“Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson spent New Year’s Eve throwing jabs at comedian Louis C.K. and joking about his death during a set at a Boston area club.
Davidson, who once mocked veteran Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) for losing his eye in war, was seemingly triggered by C.K.’s leaked stand-up routine, which included jokes about “gender neutral” millennials and the faux expertise of Parkland school shooting survivors.
During his routine, Davidson joked about triggering C.K.’s death via tattoo, reports IndieWire:
I got a “Harry Potter” tattoo. Then the next day Alan Rickman, the guy who played Snape, died and I was like, “Oh, what a weird coincidence.” Then I got a Willy Wonka tattoo. Next day — Gene Wilder dies. Now I’m like, all right, that’s a coincidence, that’s weird. So I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of Louis C.K., what do you guys think? That joke used to be about Aziz Ansari, but Aziz has been nice to me recently.
In 2017, C.K. admitted to masturbating in front of women over whom he said he had “power” after five women came forward with related accusations. Ansari, another comedian referenced by Davidson, was accused of engaging in sex acts with a woman who admittedly consented to the acts but claims she didn’t really want to participate.
But Davidson’s scorn for C.K. seems to derive from a personal beef. According to the “Saturday Night Live” regular, C.K. made Davidson look bad in front of executive producer Lorne Michaels. IndieWire reports:
Davidson went on to tell the audience that C.K. once tried to get him fired from his “Saturday Night Live” gig for smoking marijuana. C.K. hosted an episode in April 2017 and, according to Davidson, “told all the producers in front of me that all this kid does is smoke weed and he’s gonna smoke his career away.” Davidson added that C.K. also went to “SNL” creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels to complain about how he “smokes so much weed that it makes people uncomfortable.”
Davidson added, “Then five years later this motherf**ker’s been locking doors and jerking off in front of people.”
The leaked stand up from C.K. was widely condemned by Woke comedians and the mainstream media for going after Parkland school shooting survivors. “These kids … What are you doing? You’re young, you should be crazy, you should be unhinged. Not in a suit saying ‘I’m here to …’ F*** you,” said C.K. during the set. “You’re not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot. Why does that mean I have to listen to you? Why does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I gotta listen to you talking?”
C.K. also ripped “gender neutral” teens. “They are just boring,” he told the audience, adding, “They’re like royalty, they tell you what to call them. ‘You should address me as they/them, because I identify as gender neutral.’ Oh, OK. OK. You should address me as ‘there,’ because I identify as a location. And the location is your mother’s c***. It doesn’t have to be that nasty, but it can be.”
