Right when you think common sense has all but disappeared in American politics, a judge from New York’s Supreme Court — of all places — issues a refreshing ruling, rejecting New York City’s vaccine mandate for public workers.

As reported, a group of New York City government workers who were fired for refusing to get the COVID vaccine sued the Big Apple for violating their rights.

On Tuesday Judge Ralph J. Porzio wrote that all NYC government workers fired by the city for failing to get the jab must be “reinstated to their full employment” and are “entitled to back pay in salary from the date of termination.”

Porzio noted that the city’s mandate for government employees was about compliance, not health and safety.

“If it was about safety and public health, no one would be exempt,” he explained.

The entire opinion is worth the read — even if only to remind you that you weren’t insane for opposing vaccine mandates — but the conclusion at the end is particularly enlightening.
