Report: School Has 17 Students Changing Gender. Teacher: Most Are Autistic, Being ‘Groomed’

Seventeen students at a single British high school are in the process of changing their gender, a whistleblower teacher at the school told The Daily Mail. While the “astonishing” number of students seeking a gender change would be newsworthy by itself, the report published Monday underscores that the veteran teacher claims that a majority of the gender-changing students are autistic and thus more vulnerable to what she describes as being “groomed” by others into believing they suffer from gender dysphoria, when they do not.

“The whistleblower says few of the transgender children are suffering from gender dysphoria – the medical term for someone who feels they were born in the wrong body – but are just easily influenced, latching on to the mistaken belief they are the wrong sex as a way of coping with the problems caused by autism,” the Mail reports.

“The teacher says she felt compelled to speak out to protect pupils, many of whom she believes could already be taking the powerful drugs and may go on to have life-changing surgery,” the outlet notes. “She believes schools and some politicians have swallowed ‘hook, line and sinker’ a politically-correct ‘fallacy’ peddled by a powerful transgender lobby.”

The teacher, who has been teaching for two decades and has an “unblemished record,” asked the Daily Mail to conceal her identity for fear of being fired. In her interview with the Daily Mail, the woman, who asked to be called “Carol,” said she was instructed not to tell parents or teachers if a student told her they believed they were transgender.

“Parents are not told about this and there is no way of challenging these pupils who are convinced by others that they have a problem they almost certainly do not have,” she told the Mail. “Tragically the end result could be irreversible surgical procedures. This is scandalous.”

“Carol” says she believes that most of the children claiming to be transgender are likely gay but fear bullying if they come out as homosexual. Transgenderism, on the other hand, has become somewhat “idolized” by many of the students at the school, she said, in part because of one particularly influential former student who is now planning a double masectomy.

“That student, who was born female, told Carol she wanted to identify as non-binary — a person with no specific gender — in January 2014, at the age of 16 and two years after being diagnosed as autistic,” the Mail reports.

Carol herself was involved in putting the student in contact with a transgender support group. The teacher now says she regrets her actions. “She had other complicated mental health problems. It is a tragedy her claim was accepted so readily. Now she is going to mutilate her body,” she said.

Carol said that over the next few years, a remarkable 17 of the “non-binary” girl’s schoolmates have since “come out” as transgender, even wearing similar clothing and hairstyles of transgender social media personalities. “They are just young people with mental health problems who have found an identity and want to be part of a group of like-minded people,” she said.

The report follows a previous report by the Mail on autism and gender identity that claims that around a third of young people referred to England’s National Health Service showed “moderate to severe autistic traits,” meaning that around 150 children showing some signs of autism have been given puberty blocking drugs as a result of claiming to suffer gender dysphoria.

The Mail notes that one parliamentarian has publicly praised “Carol” for coming forward. “I congratulate this teacher for coming out and telling us what I have long suspected has been going on in schools,” said Conservative MP David Davies. “It is horrendous that children are being encouraged by other pupils to identify as transgender, particularly if they have autism.”
