Kim Kardashian promised that she wouldn’t speak ill of her children’s father Kanye West in public, and so far she has mostly avoided reacting to his accusations against her, however, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum couldn’t help but clap back Monday regarding an Instagram post Ye shared with his 15.5 million followers.
The image showed a photo of 8-year-old daughter North’s backpack. On it, there are 3 pins: one of Kardashian, one of Ye, and an alien. West wrote in the caption, “This was on my daughters back pack when I was ‘allowed’ to see her last week[.] This is why I go so hard for my family I am wired to protect my family at all cost[.] As the priest of my home Don’t worry Northy God is still alive.”
Kardashian almost never engages with these types of posts, which West has been posting and deleting for months, but the 41-year-old mother of four left a snarky reply, saying, “Please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school.” As of Tuesday morning, her clapback had received more than 100,000 likes.
Despite Kardashian’s professed goal of keeping the drama quiet, it seems like every week there’s a new issue between these two, whose divorce was recently finalized. West and Kardashian are attempting to co-parent but don’t appear to be on the same page when it comes to raising the kids.
For example, Ye expressed multiple times how he didn’t want North going on TikTok but Kardashian continues to allow it. The most recent example was posted over the weekend when West lamented his daughter wearing dark makeup and dancing to the Machine Gun Kelly song, “Emo Girl.”
Fans can’t help but take sides on this issue. The comments on Instagram are flooded with support for the 44-year-old rapper, including messages saying “nothing wrong with going hard for your loved ones,” and “let the man be a father.”
Multiple critics, however, have come out against West, saying his behavior should be considered harassment of Kardashian. The reality star refutes many of the claims West is making about not being allowed to see his kids, including an incident in January when the rapper made a public plea via social media, begging to be let into his 4-year-old daughter Chicago’s birthday party. West alleged that Kardashian was keeping the address hidden from him.
“I’m just putting this online because I need ya’ll support,” West said at the time. “I’ve called Kim, texted the nannies, I got on the phone with Tristan [Thompson], he said he’d ask Khloe [Kardashian]. Won’t nobody give me the address to my daughter’s birthday party right now, and that’s going to imprint in her mind that I wasn’t there for her.”
Sources claimed Kardashian was confused by the accusation and never tried to keep West out of the party. Other sources close to the couple say the plan was always for West to have a separate party for his daughter later in the day.
“He was always having his own party for Chicago. He had it at 4 p.m. at his office downtown that he planned, so it’s so frustrating he crashed Kim’s party and created this narrative that he wasn’t invited,” the source told Page Six.
