’ Tweet Was Really About Anti-Semitism

Comedienne Roseanne Barr has not kept her promise to refrain from tweeting following her racially charged hit at former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.

The infamous Twitter rant, which resulted in the cancellation of Roseanne’s hit show on ABC, compared the former Obama aide to an ape. Roseanne initially defended her tweet by saying she didn’t realize that Jarrett, who was born to parents of African-American and European descent, was not white.

Now, Roseanne says that her tweet was actually meant as a condemnation of anti-Semitism.

Rod Serling wrote Planet of The Apes,” Roseanne tweeted Wednesday night. “It was about anti-semitism. That is what my tweet referred to – the anti semitism of the Iran deal. Low IQ ppl can think whatever they want.”

Barr’s new explanation comes weeks after Roseanne blamed the tweet on Ambien. Maybe next she’ll say autocorrect made her say Ambien instead of anti-semitism.

Following that tweet, Ambien made a comeback as Roseanne described her developing “a bit of palsy” in her head and hands, but says she is now sleeping “without Ambien.” She then thanked God and told her followers “we are winning! don’t give up! PEACE is coming!”

Roseanne gave a shout out to her friend Rosie O’Donnell “for support and love and understanding even when we disagree!”
