PETA is at it again.

The publicity-seeking People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is taking aim at popular clothing stores likes Urban Outfitters that use leather and fur by opening a fake store, Urban Outraged, that features items crafted from “human parts.”

The phony shop features a number of clothing items “made of the finest leather — that on second look, reveal human faces on the jackets, human teeth on the shoes, and human blood oozing from the bags,” according to a press release.

That shoe with the human teeth is called “The Meg Boot.”

“Our signature Meg Boot is our most popular style, but make no mistake: Each boot features its own special touches, depending on which part of Meg was used. She was aging beautifully, so a majority of the work was already done for us, but we still managed to get in some extra tanning. With every kick and scream came lots of pounding with hammers to ensure that the leather stays soft and pliable. We managed to clean off most of the blood, but the occasional drop can be expected as a result of the handmade process,” the website says.

Then there are “The Dan Pants.”

“There are a lot of Dans in the world, but no two are the same. We brought that level of uniqueness to our Dan Pants. Many, many Dans were used in the making of these pants. We gathered all the Dans we could in order to ensure that we could meet demand. No two have the same bruises, scars, or residual blood left over from the several days of torture that it took to produce these unique garments. Know a Dan? Like a Dan? You’re gonna love these pants,” the website says.

And there’s “The Sofie Dress.”

“Located at the intersection of style and luxury, the Sofie Dress is designed to last, season after season. Sofie was a timeless beauty, captured in the prime of her life. After being lured away from her home, she was forced to walk 20 miles. When she stumbled from exhaustion, cruel farmers rubbed tobacco and chili pepper in her eyes. The Sofie dress is sure to become the only dress you’ll need, which is good, because there was only one of her,” says the website.

The fake store is an attempt to personify the animals that are used to make leather and fur clothing items.

“Why aren’t you horrified by what’s already in your closet?” says another section of the website. “If you own animal-derived materials like wool, leather, alpaca, cashmere, mohair, down, or silk, you’ve bought into barbaric industries involving violent practices that would be considered cruel and unusual were they performed on humans.”

“A cow’s skin belongs to her, and she feels fear and pain in a slaughterhouse every bit as much as you or I would,” PETA’s executive vice president, Tracy Reiman, told the New York Post.
