Hillary Clinton is a liar. It won’t matter.
Her concern with her 2016 presidential run prompted her to force an invasion of Libya with no rationale; to set up a private email server so as to block knowledge of her actions; to delete emails from that server to accomplish the same purpose; to email incessantly with political hack Sidney Blumenthal about topics ranging from Libya, where he had business interests, to Israel; to ignore Libya almost entirely once her “victory” in Libya had been won; to lie to the American people and the parents of the Benghazi victims about a YouTube video as the source of the Benghazi terror attacks while standing in front of the flag-draped coffins of the victims; to set up an entirely partisan Accountability Review Board to review her service.
But the media have decided that Hillary Clinton is a victim of a partisan witch-hunt.
Basing their narrative almost entirely on Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) statement on Hannity that the House Select Committee on Benghazi had lowered Hillary’s approval ratings. The motivation of the investigation has become the media’s story, rather than the outcome of the investigation.
Somehow, the media will even turn Hillary’s lies and incompetence and maliciousness into a case for her presidency.
This is totally perverse, of course. Nothing in Washington, D.C. happens without partisan motivation; motivation does not determine the truth or falsehood of allegations. The Watergate hearings were partisan. The Clinton impeachment was partisan. Benghazi is partisan. At least partially, all of these hearings and investigations are partisan because defenders of wrongdoers are partisan. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) is certainly more partisan than Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) in defending Hillary Clinton’s blatantly illegal activities.
In short, everyone’s a partisan. That’s why they have Ds and Rs next to their names. So the hell what?
There’s only one group of people who are supposed to be non-partisan: members of the supposedly objective news media. But they are all Hillary acolytes, Democratic palace guards. So they’ll ignore that Hillary blamed Ambassador Chris Stevens for his own death, even suggesting that that famous Stevens “sense of humor” explained his requests for security. They’ll ignore that Hillary lied over and over again about a YouTube videomaker being responsible for terrorist attacks half a world away, so as to assure Barack Obama’s re-election. Glenn Thrush of Politico labeled that latter fact “Meh” on Twitter.
Somehow, the media will even turn Hillary’s lies and incompetence and maliciousness into a case for her presidency. Media coverage today has focused on Hillary’s stalwartness in the face of questioning, her calmness, her “in control” attitude. The dueling headlines: Nothing New, and Hillary’s a Rock Star. Huffington Post printed this photo and headline of Hillary:
That’s what the American people will hear. Republicans embarrassed themselves; Hillary’s a hero.
Four Americans were killed in Benghazi. Hillary allowed it to happen, created the situation on the ground for it to happen, then went home and went to sleep – and lied about it for the next three years. But on the basis of those lies, she’ll be the next President of the United States if the media have their way.
