The latest dud of a &#8220;scandal&#8221; surrounding Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) fell flat on social media this week, despite activists&#8217; best efforts.
An account with nearly half a million followers called PatriotTakes, which is partnered with leftist group MeidasTouch Media, posted screenshots of DeSantis using his family photos for different social media posts.
That was the scandal, apparently.
&#8220;Ron DeSantis’ family is wearing the exact same clothes in both their Christmas and New Year Instagram posts,&#8221; the account captioned the screenshots.
&#8220;After posting two week old photos while Ron DeSantis was MIA, we have now discovered that DeSantis has been recycling the same family shoot photos for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. DeSantis is a phony,&#8221; PatriotTakes wrote in a follow-up tweet.
Notably, DeSantis was smeared as being &#8220;missing in action&#8221; by leftists while he was accompanying his wife Casey DeSantis at her cancer treatment. The couple shared the diagnosis back in October.

The attempt to hurt DeSantis was swiftly mocked online.

As highlighted by The Daily Wire&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/desantis-accompanied-his-wife-to-cancer-treatment-democrats-mocked-him-for-being-missing">Tim Pearce</a>, DeSantis on Wednesday accompanied Casey to her cancer treatment while he was attacked by critics for supposedly taking time off:
